23.01.2022 The fruit of the Spirit: here is an easy to understand explanation of LOVE, by Pastor Ian Wildeboer. What is the fruit of the Spirit? What does living a Christian life mean to you? ... Is our life Spirit filled, a life of virtue? It is interesting to note that fruit of the Spirit is a singular noun, it does not mean fruit(s). It is a composite whole. You cannot live one without the other. There are also other fruit(s) of the Spirit, such as Repentance, Praise and Worship. These are actions. The other 9, as mentioned in Galatians 5 have to do with your attitude, they must live within your heart and fuel your actions. Christ is the fountain of love. Listen how this beautiful message is explained. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJTcEwYYc-w

22.01.2022 Here is a beautiful brief devotional from Luke 6: 45, "The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks." This devotional is great for our kids, about taming the tongue, taken from the Bible book of James, and is shared by Pastor Jake from Redemption Canadian Reformed Church. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6q6jfhDtRs

21.01.2022 Here is an interesting and very informative perspective on Christmas - the birth of Jesus from the virgin Mary, and the humanity of Jesus. Easy to understand? Definitely not. This may help you to understand how and why this all came about. It also speaks about the infinite power of Jesus to comfort you. It doesn't matter what situation you are faced with, Jesus faced it also and He can help you! On behalf of our church community I would like to wish you all a very happy, ...safe, and blessed Christmas, reflecting on the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Please feel free to join us for Christmas songs at 9.00 am on Christmas Day, followed by our regular worship. However, please let us know in advance, due to social distancing / density requirements. Wishing you all God's blessing, love, joy and peace over the Christmas period. https://www.youtube.com/watch

17.01.2022 Is Bible reading a part of your daily routine? How do you read the Bible? Do you select certain passages to read, or do you read it as a book - from start to finish?

17.01.2022 It can be said that when times are great, things are going really good for us, that we sometimes think that we do not really need God. Does that thought ever cross your mind? What about when times are tough? From personal experience when things are tough, when we are faced with challenges physically, mentally, emotionally, or even spiritually, it brings us to our knees and makes us realise how much we need God in our life. It brings us closer to Him. Our comfort is that God has everything under His control and direction. Nothing escapes His attention. We can bring all our thoughts (even our anxiety) before Him in prayer, and we know that He will be there for us and will provide a way for us to overcome the difficult situation that we may be in. Do we trust God to be able to do that?

17.01.2022 Here is the link for Sr D Brunings funeral, 2.00 PM (WA time) today. For those of you that are interested, Sr D Bruning is the late wife of Rev K Bruning, the first pastor of the Free Reformed Church of Armadale, WA. https://livestream.com/accounts/29439303/events/9101923

17.01.2022 Years ago I was helped by a sentence I read, quoted from a quaint and altogether illiterate old woman, but who was evidently taught of God. She said: 'When a Christian grows in grace, his growth is the same as the growth of a cow's tail. The more her tail grows, the nearer the ground it comes'! And my beloved brother in Christ, that is true spiritually; the more we really grow in grace the more we take our proper placein the dust before God! The more we grow spiritually, th...e more out of love with ourselves we become! The more we grow spiritually, the less will we boast of what 'I have done', and the more will we speak (when in the presence of those who can understand and appreciateand, believe me, they are few and far between) of what great things the Lord has done for ushis mercy is stooping to pick up so vile a wretch; his long-suffering in bearing with one is so incorrigible. A. W. Pink to his friend Lowell Green, September 2, 1934. Letters of A. W. Pink, During the period 1924-1951. RT Lidi Cecilio

16.01.2022 There is so much comfort in these words! In fact, the book of Psalms shares so many words of joy, thanks, and comfort.

16.01.2022 We can always approach our God in prayer. We can speak with Him daily. He will hear every word that we say. Our God is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, abounding in love.

16.01.2022 Pentecost - celebrated yesterday. The pouring out of the Holy Spirit.

15.01.2022 We are privileged to have livestream sermons shared by our sister church - FRC Launceston, a message from Rev Dr Wes Bredenhof. This is his Sunday morning message on John 8: 48 - 59, "Believe in "I Am" and never taste death." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POOCy1HvSrA

15.01.2022 Do you find it easy to forgive those who have wronged you? Do you hold grudges? Can you move on and build on a relationship that has been broken? The Bible teaches us on many occasions to forgive, to forgive, and to forgive, in other words - to keep forgiving, just as our Father in heaven has forgiven us.

15.01.2022 Life is full of challenges, particularly at the moment. How do we deal with these challenges? Do we blame God for things going wrong? Please take the time to read this wonderful personal account and experience to provide a greater understanding of how we can understand our challenges and difficulties more, from a Biblical perspective. https://yinkahdinay.wordpress.com//discern-gods-sovereig/

14.01.2022 A beautiful perspective on COVID-19: 1. We need to have a loose hold on our current city. We can be so focussed on achievement, in fact, we are driven to achievement. Perhaps some of our idols, such as leisure, entertainment, material wealth are exposed. 2. We need to have a firm hope on that city that is to come. That city is an enduring and eternal city, that is worth holding onto. The foundation, the architect, and the builder of this city is God. By the blood of Jes...us we may enter this city. Here we will have unlimited access to our Saviour - it will be beautiful, that is the promise! 3. We need to have a commitment to both of them. Now, at this present time we should commit to serving our city. We can do so by prayer, praying for the healing of our city, which means peace, prosperity, and that we may once again flourish. Also pray in general how we can best serve and show love, and how we can serve in humility. Finally, we do not have a lasting city now, but we do have one to come. Please listen to this brief message from Pastor Ian Wildeboer for a more detailed explanation of this, and feel free to share it with others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfthItfFUHE

14.01.2022 Our church is encouraging social activities / social interaction at the moment. It's great to keep in touch with family, friends, the older and more vulnerable people in our community, or those that might be sick or lonely. What better way to do this than sharing a meal together. When we do so, we can reflect on how richly we have been blessed, as a nation, as a community, and as individuals. Let's remember to always give God the glory and thank Him for what He has done for us.

13.01.2022 How are you holding up with the COVID-19 pandemic? For some, our pride, selfishness and anger can come to the fore. For others that were lonely, this loneliness can be compounded.... What were we created for? Revelation 4: 11 and Matthew 11: 28 - 30 give us a greater understanding of this and perhaps helps us to deal with these unprecedented times. Please feel free to provide feedback on this encouraging message from Pastor Jake. "Rest for the Weary." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUH1eDBuNCg

13.01.2022 New Year 2021 goals - do you have any?? On the last Sunday of 2020, we were able to listen to a beautiful message in our worship service, with the theme: "Three goals that we as a church need to be pursuing." These goals are:... 1. Seeking the good of others 2. Seeking the glory of God 3. Seeking the lost Are you happy to share what your goals are?

12.01.2022 As we long for joining together again in corporate worship, we can also look forward to one day being with Him in His courts, in the new Jerusalem. There we will find peace, rest, and security with Him. Psalm 84. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIws4qJxIYM

10.01.2022 Beautiful words for this challenging time. Always easy to be thankful when things are going well, not so easy when we are faced with difficulties and challenges.

08.01.2022 I think this can be a challenge for all of us! I know that it certainly is for me! It make us realise how far we fall short of the perfect life that our Lord Jesus lived here on this earth. Does that mean that we just give up and think that we cant do it? Tempting as it is, we should always strive to mirror that perfect image that our Lord and Saviour showed us in His Word. That means lots of prayer.

08.01.2022 There is a certain comfort to be found in prayer. We can thank God for His many blessings, but we can also lay all of our thoughts, our concerns, and our needs before Him. When faced with challenging circumstances such as the effects of COVID-19, it is good to remember the power of prayer.

08.01.2022 What temptations are you faced with? As mentioned in this text, it is our own desires, our own lust, our own passion that has the potential to entice us and drag us away. We need to be strong in our faith, our conviction, and our commitment in serving our God.

07.01.2022 The 10 commandments are read every Sunday morning in our church services. These commandments make us realise how far we fall short of doing Gods will, and how much we are in need of a Saviour!

05.01.2022 How honest are we with with ourselves? How honest are we with others? Do we try and mask or hide our fears, our pain, the heartbreak of distress, our brokenness? This is a great read! Please feel free to share it.

04.01.2022 This is a Psalm that has so much meaning to me, (Ray) especially this week, mourning the loss of my father who died at 89 years of age. There are so many comforting words in the Bible. This Psalm (Psalm 23) is so comforting for those that are grieving and mourning the loss of a loved one. If you havent already read this Psalm, please put it on your list of things to do today, or in the next few days!
