25.01.2022 We have a cute distraction from the day-to-day for you. Introducing ’Mocha’ - the cutest calf we know. Sadly his mum died after having him so we’re raising Mocha on the bottle. How beautiful is he?

24.01.2022 Look who's coming home for the Farm Tour! Our poddy calf Mocha has grown up and been living with the beef cattle herd this past month, but Rob went out today to ask him to come home this weekend so that our visitors can say hello. He was a big hit at the Christmas Farmers' Market so we thought there might be some more children who would love to get up close and personal with a friendly calf. 21.01.2022 Look at these beautiful eggs coming from our new flock of Freckle Farm pullets. A few customers have commented on the colour of the shells. Young hens lay eggs with a darker coloured shell and so you will notice a lot more brown eggs in your cartons at the moment. They also lay smaller eggs at first and so we are stocking Large eggs at the markets for the first time in more than 12 months. In a few weeks they will go up a size and so we will be back selling X-Large and Jumbos again. The other bonus is the young pullets often lay double yolkers and so keep an eye out for those bonus eggs over the coming weeks.

21.01.2022 Look at these cuties who attended one of our Farm Tours last year. This gorgeous pair have inspired us to offer a prize for the 'best dressed' junior farmer at our tours this weekend. If you're planning to visit the farm with your youngsters then dust off their boots and rustle up a few props to be in the running to win some great prizes. 19.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that our popular Farm Tours are back with our first open days for 2021 to be held next weekend. The farm will be open next Saturday & Sunday (8 & 9 May) from 9am - 1pm.This is our eighth year of running tours and each year we incorporate new and engaging ways to share our farm with you. We have so many animals to see - chickens, pigs, cows, sheep, horses and dogs will all be on show. We will also have a collection of farm vehicles for the kids ...to explore and some real farm experiences to enjoy. If you have some time to spend with us you might even get to feed the pigs or the horses. We will also have a sausage sizzle and you are welcome to bring your own snacks for a farm picnic. 14.01.2022 We love to recycle and these retired laying hens are the perfect addition to any family who loves farm fresh eggs. They are still laying and will be good for several years if they continue to be loved like they have been at Freckle Farm. Potential owners will be vetted; our girls must have access to fresh greens daily, must be petted (preferrably by children) and we will insist that they are not allowed to free range with dogs that are partial to chicken for dinner! Please text all orders and make your plans for collection this Friday or Saturday.

11.01.2022 Rain, glorious rain. Scored just short of 100mm at Freckle Farm since 3am this morning and it’s time to move the cows to higher country. Passing through a paddock that we ripped with the Yeoman plough you can see how much moisture has been captured in the soil profile. Great start to the summer growing season.

10.01.2022 Day 1 of school holidays and our first activity is an early morning muster. Done and dusted by 7:30am before the heat of the day. Love this time with our kids and cows.

06.01.2022 Just a heads up for our Greater Whitsunday Farmers' Market customers that we will be away next week and so you might like to grab some extra eggs tomorrow to get you through. You will find us at the Farmers' Market at Bluewater Quay in Mackay City Centre from 6:30am tomorrow morning.
