25.01.2022 Year 2 has been investigating whether or not we have a littering problem. Together, we created an inquiry question about litter and collected the data after lunch today. We looked at the type and location of any litter we found. After we collected all the litter. Sadly it was five buckets worth in one day. We look forward to sharing our solutions to this problem.
23.01.2022 On September 2 we recognise Indigenous Literacy Day. Local Ngunnawal Elder Tyronne Bell has made a reading of a book authored by his late father, Don Bell, avai...lable online. The beautiful story of Mununja the Butterfly was the first children’s book written in Ngunnawal language. You can access the story here: http://ow.ly/WANe50Bft52

15.01.2022 Fraser staff were so lucky today to be treated to amazing morning tea from The Sugar Deli! We promise we only eat sweet treats sometimes, but when we do we usually get them from these amazing folks! Our kind staff regularly buy treats for each other, so this time, they got a treat! Yum! https://www.facebook.com/TheSugarDeli/

06.01.2022 You might have noticed some additional adults in our school this week. Fraser Primary is currently undergoing a school review, where a panel of ACT school leaders and a representative from the Australian Council of Educational Research (ACER) - via videoconference - visit to talk to staff, students and the community about our school. If you see them around, please don’t hesitate to say hi.
06.01.2022 We have been taking advantage of the new ways of communicating that have been possible this year. Today, our students enjoyed virtual guest speaker presentations to support their learning. Year 2 have been learning about water in their Science Inquiry ‘Water Works’. Today they had a visitor from ICON water: Kate. She talked to the students about how water gets to their school/homes and where the water goes afterwards. This will help the students to learn all about the amazing water journey from tap to sink and the ACT water cycle. Year 5/6 heard from Olympic race walker Brendon Reading, as part of the "Olympics Unleashed" program. Brendon did lots of athletics in West Belconnen as a child and was happy to share his experiences in qualifying for and competing in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
