16.01.2022 Dear Fellow Artists. Glow & Lights Festival is offering grants for up to $5000 per project. ... During the three nights of the Gold Coast Show , the show grounds will be transformed into a colourful Glow and Lights Festival. The festival will be an innovative cultural art exhibition never seen before on the Gold Coast using the latest technology in lighting. Inspired by the success of the Berlin Festival of Lights yet exploring fresh perspectives this project engages local artists and cultural arts organisations to use the Show and grounds as a canvas for their Glow / Light Art. We are seeking interested artists to exhibit light installations, 3D sculptures, atmospheric illuminations, lasers, glowing performance artists, projected film, lighting, photography, fireworks and fibre optic illusions. As the sun goes down the target audience of 60,000 + people who attend the Show annually will be immersed in a visual spectacular. The entire venue including buildings, show & circus tents, trees, and grounds will transform into a magnificent, visually interesting and interactive stage for light artwork. A glow/light festival will add to the already carnival festival created by the Show and will create an opportunity to dramatically change the night time landscape of the venue using people and light.
