23.01.2022 Devastating bushfires have been burning across large parts of Australia and we believe now is the time for you, your family and our community to band together. If you, someone you know, or your business has been impacted by these bushfires, or if you are one of the heroes taking time from your regular job/business to fight these fires, please reach out to Freedom Advisory. We would love nothing more than to volunteer our time (yes, free of charge for those impacted) and help ...out with anything we can. For example, getting your books/records up to date, tidy up/reconstruction of accounting records lost in the fires, helping with a business insurance claim due to the fires, corresponding with the ATO to set up a payment plan tailored to your individual circumstances or any other jobs that may help you and your business move forward. We don't want our clients who have been impacted to be concerned about their tax affairs. When ready, we will help you sort out your situation and work with the ATO to give you extra time to pay your debt or lodge tax forms such as activity statements, remit penalties or interest charged during the time you have been affected. Stay safe, our thoughts are with you.

18.01.2022 Do you currently only hear from your accountant when it's tax time or when you contact them because you need help? We believe business owners want and need more than this and at Freedom Advisory we want to be proactive with you. Most accountants do not react until their client calls them with lines like:... "Help! We need a cash flow forecast for this bank refinance by Friday!" or "Help! We need assistance with paying our overdue employee's super!" At freedom advisory we believe in building a strong relationship, keeping in touch and sorting out any issues well before you need to make an urgent call for Help. We are here to help you grow your freedom business.

13.01.2022 Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and happy holiday season! We just wanted to say a huge + heartfelt thank you, not only to our clients, but to everyone who has liked, commented or shared Freedom Advisory. Your support means more to us than you can imagine. You're not helping someone buy their third car, their second holiday house, or a closet full of designer brand clothes. You're simply supporting a young family to live their dream life, with the hope of inspiring others to do the same.

01.01.2022 There are a number of important points to consider before hiring yourself an accountant, and it goes way beyond how much they're going to charge you. 1. Who is doing your work? Is your work being passed off to a junior whom you've never met, or is it being outsourced to another country to have your tax compliance done? We believe it's important that you know who you're paying to do your job, and feel secure in knowing it's being done correctly.... 2. Do they have the capacity to do your work? Some accounting firms have worked hard over the years to build a large client base, and we congratulate them! But be sure to enquire whether they are going to have the time and resources to complete your work, and give you, the client, the attention you deserve. 3. Are they available year-round? We have previously discussed the importance of having open communication between accountant + client. So ask, will they take your calls throughout the year when they're not preparing your end of year tax? 4. Do they have the skills needed to correctly complete your entity's business + tax obligations? Some business' tax obligations are simple are straight forward, others aren't. Ensure that the accountant you're hiring knows the in's and out's of your field, to make sure your work is done correctly, and you get the best possible outcome. 5. Will you be forced to use a particular software? At Freedom Advisory, we do have a preference for @Xero But that does not mean we will force you to use it. If something better suits your business then we are happy to make the recommendation. There are of course, other things to consider, we just feel that these five points are often overlooked during the hiring process. At the end of the day, we reccommend to do your research, and ask as many questions as possible.
