22.01.2022 Ain'tnodeeldun goals reconsidered Racing.com's Grace Ramage reported: The spring goals of exciting staying three-year-old Ain'tnodeeldun are being reconsidered by connections.... Trainers Anthony and Sam Freedman will weigh up their options with the son of Dundeel, who impressively won his maiden at Sale by five lengths last Wednesday. The Victoria Derby has been flagged by the stable as the main target up to this point and while he still may head in that direction, Sam Freemdan explained that another option has been discussed and a decision will be made in the coming days. "We are just giving thought to his preparation at this stage," Sam Freedman said. "We are going to sleep on it for a couple of days and make a decision as to where we go with him. "He's a colt, he's got a nice pedigree on him and he's definitely going to stay a trip. "But we might do the right thing by him this preparation and give him a light spring. "There's a chance he won't run this weekend, maybe he'll go to a 1600-metre Benchmark 70 at Caulfield in a couple of weeks' time and then the 1800-metre race on Melbourne Cup Day which Russian Camelot ran in last year. "Then we might put him aside and look at the autumn. "But nothing has been firmed up, no decision has been made but that's a potential option." Warning won the VRC Derby last year for the stable and has been their yardstick for Ain'tnodeeldun's campaign this spring, having followed a very similar program so far. However, Freedman added that there are notable differences between the pair. "Warning was a little bit different, he was always going to cop that preparation, firstly he was a gelding and secondly he was physically very mature for his age," Freedman said. "(Ain'tnodeeldun) is a November foal, he's not actually three yet, and physically he looks like he's probably 12 months away. "Dad (Anthony) had a good look at him yesterday and probably thought it might not be the right thing to hammer him to go to the Derby." Ain'tnodeeldun currently sits on the fourth line of betting in Sportsbet's all-in Victoria Derby market at $11.

21.01.2022 Freedman Racing Saturday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have three runners at Flemington. Flemington (Good 4) Race 3 (1.05pm) Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes Mares 1400m... No.11 Southbank Billy Egan Fastest Rock mare resuming after a disappointing Autumn campaign. She has had three jump outs to prepare and has continued to please us as we get deeper into the preparation. She has been ready to race for several weeks and is forward enough to run out a strong 1400 metres. If she is at her best, she is capable of running a cheeky race here. Fixed Odds $46.00 & $9.00 Race 7 (3.35pm) Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes WFA 1600m No.10 Warning Billy Egan VRC Derby winner resuming off the back of two Mornington jump outs. He is going to be suited to the 1600 metres first up but does have improvement to come with his main aim being the Melbourne Cup. He is unbeaten at Flemington in two starts and would be advantaged if the predicted rain eventuates. He could be a stayer that sprints well fresh. Fixed Odds $61.00 & $14.00 Race 9 (4.50pm) Listed Cap D’Antibes Stakes 3YO Fillies 1100m No.7 Supreme Idea Mark Zahra Ran well in the Quezette Stakes at Caulfield after being caught wide on the speed. She is a filly that would appreciated some easing in the track throughout the day. She is unknown up the straight but having drawn wide she is likely to have the outside rail to guide her. She does need to improve if she is to continue deeper into the spring. Fixed Odds $35.00 & $9.00

18.01.2022 Son of a gun well-backed to make winning debut Racenet reported: Bloodstock supremo James Harron achieved his Golden Slipper dream with Capitalist and now it is hoped history can repeat with the champion galloper’s expensive son.... Harron’s green and gold colours have become a familiar sight on Australian racetracks in recent years and on Saturday plenty of eyes will be on $750,000 colt Forbes who has been well-backed to make a winning debut in the Listed Merson Cooper Stakes at Sandown. Brazen Boy, the fellow first-starter and Phillip Stokes-trained gelding who recently smashed his trial rivals by 14 lengths in Adelaide, went up the $1.80 favourite with TAB but has eased to $2.40. That’s because Forbes has been a big mover, after opening at $3.80 he is now into $2.80 and holds double the money of Brazen Boy in the TAB’s hold on the race. Harron has often been associated with the Peter and Paul Snowden training partnership but Forbes will be his first runner for Anthony and Sam Freedman. There are seven two-year-old colts we have with them and this one is the first one to step out at the races, Harron said. We have admired what they were doing and what their stable was doing they are a smaller sort of set-up to some of the bigger stables and we could see they were getting quite incredible results and the horses were really performing very well. A number of our partners in our colt partnership are from Melbourne and it was sort of always a bit of a natural progression to have a presence there. Despite not being seen at the races yet, such is the market opinion of Forbes that he is a $26 chance in next year’s Golden Slipper. The Gold Coast Magic Millions in January could also be a target, depending on how the son of 2016 Magic Millions and Golden Slipper winner Capitalist performs on debut on Saturday. He’s just had a couple of little jumpouts at Mornington and this was a race which Anthony and Sam were keen to run him in, Harron said. He’s only having his first start but he is a big and strong type of horse. We will learn a bit more about him on Saturday. What happens after Saturday isn’t something we haven‘t discussed too much as yet, we haven’t set anything in stone. This colt was sold for $750,000 one of the higher-priced Capitalists and he has a nice pedigree and has a very good physique and is a strong, forward and mature kind of horse. But he doesn’t know how much he cost. Until you get them to the races, you don’t really know what you have got under the bonnet.

18.01.2022 Frost Flowers blooms for Kah Racing.com's Andrew Eddy reported: Jamie Kah wasted no time in reasserting her position as Victoria’s leading rider by claiming Melbourne first race for 2021 aboard impressive debut filly Frost Flowers at Flemington.... It was no ordinary win either with both Kah and the Anthony and Sam Freedman stable predicting a bright autumn ahead for the Godolphin-bred and owned filly, who is on a path to the $1.5 million Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 20. Frost Flowers is a half sister to the colt Hanseatic (Street Boss), who won three juvenile stakes races for Freedman and Godolphin. Bookmakers did not miss the performance from the daughter of Frosted either with Sportsbet winding Frost Flowers’ Blue Diamond price onto the third line at $11 following the length and a half victory. Kah said: "I knew she had talent and the team did too, but she’s just been so green and we haven’t really been able to see her do that yet." "Down the straight, to do that is exceptional. She’s been good in her jump outs, nothing spectacular yet, but the team brought her to Flemington the other day and that was probably the difference between her winning and losing today. "She was so green the other day at the jump outs and I never really got to have a decent feel of her, but today she was an absolute professional." Frost Flowers ($5.50) sat back off the pace but moved through stylishly on the inside of her rivals to score a soft win over Tayla’s Moment ($12) with three lengths to I Am Enchanting ($14) in third place. Brad Taylor, the racing manager for the Freedmans, said it was planned for Frost Flowers to re-appear on Australia Day in a preview for the Blue Diamond. "That was pretty impressive," Taylor said. "When they came to the middle of the track, it’s always hard for a two-year-old at their first start to come along the inside like that but at the 300 (metre mark) with Jamie (Kah) swinging its was easy watching after that. "She’s a filly that’s going to improve. She’s done everything right from the day we got her. She was professional here today - she was professional in the mounting yard. She’s a nice filly, she’s got the pedigree to back it up and it’s nice to train another winner for Godolphin."

17.01.2022 Freedman Racing Thursday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have one runner at Moe. Moe (Good 4) Race 7 (4.30pm) BM64 1014m... No.9 Patented Lachie Neindorf (a) Was a game effort when resuming over 1000 metres at Echuca two weeks ago. He does step up to Benchmark 64 grade but he does strip fitter having only had one jump out prior to his first start. He is going to require luck in running with plenty of speed inside of him but at his best he can be competitive. Fixed Odds $4.50 & $1.75 See more

17.01.2022 Freedman Racing Tuesday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have three runners at Sale. Sale (Good 4) Race 2 (1.30pm) Maiden 2YO 1110m... No.6 Fleurs De Lis Jye McNeil Raced very greenly on debut and found the 1000 metres around Cranbourne too sharp. She is better suited to the bigger Sale circuit and the step up to 1200 metres. In a small and open field, she has each way claims. Fixed Odds $2.80 & $1.40 Race 7 (4.00pm) BM64 Fillies & Mares 1210m No.7 Audacious Heart Jye McNeil Resuming performance over 1000 metres was very good. It was the plan to get her to settle over the shorter trip which she did, so she is ready for the 1200 metres today. She has taken good natural improvement from that outing and looks well placed to run a nice race here today. Fixed Odds $3.50 & $1.50 Race 8 (4.30pm) BM64 1110m No.6 Limited Vision Jye McNeil Disappointed last start as a short price favourite after winning well here first up. We have changed his training since and he has responded well to that. We have been pleased with his work leading into this event so are expecting an improved performance. Fixed Odds $4.20 & $1.60

15.01.2022 Flowers set for light spring Racing.com's Ryan Reynolds reported: Talented mare Realm Of Flowers will have just a light spring with connections turning their eyes to a big autumn.... The Group 3 SA Classic winner made her return at Cranbourne on Sunday, beaten just 1.4 lengths over 1400m at benchmark 78 level. The daughter of So You Think has nominations for both the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups, however co-trainer Sam Freedman said that was unlikely to be the path they take with her. (We will) probably head towards a Matriarch. She had a really busy first half of the year, she didn’t really have a spell from January through to when she won in Adelaide, Freedman said. She had a nice break but we probably won’t give her a really hard spring. She is probably going to be best in the autumn on some more rain affected tracks in Sydney. I think the Matriarch could be a really nice goal for her this time in. Realm of Flowers is currently $67 for the Caulfield Cup with Sportsbet and $201 for the Melbourne Cup. Freedman said Realm Of Flowers had pulled up well from Sunday’s first-up run and would now head to a 1600m race at The Valley.

15.01.2022 Beaten but stable vows to target Sydney autumn with La Mexicana Herald Sun's Gilbert Gardiner reported: Promising filly La Mexicana will be set for the Group 1 Surround Stakes in Sydney next year after finishing in the money again.... The daughter of I Am Invincible sustained a strong gallop in the Twilight Glow Stakes at Sandown, stretching out beyond 1200m for the first time, and only found the smart Hindaam better in the finish. La Mexicana, who won the Listed Crockett Stakes on Cox Plate Day, boasts three wins all on rain-affected tracks and two placings in five career starts. Her performance on Saturday was enough for co-trainer Sam Freedman to pencil in the Sydney autumn as a viable option and especially if she strikes wet ground. She got pestered a little bit in the run and had to spend too much early, Freedman said. She got the trip but just had to do too much work. We think she’ll be better with give in the ground so we’ll look to Sydney and the Surround Stakes in the autumn. It could prove to be a nice form race with the fancied Highly Discreet and Way To Go Paula making up good ground to round out the top five despite interrupted runs. The Twilight Glow produced the impressive Xilong last year for Tony and Calvin McEvoy, with that filly going on to run third in the Surround at Randwick.

15.01.2022 Steel Prince to chase Cup run in Bart Cummings Thoroughbrednews.com.au's Craig Brennan reported: The connections of Steel Prince will be hoping to again win their way into the $8 million Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) at Flemington on November 3 through a ballot free race. ... Steel Prince won the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes (2800m) at Flemington in May last year which took the pressure off trainer Anthony Freedman gaining a Melbourne Cup start with the gelding. After a good early start to his campaign, Steel Prince was a dramatic late scratching from the Herbert Power Stakes at Caulfield last October and took to running in the Geelong Cup. Steel Prince finished seventh in that race before running ninth behind Vow And Declare in the Melbourne Cup, collecting $160,000 in prize money. The gelding has only had two starts since last year’s Melbourne Cup, the latest finishing third behind Orderofthegarter and Chapada in the Group 3 MRC Foundation Cup (2000m) at Caulfield on Saturday. Sam Freedman, who now trains in partnership with his father Anthony, said Steel Prince would now run in the Group 3 Bart Cummings (2500m) at Flemington on October 3 and join stablemate Warning in the Melbourne Cup. The Bart Cummings affords the winner a ballot exemption into the Melbourne Cup. He’ll go to the Bart Cummings in a couple of weeks and hopefully book a ticket into the Melbourne Cup as he’s well down in the weights, Freedman said. We’d love to get another runner in it, but it was good to see him back racing so well. He probably got a bit tired in the last 50 or 100 metres so there’s good improvement there. He’ll be going in third-up so he’ll probably be at his peak for the Bart Cummings which he’ll need to be at. Freedman said it was hard to gauge whether Steel Prince had made any improvement on last year. He’s been about the same, Freedman said. He was running well last year but he just wasn’t drawing a (good) barrier. Him drawing a gate is pretty important for him because he can be put into the race. Now he’s fit we can really start to roll forward on him and have him in the first three or four.

15.01.2022 Freedman Racing Saturday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have three runners at Ballarat. Ballarat (Good 4) Race 6 (3.05pm) BM78 Fillies & Mares 1200m... No.13 Lunakorn Mark Zahra Had to do too much work after a freshen when running second at Mornington last start. Back onto a bigger track and with that run under her belt, she should be ready to run a good race. Mark Zahra gets back aboard having ridden her in two victories last preparation. We are expecting a good performance here. Fixed Odds $4.60 & $1.90 Race 7 (3.45pm) BM78 1600m No.11 Starcaster Jye McNeil Was a forgive run second up after being caught three-deep the trip at Flemington after a top run first up. Now third-up, he strips fitter and he will appreciate the step up to 1600 metres. If he does everything right, he is a talented galloper that can certainly take out an event like this. Fixed Odds $27.00 & $6.50 Race 10 (5.40pm) BM84 1400m No.20 Aussie Nugget Jye McNeil European galloper resuming having only had one jump out to prepare for today’s 1400 metre assignment. First up last preparation he was only narrowly beaten over 1400 metres by Black Sail and that reads like good form for an event like this. He is going to require luck from barrier one but he could surprise at good odds. Fixed Odds $27.00 & $7.50

15.01.2022 Rock won't be thrown in to deep end Racing.com's Ryan Reynolds reported: Trainers Anthony and Sam Freedman won’t rush to raise the bar with promising three-year-old Siren Rock.... The son of Lohnro will contest a 3YO benchmark 70 handicap at Flemington on Saturday, but don’t expect the stable to aim for the autumn just yet. The impressive Warrnambool maiden winner will be given time to rise through the grades, with a potential crack at the Adelaide carnival on the agenda. It will be his third run on Saturday and that might just be enough for him at this stage, Team Freedman's racing manager Brad Taylor said. We may look to give him a freshen up. Thinking off the top of our heads, a race like the Adelaide Guineas, those races, might be nice for him at the back end of autumn. He is a horse we will take through the grades. We are in no rush to set the bar high, we will try and win a few more races and pick up prizemoney for the owners. That’s the first and foremost thing. Taylor said the horse had come through that impressive win at Warrnambool on December 17 well. He was nominated for Caulfield on Boxing Day, but it was on the quick back up and he’s a horse that doesn’t hold that much condition, Taylor said. So the nine day back up probably didn’t suit him that well and he is better with his races spaced.

15.01.2022 Freedman Racing Wednesday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have four runners at Flemington. Flemington (Good 4) Race 1 (1.00pm) 2YO 900m... No.4 Ginger Creek Damian Lane More Than Ready colt making his race day debut. He jumped out nicely down the Flemington straight last Tuesday over 800 metres behind today’s favourite General Beau. Having only had one jump out, he is going to take plenty of improvement from today’s outing but can be competitive. Fixed Odds $6.50 & $2.05 Race 2 (1.35pm) BM64 3YO Fillies 1000m No.6 La Mexicana Jamie Kah An I Am Invincible filly that was ultra-impressive on debut winning easily over 1100 metres in May. She has had two jump outs to prepare for her first up assignment with her second jump out being the better of the two. She is unknown down the straight but will jump and put herself on speed which could aid her. A talented filly that rates amongst the main chances here. Fixed Odds $3.20 & $1.40 Race 3 (2.10pm) BM64 3YO 1400m No.5 Toyetic Damian Lane It was a good run against the bias at Bendigo first up over 1300 metres when finishing fourth. He has had the winkers added to his gear and from barrier one he should be able to hold a closer position. He is going to appreciate the extra 100 metres and the long Flemington straight. In a strong race, he should be in the finish. Fixed Odds $5.50 & $2.00 Race 4 (2.45pm) Oaks Trial 3YOF 1800m No.8 Perfect World Luke Currie A three-year-old filly that continues to race well this preparation. She hasn’t been helped by wide barriers in her last three starts and is again drawn wide here. If circumstances permit we will look to ride her with cover like she was three starts ago. She looks like she will enjoy the 1800 metres and with luck in running, she can win this. Fixed Odds $4.20 & $1.70 Race 5 (3.20pm) BM70 1100m No.3 Messerschmitt Will Price (a3) Pulled up with excuses when resuming at Caulfield in a strong Benchmark 78 1100 metre event that was won by Express Pass. He drop back to Benchmark 70 grade and does get in well at the weights with the claim of Will Price. He is a winner at the track and distance in this grade in January and a repeat of that performance would be no surprise. Fixed Odds $13.00 & $3.80

14.01.2022 Freedman previews strong Saturday team Racing.com's Roger Oldridge reported: The two-year-old Listed Merson Cooper Stakes at Sandown tomorrow will, by all likelihood, showcase the talent punters will want to follow into the Autumn and, Team Freedman is hoping, like Hanseatic last year, they again have the pick of the crop.... One of eight first starters in the race, their colt, Forbes, sits second in the Sportsbet market behind the Phillip Stokes trained Brazen Boy, who won a trial at Morphetville by 14 lengths. He was a high-priced yearling, but he was probably one of the picks of the sale, so he was always going to make that money, trainer Sam Freedman said of the colt by Capitalist. He has always shown a nice share of ability. We probably haven’t put him under a lot of pressure at home or in his trials so we just him to get into this race and then we can see how he handles the whole occasion. Whilst Forbes is a race day unknown, La Mexicana isn’t and Freedman is hopeful the filly handles both the firmer ground and her first crack at the 1400m, which genetic testing early this year indicated she should do with ease. It came back to say she should get a mile to 2000m, so if she can run a mile or further she will be a very good filly, but we will find out how she goes at the 1400 tomorrow, Freedman said. Regardless of the result, tomorrow will be her final run before a spell ahead of an Autumn campaign likely to include races at the top flight. She’s got the physical (make-up) that she should keep growing and maturing into the Autumn and you have got to set your sights high and we can always lower them if she doesn’t quite measure up to that. Homesman is very much a known commodity for Freedman and his father/co-trainer Anthony and, whilst the seven-year-old is favourite for the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes, he’s no guarantee to start if the track gets too firm. He just jarred up a touch on that really firm track, Freedman said of his Cup day start at Flemington. He heads into it in really good form and yeah, I think he will run a much better race than he did at Flemington. We would just be really mindful if it was to get really firm on what we would do so I think we will have a chat with Lloyd and Nick (Williams) and see to what extent we would be running him on a really firm track. The best hope of their remaining runners is the lightly raced six-year-old Kenya, who comes into the Sandown Stakes off a first-up win in the Peninsula Cup on November 1. Where we’ve possibly got the edge is that we are fresh on the scene, you know, we haven’t had a taxing spring with him. He’s only had the one start, so he is still thriving and took some nice improvement from his first up win.

13.01.2022 Freedman Racing Friday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have one runner at Moonee Valley. Moonee Valley (Good 4) Race 1 (5.15pm) BM64 3YO 1600m... No.2 Criminal Billy Egan Winner of two of his past three starts over 1600 metres. He has been given three weeks between runs and has trained on well since the Cranbourne victory. The middle barrier is ideal in this small field as the rail is out 7 metres and ideally, he wouldn’t want to be too far from the leaders. He looks well placed to win in this event but will require a good ride by Billy. Fixed Odds $2.00 & $1.35 See more

13.01.2022 Freedmans tread familiar Derby path Racing.com's Brad Bishop reported: The 'mile' maiden at Sale in late September is not what you would call a traditional lead-up to the Victoria Derby, but that might change if Freedman Racing has its way.... The Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained Ain'tnodeeldun raced his way to the $12 third line in Sportsbet's Derby market with a brilliant win in Thursday's 1615-metre event. It was a much more impressive performance than stablemate Warning produced in the corresponding race last year, which proved a springboard to Derby success, and the 2500-metre Group 1 on October 31 is also where Ain'tnodeeldun is headed. "We brought last year's Derby winner to this race last year and he couldn't get the job done, but this guy is on a similar path," Freedman Racing's racing manager Brad Taylor said. "He's always been a colt that's shown us a really good amount of ability and it's good to see him get the maiden out of the way. It's a big relief to see them come out and do that." Ain'tnodeeldun ($2.10), a son of Dundeel, settled well midfield and flowed into the race rounding the home turn under Damian Lane before surging clear late to score by five lengths from $6 second favourite Perennial. "You've got to keep the work up to him, so we still think there's plenty of improvement to come and the way he relaxed there and the way he hit the line, when he gets up to 2000 metres and hopefully a Derby trip, we'll see the best of him," Taylor said. Warning bounced back from his Sale defeat to win the Listed UCI Stakes at Flemington on Turnbull Stakes Day and Taylor said there was a chance Ain'tnodeeldun would head there too. He might not be the only Sale winner heading to that race, with Tell Me Again, who won the Benchmark 64 half an hour later, also likely to run in that event. Ain'tnodeeldun's win completed a short-priced winning double for the Freedmans, who earlier won the $35,000 WorkforceXS Maiden Plate (1415m) with Miss Conduct. The three-year-old daughter of Dissident, who is a half-sister to Masked Crusader, scored a narrow win as a $2.10 favourite at her third racetrack appearance and the team is hopeful she will also prove a black-type performer. "Whether she features in some black-type fillies races this spring or whether we wait until the autumn, we're hoping she might be able to measure up to that sport of standard in time," Sam Freedman said.

12.01.2022 Freedman Racing Monday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have one runner at Echuca. Echuca (Good 4) Race 2 (1.35pm) Maiden 3YO Fillies 1200m... No.8 Melisende Daniel Moor Put her disappointing last start performance down to the soft track conditions. Back on a good track today will be beneficial as will the inside barrier, it should allow her to be closer in the running. She does need to improve on both performance this preparation but on what she has shown us at home, she is better than a maiden galloper. Fixed Odds $7.50 & $1.85 See more

11.01.2022 Freedman Racing Thursday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have three runners at Sale. Sale (Good 4) Race 1 (1.00pm) Maiden 3YO Fillies 1200m... No.1 Designs Jye McNeil A Vancouver filly making her race day debut after two jump outs this preparation. She got back in her last jump out and hit the line strongly over 900 metres. She is bred to get over a trip as her mother was a New Zealand Oaks runner up. She will get back from a middle barrier and look for her to be doing her best late. Fixed Odds $11.00 & $3.50 Race 3 (2.00pm) Maiden 1400m No.13 Miss Conduct Jye McNeil Got well back and raced wide when resuming over 1300 metres at Geelong. The inside barrier will ensure she travels closer and has an easier run throughout today. She strips fitter for the runner and the extra 100 metres today ideal being by Dissident. A filly we have a good opinion of and we’d be disappointed if she wasn’t in the finish. Fixed Odds $2.35 & $1.35 Race 5 (3.00pm) Maiden 1600m No.8 Ain’tnodeeldun Damian Lane Ran on well from the back of the field on a track that favoured those on the speed. He has had a 1200 metre jump out at Flemington in between which he won and is now suited to the step up to 1600 metres. With the step up in trip hopefully he can find himself midfield and if so, he is a top chance. Fixed Odds $2.40 & $1.35

11.01.2022 Freedman Racing Saturday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have four runners at Caulfield. Caulfield (Good 4) Race 2 (1.30pm) BM64 1400m... No.10 Tragic Jamie Kah Has raced well through this entire preparation without winning. She stays at the 1400 metres after a solid performance at Caulfield last start. Jamie Kah replaces the stable apprentice but she does have to contend with the outside barrier. She has the addition of blinkers for the first time and they looked to have sharpened her up in her work at home. She will require luck from the barrier and if things go her way she has each way claims. Fixed Odds $4.80 & $1.90 Race 4 (2.40pm) BM70 1200m No.8 Evening Glory Jamie Kah Returned with solid performance at Moonee Valley when first past the post but lost the race on protest. He does step up to Benchmark 70 grade but an inside barrier and Jamie Kah in the saddle will aid his chances. Three weeks between runs and staying at the 1200 metres is ideal and a repeat of his first up performance would see him in the finish here. Fixed Odds $7.00 & $2.30 Race 6 (4.00pm) BM70 3YO 1100m No.2 Yulong Command Jamie Kah Has won two of his last three starts and only miss was when he stepped up to 1400 metres. He was good winning at Moonee Valley over 1200 metres last start and the 1100 metres of today’s assignment looks like it will suit this speedy three-year-old. He will put himself right on speed from the inside barrier and he looks good each way value at his current quote. Fixed Odds $11.00 & $3.30 Race 9 (5.55pm) BM84 1600m No.14 Aussie Nugget Michael Dee Didn’t get all favours but finished strongly when second up over 1600 metres at Flemington last start. He has improved further from that performance and last preparation, he was a winner third up over 1600 metres when on a two-week back up. If he is able to get clear galloping room from the 600 metres, we expect him to be very competitive here having to carry only 54.5kgs. Fixed Odds $4.40 & $1.85

10.01.2022 Freedman Racing Warrnambool Day 1 Preview Today, Freedman Racing have two runners at Warrnambool. Warrnambool (Heavy 9) Race 8 (3.30pm) Open 1700m... No.3 Bedford John Allen Tavistock gelding resuming after a 31-week break. His Cranbourne trial and Balnarring jump out have indicated he has returned in superb order as he doesn’t usually trial that well at the start of a preparation. He gets conditions to suit given he has won two from five on a heavy track. 1700 metres is the ideal trip first up, having had a long build up to this resuming run. Not the worst $20 shot. Fixed Odds $20.00 & $5.00 Race 10 (4.30pm) BM64 1100m No.11 Show Some Decorum Damian Lane Arguably should have won first up after being slow away and then getting held up at a vital stage. The wide barrier is probably going to be an advantage later in the day and he has performed previously on a heavy track. The step up to 1100 metres suits and with even luck, he is capable of being in the finish here. Fixed Odds $5.00 & $2.00

09.01.2022 Santa Ana Lane confirmed for 2020 TAB Everest Five-time Group One winner Santa Ana Lane will represent Coolmore Stud in this year’s $15 million The TAB Everest run at Royal Randwick on October 17. Santa Ana Lane was runner-up in both the 2019 Everest behind Yes Yes Yes and 2020 Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes behind Nature Strip, both run over 1200 metres at Randwick.... It’s a great privilege to have Santa Ana Lane in the Everest for the third year running said co-trainer Anthony Freedman. Given his record at Randwick over 1200m we were confident he would receive a slot so it has been our sole focus this preparation. It’s a race that continues to grow in popularity each year and we are proud to be involved. We’re very pleased to be teaming up with Coolmore as they have been long time clients of the stable. Coolmore tasted success in the 2019 TAB Everest as part owners of Yes Yes Yes. The Rubick colt was the first three-year-old to win the race and now stands at their Hunter Valley farm. Coolmore has a long-standing relationship with the Freedman family and we are delighted to partner with Anthony and Sam with Santa Ana Lane in this year’s Everest said Coolmore’s Tom Magnier. Santa Ana Lane is out of a Fastnet Rock mare and he is one of the best sprinters we have seen in the past decade. Anthony and Sam are very happy with the horse and we believe if he brings his best, he will be hard to beat. The William Street Syndicate are hoping it’s third time lucky for their talented eight-year-old Santa Ana Lane. It’s very exciting to have Santa Ana Lane in the race for the third time said William Street Syndicate co-manager Michael Clemenger. It’s great to join with Coolmore to race our five-time Group 1 winner and we are hopeful he can go one better than last year. Santa Ana Lane will resume in Saturday’s Group 2 Gilgai Stakes (1200m) at Flemington. No jockey has been booked for The TAB Everest.

09.01.2022 Freedman Racing Friday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have two runners at Geelong. Geelong (Soft 7) Race 2 (1.30pm) Maiden 3YO 1321m... No.20 Oregon Pinot Michael Dee Found the 1200 metres too sharp first up at Donald two weeks ago. We have added blinkers to her gear hoping she can find and extra couple of lengths. The step up in distance looks to be ideal and she should get a good run from barrier five. She does need to improve but the blinkers have had a positive effect so rates as an each way chance at odds. Fixed Odds $20.00 & $4.80 Race 4 (2.30pm) Maiden 3YO Fillies 1121m No.8 Melisende Ben Melham Ran well without threatening when resuming at Pakenham on the synthetic. She is back onto the turf today and has had the blinkers added to her gear. She has worked really well in them since her first up run and strips fitter which will enhance her chances. With luck in running from the awkward barrier, she is good value at her current quote. Fixed Odds $20.00 & $4.60

Morphettville (Good 4) Race 5 (2.35pm) Group 2 Queen Of The South Fillies & Mares 1600m... No.3 Lunakorn William Pike Appeared to be disappointing last week but the way the race was run, the back markers were given no chance, so it was a forgive run. Barrier three is a big advantage here, it should ensure she is able to settle closer in the running which will enhanceher chances. At her best, she is capable of figuring in the finish in this event. Fixed Odds $6.00 & $2.20 Race 7 (3.55pm) Group 1 TAB Classic Fillies & Mares 1200m No.5 Lyre Luke Currie Runner up in this race last year and her form lines leading into the race this year are better. She was an eye catcher, late flashing home, as she does, in the Listed Bel Espirt Stakes at Caulfield last start. With her, you’d rather be drawn out wide than in close. If they go a good clip and they're making ground, the outside barrier could be a good gate. Don’t leave her out. Fixed Odds $12.00 & $3.80 No.7 Prophet’s Thumb Craig Newitt A mare that is going really well this preparation, after being slow away at Caulfield last start, she ran strong closing sectionals. The inside barrier should allow her to race closer to the speed today. If she reproduces her Newmarket Handicap performance there is no reason to suggest she couldn’t be in the finish of this open event. Good each way value. Fixed Odds $27.00 & $7.50 Race 8 (4.35pm) Group 1 Australasian Oaks 3YO Fillies 2000m No.2 Chica Fuerte Todd Pannell Put in an uncharacteristically poor performance in the Port Adelaide Guineas (1800m) last start. There was no particular reasons for the poor performance so we have put a line through the run and her work on Tuesday was very good. She has travelled to Adelaide a lot better this week which is a positive. A Group 3 winner over 2000 metres in the spring that shouldn’t be forgotten here. Fixed Odds $27.00 & $7.50 Sandown (Good 4) Race 7 (3.40pm) BM70 3YO Fillies 1300m No.16 Miss Conduct Damien Thornton Ran good closing sectionals coming from last to finish third at Bendigo. The spacious Sandown circuit is going to suit this filly, along with an inside barrier. She is certainly capable of mixing it with this level of fillies. She represents good each way value in this event. Fixed Odds $11.00 & $3.50

He was good in a Werribee jump out with the addition of blinkers last week. He does have to take on the older horses first up and tackle sa soft track for the first time. He has handled these surfaces in jump outs and got through them well. Top chance. Fixed Odds $1.90 & $1.18 Race 5 (2.53pm) 3YO 1845m No.10 Designs Jim Byrne Resented the cross over nose band when standing in the barriers at Caulfield last Saturday. She has sebsequently jumped out well over 1100 metres to prepare for the step up to 1800 metres. She is unknown on a soft track but a classy filly that should make her presence felt here. Fixed Odds $5.00 & $2.00

No.5 Groundswell Damian Lane Four-year-old now returning as a gelding. He has had three jump outs to prepare for his first up assignment and was impressive winning a Flemington jump out in fast time last Friday. The good track is what he requires and if he brings his best he will be in the finish. Fixed Odds $4.80 & $1.75 Race 6 (3.35pm) Listed Jim Moloney Stakes 3YO Fillies 1600m No.6 Agreeable Damian Lane Her last two runs over distances short of her best have had merit. She has been screaming out for the 1400 metres which she gets today. Her natural racing pattern is to get back so the wide barrier isn’t too much of a concern but will require a good tempo. In an even line up, she has to rate amongst the main chances. Fixed Odds $5.00 & $2.00 Race 7 (4.15pm) Group 3 Fountain Cup 2000m No.6 Steel Prince Jye McNeil Put a line through his first up run, he drew the outside barrier and was force to go back to last and never got into the race. His closing sectionals indicated the run was better than it reads on paper. This is the first time he has drawn a decent barrier in a long time so he will be able to race a lot closer. It would not surprise us if he bounces back to his best form here. Fixed Odds $16.00 & $4.40 Race 9 (5.25pm) Group 3 How Now Stakes Mares 1200m No.6 Lyre Luke Currie Super performance first up after being held up at a vital stage to run second behind Diamond Effort over 1100 metres. She is going to get a similar run to last start and with a touch more luck, she will be hard to beat, especially with just 55kgs. Fixed Odds $2.35 & $1.35 Morphettville (Good 4) Race 8 (5.05pm) Listed W H Wylie Handicap 1100m No.3 Prophet’s Thumb Jessica Eaton (a) Talented sprinting mare that is resuming at her best distance. She has had two jump outs to prepare for today’s Listed race. Drawn a good barrier and an inform jockey engaged to ride are both positives. She heads into the race in top order and we have been satisfied with her jump outs which have been on unsuitable soft tracks. Each way chance here. Fixed Odds $9.50 & $2.35 Tatura (Good 4) Race 2 (12.46pm) Maiden 1100m No.8 Glamzelle Dean Holland Caught the eye on debut over 1100 metres at Kyneton when flashing home for third. He is going to require luck in running from an awkward barrier but is capable of being in the finish here. Fixed Odds $2.60 & $1.35 Race 7 (4.30pm) BM64 1210m No.3 Office Jim Dean Holland Was held up in early in the straight when flashing home for fourth at Bendigo last start. He was runner up to Sunlight in this event last year when carrying 60kgs but drops to 57kgs this year. We believe he is slightly more forward than last year so a repeat of that performance would see him in the finish of this years edition. Fixed Odds $4.40 & $1.55 Race 5 (2.25pm) Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes 3YO Fillies 1600m No.8 Chica Fuerte Ben Melham Both runs this preparation have been encouraging, she ran second to Camborne at Bendigo and he ran well in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude last Saturday. 03.01.2022 Frontman chases Queensland riches Racing.com's Andrew Eddy reported: He's still a maiden but Redoute's Choice colt Frontman is in line to race for two $1 million races in Queensland this winter after scoring in a jumpout at Werribee on Monday.... With $1m on offer for both the Queensland Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) on May 29 and the Group 1 J.J. Atkins Stakes (1600m) on June 12, co-trainer Sam Freedman says the stable hopes Frontman can prove his worthiness for the trip in the trial. "There is every chance that he'll get up there (Queensland)," Freedman said after the trial. "We are just giving a bit of thought to where we will kick him off. He was in last Thursday, but we pulled him out to give him another trial. "He trialed really nicely this morning with the blinkers on and he's a horse that hopefully will measure up and we can get him to Queensland. "He was very good (when second) at his first start behind Lightsaber then he regressed a little bit (when placed fifth) when he met him again next, so we gave him a break and he's come back really well." The colt is part-owned by a number of racing's heavyweights, including bloodstock expert James Harron, as well as members of the Ingham family and his breeders Arrowfield Stud. "Ultimately, he's a horse that will probably keep improving as a three-year-old," he said. "Redoute's Choices tend to get better with time and racing so he's still got a little bit to learn but he's on an upward spiral."

02.01.2022 Freedman Racing Saturday Preview Today, Freedman Racing have seven runners at Sandown. Sandown (Good 4) Race 1 (12.15pm) Listed Merson Cooper Stakes 2YO 1000m... No.5 Forbes Jye McNeil Capitalist colt making his race day debut. He has impressed winning both his Mornington jump outs in preparation for this 1000 metre assignment. He has shown he has plenty of ability in his early education but will take plenty of improvement from the experience. In a race with plenty of unknowns, he looks one of the main chances. Fixed Odds $2.60 & $1.20 Race 2 (12.45pm) Listed Twilight Glow Stakes 3YO Fillies 1400m No.1 La Mexicana Jamie Kah Show plenty of fight to win the Listed Crockett Stakes at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate Day. On that occasion she raced like she is ready for the step up to 1400 metres. Her only defeat came on a good track but that was first up over 1000 metres, a distance short of her best. Should be hard to beat again. Fixed Odds $2.70 & $1.35 Race 4 (1.55pm) Listed Doveton Stakes 1000m No.6 Prophet’s Thumb Damian Lane Both runs at Listed level this preparation have had merit. She easily won a Mornington jump out between runs and has worked nicely leading into this time. Her last run at 1000 metres, which was last spring, she was narrowly beaten in the Group 2 McEwan Stakes. In what looks an open race, she has each way claims. Fixed Odds $8.50 & $2.60 Race 5 (2.30pm) Group 3 Sandown Stakes 1500m No.6 Kenya Jye McNeil Couldn’t have been more impressive winning first up over 1600 metres at Mornington two weeks ago albeit in Benchmark 90 grade. Should be fighting out the finish here. Fixed Odds $2.45 & $1.35 Race 7 (3.45pm) Listed Sandown Cup 3200m No.7 Naval Warfare Ben Melham An improved performance back onto a firm track in the 2800 metres event at Flemington on Cup day. Two years ago, he finished 2.5 lengths from Surprise Baby in the Adelaide Cup over the two miles which would read good form in this. Going well and could surprise at each way odds. Fixed Odds $11.00 & $3.30 No.9 Realm Of Flowers Mark Zahra Racing without much luck this preparation, would have finished closer in the Bendigo Cup but copped inference at the 200 metre which stopped her momentum. She is an unknown at the distance but we believe it should pose no problem. Talented mare at her best but needs to step up here. Fixed Odds $17.00 & $4.40 Race 9 (5.05pm) Group 3 Eclipse Stakes 1800m No.1 Homesman Ben Melham Found the Flemington track too firm on Cup day when only beaten 2.5 lengths. He was a dominant winner first up at Moonee Valley. He is a winner third up previously but is likely to strike another firm track later in the day. He is the class horse of the field and on his best form, he should be hard to beat but take on trust. Fixed Odds $4.20 & $1.65

01.01.2022 Photos of all Freedman Racing's winners from the 2020/21 season

01.01.2022 Glory days: Hewitt laps up gelding’s success Racenet's Brad Waters reported: Tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt was on hand at Caulfield to cheer his horse Evening Glory to victory in the Warren Moore Handicap (1200m).... Hewitt, a Wimbledon and dual US Open champion, part-owns Evening Glory along with fellow former Australian tennis professionals Sam Groth and Peter Luczak as well as star coach and television pundit Darren Cahill. Evening Glory was first past the post but lost a race at The Valley on protest first-up but luck went the Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained gelding’s way at Caulfield. Premiership-leading jockey Jamie Kah gave Evening Glory the perfect run behind the leaders but had to conserve her mount’s finishing sprint as long as she could. Evening Glory ($6) did enough to get past the $201 chance Zoujea before holding off the charge of the unlucky Housay, scoring by a long neck. Lleyton is up in the stands, I think you could hear a big ‘come on’, so they’re all very happy. Just hoping the horse can go on with it now, Sam Freedman joked after Evening Glory’s win. Kah picked up the ride on Evening Glory after apprentice Lachlan Neindorf was suspended for careless riding on the sprinter at The Valley. Kah said she thought Evening Glory had the quality to see off his opposition but his lack of acceleration was a concern. I was confident but he doesn’t have a big sprint on him, this horse, so I was trying to hold him together as long as I could, Kah said. He’s a big, strong animal and when he puts it together, and he keeps his mind on the job, he’s a good horse. I was confident on the turn but I knew there’d be horses swooping late. Luckily he held on.
