25.01.2022 Hehe... I've got four-eyes from looking at a laptop all day and need a little fun... It's more like "can I go yet?" waiting for the kombi to be finished!! Where do you want to go first? And why??? ... I'd like to visit Dad in SA... on my way to getting a job somewhere interesting, and working on MyCamps on the way... Stop daydreaming, Rhyanna!! And eat something, before you look like the dude in the ute

25.01.2022 ‘Scuse me while I get back to adding listings... and the Brainy One works at fixing the bug... thanks to those that brought it to our attention, please keep the feedback coming.

24.01.2022 Share the road, too...

22.01.2022 Merry Christmas wherever you're camping... May you have friends, family, food, and/or whatever else tickles your fancy!Merry Christmas wherever you're camping... May you have friends, family, food, and/or whatever else tickles your fancy!

22.01.2022 Covid is changing free camping... national parks have a similar system now... will mean less people which is nice as they get too crowded... hope it also means more locations will pop up!

21.01.2022 Not really looking for Nessie, lol. Always looking for new Places... and for those of you looking for My Camps (or maybe just ideas for After Lockdown), here’s the link that should take you straight to where you buy apps (Apple and Android). onelink.to/w72qbb

21.01.2022 The lakes and lagoons in Tassie are gorgeous... no camping here, but it's close to where Rhyanna is working a "normal" job and makes a great place for a picnic dinner. Almost as good as camping, lol.

20.01.2022 They flattened several rest areas in the making of the new stretch of highway (not just this bypass). They have built new ones but they are that stark, modern unwelcoming kind. Ok for a quick nap or meal while going A-B. Two of the old ones south of Grafton are now nice and quiet and make pleasant spots for a break. ... For me that’s the bonus of the new highways: the old roads become tourist drives ! Quiet, less traffic, no trucks...

19.01.2022 For those staying home and saving, saving, saving until they think they are ready to live on the road... there are always plenty of jobs out there, and you can save more than if you are paying city living expenses. Accommodation is usually provided, sometimes food too, and is much cheaper than the average city rent or mortgage payment. Country pubs, tourist attractions, roadhouses in season are good options too. RSA’s are cheap to do online (responsible service of alcohol). ...And there is no expectation of you staying forever, usually it’s three months minimum (that’s a backpacker visa thing) but you can stay until the season ends, the weather changes, and the travel bug bites. People say it’s ok because I was young (19 when I first hit the road), I would suggest if you are older and nearing retirement, it’s more important that you don’t wait. Get out there and have an experience now, and save more money than you would at home. My grandparents waited. They had a caravan as long as I could remember. I was too young to remember Nanna having the first stroke, but the caravan was always there, until they moved into a retirement village and sold it because it would not fit in the driveway. They never got to go anywhere No time like the present We’re going to go again, there’s no real work out here close enough to commute to. We used to do 100km per day just to get to and from a 5 hour shift. We’ll be back tho.

18.01.2022 They offer camping... don't ruin it for the rest of us... pub camp, rest area, National Park, doesn't matter.... Leave only footprints and smiles when you leave...

17.01.2022 Oohhh more campsites coming

15.01.2022 All work and no play... nah. Not us! We still did some work, but this was us having fun...

13.01.2022 The Outback is a beautiful place.... but it can be dangerous too.

13.01.2022 Ghost tour? Yes please!

13.01.2022 Picnic anyone? There are some great spots out there with nice facilities... and some saggy ones, lol. Pick the odd one out Bring on the picnic? Or go inside the van to avoid the flies?

11.01.2022 We like good news, even if it’s a little... late

11.01.2022 Just in case you are wondering... we saw burned tables, melted pit toilet - well there were no walls left around it

09.01.2022 For all of you stuck in Friday arvo peak hour...

08.01.2022 We need stops too... but truck bays are for trucks (and usually pretty bleak)

08.01.2022 Who uses one of these? No-electricity slow cooker, start cooking, pack it up into the thermos-on-steroids and 6 hours later... dinner. Great things. Little big for one person tho unless you like leftovers...

08.01.2022 Quarantine Bay... actually its a cool spot near Eden (day use only) with a nice patch of beach, Indigenous heritage walk, shady trees and a dog off-leash area... C’mon COVID-19, let us out of Quarantine and off our leashes already Hoping the time will be right soon... Where are you going first? Rhyanna is headed to the first state that will have her from NSW, to get a job somewhere interesting for a while. She’s like that

08.01.2022 We’re working on adding the Victorian photos next, just for you

06.01.2022 Yesterday's OurTravels Blog Post: More dollars than Sense...? How do we fund our Vanlifestyle?? There are many ways to fund your travel addiction full time, this is by no means a definitive list, neither have we personally done all of them listed here....Continue reading

04.01.2022 Please put your fires out properly before going to bed or leaving your campsite... the last one we dumped our water was at a rest area in a State Forest that only a few months earlier had been decimated by a huge bushfire... And this was only in Victoria... it happens all over... that State Forest was near our home in NSW...

04.01.2022 Common sense, really. Here in NSW most rest areas are shared, with some having designated parking bays for trucks and caravans. Other states tend to have truck bays OR rest areas without mixing but it’s always sign posted.

02.01.2022 Love stumbling upon roadside stalls when travelling, there’s a banana stall near Coffs Harbour we always simply must stop at.

01.01.2022 Oohhh nice one! We talk about playgrounds, where they are, mention if they are particularly cool like this one and love to see kids getting out and using them.
