Can I interest anyone in an edible bowl of Fasoulada? Served in a ntako bowl, fasoulada never looked so good! But how do you eat it? Just break off the edges as you go. That was my hubbies method! Just make sure it’s sitting in an actual bowl. Absolutely LOVE these Cretan owls nest bowls from @creativeapron @kritonparadosi that you can also serve salad in! . 500g dry white beans. 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil. 1 chopped brown onion. 2-3 chopped carrots. 3-4 chopped celery sticks. Water. 2 Tbsp tomato paste. 2 Tbsp corn flour. Juice of 1 lemon. Salt and pepper to taste. Feta cheese to sprinkle @chelmosaustralia @chelmos_dairy_greece . Give the beans a rinse under cold water and place them in a deep large pot. Add plenty of water and allow them to boil for approximately 30 mins. Do not add salt. After 30 mins, drain, rinse once more and set aside. In the same pot add olive oil, onion, celery and carrot and saute for approximately 3 minutes. Add the beans back to the pot and enough water 2cm higher than the beans and vegetables. On a medium simmer allow the soup to cook for approximately one hour or until they soften. Add the tomato paste and cook for another 20 minutes adding the seasoning now. Mix lemon juice and cornflour together and add to the soup just to slightly thicken it beautifully. Ensure you taste to check for seasoning and enjoy with feta cheese and fresh bread.
