21.01.2022 The construction of our new fort! https://vimeo.com/481074904

20.01.2022 Our Junior Kindy friends are now growing a sunflower garden bed! Gardening is a terrific way to get children involved with nature. It has the power to teach children about the beauty of flowers and vegetables, whilst also teaching them valuable life lessons like patience, responsibility and self-confidence.

20.01.2022 Some activities our children have done to celebrate Diwali Day tomorrow included creating mandala lamps, tea light candle holders, bead threading, as well as bright fireworks! Thankyou to Ariyah's mother in Senior Kindy for bringing in a Sari for Emma to wear and helping her put it on, it looked so gorgeous and our children loved it!

19.01.2022 Senior Kindy friend’s were having way too much fun inside, they worked together to make the most gorgeous fairy house’s for outside using recycled milk carton’s, aswell as rainbow paints and glitter! We also enjoyed playing with playdough, orbeez and gorgeous fairies, aswell as reading, roleplaying and zooming the cars around!

18.01.2022 Inside Senior Kindy spent their morning getting creative with play dough, practicing their fine motor skills by using tongs, coloured cotton balls, and containers for them to place in to, reading, as well as painting beautiful pictures for their family!

17.01.2022 Junior Kindy and Babies spent the morning drawing using crayons and textas. Holding and manipulating writing instruments represents one of the best ways to improve a child’s fine motor skills. Drawing creates immediate visual feedback that changes depending on the tool your child uses and how he or she uses it. In addition to improving fine motor skills, drawing enables your child to draw connections between what they see and do.

16.01.2022 We thought it was the perfect day to play picnic outside!

16.01.2022 Junior Kindy Q Tip painting! Using q-tips to paint with is a wonderful and simple way to help develop a child's fine motor skills. The fine 'pinch' grip required to hold the small q-tip in place and to move it around the paper to paint is ideal for building on those smaller muscles of the hand

15.01.2022 We were very happy to welcome Future Champs to Freckles today. Our awesome instructors, Daniel and Nathan were full of energy and enthusiasm as were our children! Future Champs philosophy is to educate and inspire young children towards a fit and healthy future through fun and participative environment, and they certainly did that! They brought along so much new and challenging equipment, our children had the best morning full of fundamental movement. We look forward to seeing them every Tuesday from 9 am to 10 am.

15.01.2022 We are loving the hot weather, its perfect for water play which is always a favourite activity. Today our Junior Kindy friends made a green/blue foamy ocean that contained some beautiful sealife. In the sandpit area we had another container of water which our friends made delicious soup aswell as cleaning the utensils provided for play.

15.01.2022 Here are some Naidoc Week activities our children have been enjoying!

14.01.2022 Today we enjoyed painting outside on out brick walls with soapy water, extending on our artistic side and drawing at the craft station aswell as hammering nails into our large orange pumpkins!

14.01.2022 Thank you Future Champs for coming in for our weekly session & showing us how fun it is to be healthy and fit! We love building on our gross motor skills!

14.01.2022 Happy Educator’s Day! Thankyou to beautiful Kirsty and Ainsley for spoiling us staff today!

14.01.2022 Junior Kindy have worked so hard at looking after their sunflowers, they are now as tall as our Educators and are almost ready to bloom! Babies favourite activities are water play and sensory scooping/pouring - every day their fine and gross motor skills are developing stronger. Our Preschoolers are roleplaying Vets this week! This is great for them to learn to share, show compassion and expand on their social and emotional skills.

13.01.2022 Welcome Freckles Library!

12.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all of our amazing Dads

12.01.2022 This morning senior kindy continued on creating their beautiful Fairy houses for our garden, aswell as using play dough and letter cutters to practice name recognition. Our preschoolers are now growing and planting their own sunflower seeds! Gardening helps children engage their curiosity, learn to be resourceful and gain self-confidence.

12.01.2022 Junior Kindy dancing to their favourite song baby shark, followed by pasta and bead threating! Threading helps build on their fine motor skills, it also helps to develop eye-hand coordination and concentration skills.

12.01.2022 A day full of sensory play! Outside out babies and junior kindy friends spent the morning splashing about in their colourful/bubbly water troughs that were fulled with rainbow balls, sealife, sponges, brushes and loofas! Our babies also enjoyed our green rice and sunflower seed trough, which they used the measuring cups to extend on their filling and pouring skills. ... Sensory activities, in addition to being fun and interesting for babies and young children, encourage children to explore and investigate. Furthermore, these activities support children to use the ‘scientific method’ of observing, forming a hypothesis, experimenting and making conclusions.

12.01.2022 Another amazing interactive dance session hosted by Little Groovers! Whilst dance is a good source of fun exercise for young children, it is also a creative outlet. Fun exercise is important but the opportunity to release creativity is as important as exercising and maintaining a balanced diet in the development of healthy children, because of the life skills they will learn.

11.01.2022 It’s really important to look out for each other & check in with one another. Today, take the time to do this with someone at home, at work, your child, a friend or someone in need. This year, more then ever ask these 3 words... #ruokday2020

09.01.2022 What an exciting day!! Our children enjoyed watching our big gum tree at the front of Freckles Kindy get a tidy up! It was fun to watch the workman operate the crane with the cherry picker & watch the chainsaws in action from a distance!

08.01.2022 Thankyou to our gorgeous Hailey and her family for gifting us flowers, we've loved having them in the room on display for everyone to see and smell! Before they withered we thought it would be beautiful to use them in a art experience. They were great for our babie's to stamp with creating different patterns! Using flowers and other objects from outside is a great way to teach our children to be resourceful. Natural objects with open-ended possibilities often encourage children to engage in richer play experiences. Natural materials also have a great sensory benefit. They provide more tactile stimulation for children to help them improve their hand/finger awareness and coordination.

06.01.2022 Today our babies enjoyed playing with Gelli Baff, it was such a fun and unique experience, they loved feeling the different slimey textures, aswell as seeing it transform from water, to slime, to back to water!

06.01.2022 Some scientific exploring, experimenting and investigating this week in Preschool. Science Week 2020

06.01.2022 Lately our beautiful friend has been saying "W ài n" to all her friends and staff, we found out from her father it means I Love You in Chinese. It's so incredible that our little ones are also teaching us things in so many ways. We have many bilingual children at Freckles, and we encourage families to let us know phrases so we can type them up, display them in the room so we can all read and communicate with them so they feel a sense of belonging.

05.01.2022 A super fun day at Freckles! Our new fort in the big yard is now finished and our children are ecstatic! Our Babies, Junior Kindy friends and Educators enjoyed water play today seeing its so hot! We used sea creatures for imaginary play along with bowls and strainers to extend on their hand eye coordination skills.

04.01.2022 Our Preschoolers and Senior Kindy friends were so excited to try out their new skate boards in the yard! they were able to build on their gross motor skills aswell as continuing to learn to share with one another. Other activities outside included washing all our sandpit and mud kitchen toys, this is so much fun for them, but also teaches them how to look after our things, and to be sustainable by using our water trough. This afternoon SK will be making a fruit salad so we decided to paint our favourite fruits that we will be using!

02.01.2022 Our Senior Kindy friend's worked together to make the most delicious fruit salad for our afternoon tea! The experience of creating meals with educators, family and friends can help build their self-confidence and lay the foundation for healthy eating habits.

02.01.2022 Only the happiest children you've ever seen! We love our new Fort!

01.01.2022 A timeline of Preschool's morning which included, role playing in the home corner, magnet connection building, getting creative at the art station, aswell a indoor water play with the frogs since they are an interest of ours because we have now seen 2 beautiful green tree frogs outside due to the rain! Our children are loving science experiments at the moment so outside we tested some errupting volcano cups! Doing science projects helps develop a child's resourcefulness, particularly their skills at goal-setting, planning, and problem-solving. It also nurtures intellectual curiosity, helping children acquire new ways of asking questions and understanding the world

01.01.2022 Our Senior Kindy & Preschoolers love Wednesdays! On alternative weeks we have Little Groovers & Future Champs hold a movement class for the children! Today, Miss Chelsea from Little Groovers put the children through their movement & music class - many have increased awareness of their bodies movements & are also remembering the technical names for some of the dance moves!
