19.01.2022 Recently I was asked to respond to the CASA DP 1701AS Discussion Paper on ADS-B. In the process of looking at the technical aspects of the discussion paper, I contacted and communicated with an extremely large cross-section of Pilots and Aircraft Owners in SEQLD. Many Pilots and Owners are very disappointed with the perception of representation and advocacy to the Regulator and Government by current organisations and associations.... Many Pilots and Owners asked the question about representative organisations with the view that perhaps a New combined organisation of RAAUS, SAAA, including Licenced Engineers (LAME) and perhaps AOPA and other organisations would be far better representation for aircraft not exceeding 2500kg. Certainly, a focused Association dealing with the foundation area of General Aviation may be a move in the right direction? Honestly, I am not sure? In transparency, I am a member of AOPA, SAAA and RAAus and each organisation has its merits, benefits and its limitations. My personal belief is that we may be better served by one umbrella organisation if that organisation could muster a representative consensus and advocate on behalf of the lower-end of General Aviation? What do you think?

15.01.2022 The Avionics Panel is coming along well under Glenn's care and control.

14.01.2022 Update: Lancair ES With the sale of the RV8s in December 2018 we can now refocus on the Lancair ES The main planes are now finished and awaiting their Prima-coats and then Painting. We have a little work to do on the control surfaces.... The white paint is a new compound that is easily applied over a prepared micro coating that eliminates the additional work required in micro-ballooning alone.

12.01.2022 April 2015: Subsidiary enterprise McNeil Aviation located in Hervey Bay Australia has located a suitable power-plant for our Lancair ES build. A certified Lycoming IO-540.Turbo-charged at 350hp this engine should be quite suitable. This will be shipped from Canada later this year. Meanwhile the build progresses at a moderate rate at our sunny Hervey Bay facility.

12.01.2022 A walk around the Flightline's in Torrance Airport (USA) and a chat with the Flight Schools indicates that General Aviation is in full motion, training Pilots at high-capacity to meet the demands of the General Aviation Industry the Regional and Mainline Airlines! Images: Some beautiful old Warbirds and a Citabria (I hope to do some tail wheel time in) at Torrance Airport.

10.01.2022 This morning I spent fitting the Cold Air Sump to the IO-540. Slow however rewarding work.

07.01.2022 FRASER COAST AVIATION CENTRE & McNEIL AVIATION. As you're aware, the Gold Coast is hosting the Commonwealth Games from 4th April until 15th April 2018. As Queenslanders, we are excited and proud that our great city of the Gold Coast is hosting athletes from over 70 nations and the biggest event to ever be held on the Gold Coast to date!... However, we are also very much aware that it will cause significant disruptions to usual business trade. Due to road closures and expected heavy traffic congestion during the Games, McNeil Aviation and Colonial Airways will be on furlough given our office proximity to many events and the athlete village. We anticipate that our ability to provide our usual seamless service will be restored directly after the completion of the Games. Our team is committed to ensuring minimal disruptions and we will endeavour to communicate as much as possible both prior to and directly after the games by email. Thank you for your patience, and enjoy the Games
