22.01.2022 Daytime long exposure capture of Wineglass Bay over 8 seconds to showcase the movement of the clouds and the water.
22.01.2022 The first processed images from the Tassie trip ... The Hazards in Freycinet National Park upon dusk, viewed from Coles Bay.
20.01.2022 Daytime long exposure capture of Wineglass Bay over 13 seconds.
19.01.2022 When the grey skies cleared yesterday it was magical ... before that I was battling showers and strong winds all morning. Today is my last full day in Tassie on this trip so I’m hoping for an amazing sky at sunrise to start it off. Fingers crossed!
15.01.2022 Same location but a little more dramatic, taken just 5 minutes after the last photograph shared ... The Hazards amid the twilight of the day. Twilight is a sensational time for landscape photographers, with extra long exposures (using a tripod for stability) creating wonderful movement effects with clouds and water while allowing the vibrance of the colours in the soft warm light to shine through in the image also.
12.01.2022 Location for today’s dawn photoshoot
12.01.2022 Home to dramatic granite peaks including The Hazards mountain range and secluded bays with white sandy beaches, including the renowned Wineglass Bay, Freycinet National Park is situated on Tasmania's beautiful east coast and occupies most of the Freycinet Peninsula.
07.01.2022 One of the many reasons I love landscape photography so much, other than the act of creating something beautiful, is what’s involved in finding the perfect point of view to showcase the scenery. Maybe I’m just a big kid at heart but the adventurous aspect of clambering over rocks and working out how to position myself and my tripod in sometimes awkward spaces is fun. Many of my fondest photographic memories contain an element of it. All done of course abiding by the take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints ethos.
05.01.2022 A behind-the-scenes capture showing tripod in position at Binalong Bay during tonight’s dusk shoot and the unprocessed image on the camera LCD screen. Actual image does not have blown highlights in the sky - my iPhone couldn’t show all the detail in this snap. Such a beautiful spot. Am going to enjoy the next couple of days in the Bay of Fires!
03.01.2022 Frank (my 3 Legged Thing tripod) sticking his neck out to get a better view of Wineglass Bay. It’s been a wonderful day of hiking, landscape photography including daytime long-exposures using the LEE Filters Big Stopper and generally soaking in the beauty and serenity of this incredible place. I love nature and I’ve definitely fallen in love with Freycinet National Park.
02.01.2022 One of my daytime long exposures at Wineglass Bay before the accident that resulted in my LEE Filters Big Stopper being smashed. Heartbreaking! Such incredible colours in those rocks!
