25.01.2022 Finished this one yesterday. It’s another miserable rainy day in Melbourne, perfect day for baking chocolate chip cookies and sewing. Cookies first and then another block will be made. ... This is the first time I have used a pattern background in a #modernblossomquilt and I love it, this fabric is one of my favourite low volumes from Art Gallery. First time I have used tilda fabrics and I think they are going to be perfect in this baby quilt. 25.01.2022 I have been working on client quilts for the last week, it’s nice to get back to some sewing. Starting another #modernblossomquilt it will be same, same but different! These are some of my favourite Kaffe Fassett fabrics. I had metres and metres of about 200 different patterns. ... I bought them when I first started quilting, back when the US and Australian dollars were nearly on par. 21.01.2022 Love this quilt! I think it will be perfect for a little baby girl, the fabrics are just so ‘pretty’. I’m quilting it with a simple pantograph called ‘primrose’ and Aurifil thread 6722.... Once this is done, I need to get all of the baby quilts bound, I have been putting it off but it’s definitely time. 16.01.2022 I know, I know it looks like I’m obsessed with this one block.... guilty, I kind of am.... but this is a new pattern I am working on. It’s called ‘Blossoming Garden’ (because I haven’t got enough patterns with the word ‘Blossom’ in it! ) This pattern is going to be a large lap and will have the blossom block, leaves, buds and stems all made with the curved modern blossom templates.... 15.01.2022 Happy 30th birthday Meagan Jayne! So proud of this young lady. She is currently 32 weeks pregnant and is spending her birthday in hospital waiting for her first babies early arrival. Meagan has spent many days in hospital and has had countless scans, blood tests and monitoring. She has had to do it all alone because of Covid restrictions. ... She has never once complained, always trying her best to give her new baby the best possible start in life. As a family we are so proud of her and can’t wait to meet our newest family member. 03.01.2022 Definitely struggling with my stem and leaves, this is my first attempt, needs a bit more work. I hate the bulkiness of the seam between the flying geese and the leaves. I will put a thin background strip, same as the one dividing the petals in between the two. ... Maybe all of the leaves should have been facing the same way, I will have a play today and see what I come up with.
