25.01.2022 Signage by Margaret Barnes Signs, concept and mechanics by Fran Garcia-Darke at Warrawong Plaza, and artwork by me. This is an insanely awesome prize, by the way. Get in there!

22.01.2022 Isn't the new look of the Level 2 Parents' Room at Warrawong Plaza fresh and cute? But wait, there's more to come ;) Marketing Manager: Fran Garcia-Darke Print & Install: (underwater theming only) Margaret Barnes Signs Artwork: (underwater theming only) me ;)

20.01.2022 I volunteer my time for Cat Protection Society NSW because they’re AMAZING... and they send me lots of pictures of kitties

20.01.2022 I can't say who it was for, because the campaign isn't live yet... but I do love doing little product shoots. They don't take up much room or time. And as in this case, occasionally I get to keep the goodies! :D Mmmmmm, fruity

19.01.2022 And this, my friends, is why we must always, always proof read

18.01.2022 A big season calls for a big Santa! #GreensboroughPlaza #joyonthegreen Greensborough Plaza MM Nicole Jackson :)

18.01.2022 This just in from Waverley Gardens Shopping Centre - their Santa set is ready to go! Christmas artwork for 'the Gardens' by me again this year. MM Cassandra Chatfield :) FYI Santa's arrival is from 11am - 2pm, Saturday 23 November (and VIP shopping is on ALL DAY) :)

17.01.2022 There's a bit of an epic change happening at #Coolo Cooleman Court Shopping Centre and this is what we lovingly refer to as "the bzzzy artwork"! SO glad I didn't have to work on the installation of this massive hoarding, which is much bigger than it looks in the photos. Thank you Marketing Manager Jessica Thy for sending pics, so I can see some of the job finished! Much appreciated :)

16.01.2022 I LOVE seeing my artwork finished and out there in the real world! Thanks to George at Bentley the Butler Dry Cleaning at Moonee Ponds Central for sharing these photos of a recent installation, on the exterior of the centre and on Bentley's drive-through area. Concept - Victoria Styles, Mirvac Retail :)

16.01.2022 One of our long term clients, POP UP Cosmetics, pops up all over Sydney with ridiculous discounts on genuine brand name makeup. The branding is simple to match the company's ethos; high quality, low prices. That's it! Like them on Facebook to find out where they'll be next :)

15.01.2022 Hell yeah, I'm chuffed! I think I'm finally finding my groove. TWO Commended (first shortlist) images in this year's Mono Awards, in the People Category, thank you very much! I am beyond thrilled. "The Mono Awards is Australia and New Zealand’s largest competition dedicated to the art of monochrome and black-and-white photography. The 2020 awards were judged by leading photographers Alex Cearns, John Crawford, Douwe Dijkstra, Lesley Downie, Natalie Grono, Anthony McKee, Matt... Palmer, and Jackie Ranken... What does my result mean? Top 10: An entry receiving this award finished in the Top 10 in its category. Top 20: An entry receiving this award finished between 11 and 20 in its category. Top 30: An entry receiving this award finished between 21 and 30 in its category. Highly Commended: The entry is of a very high standard and was selected in the second shortlist. Commended: The entry is of a high standard and was selected in the first shortlist." (<< that one there, that's me, twice!) :) Here's a bit more info :D https://www.australianphotography.com//the-mono-awards-202

14.01.2022 Sincerely, thank you. xo

14.01.2022 Woohooo! Photos from a client - thanks Hitomi! What we've started with here is an unloved-looking exterior wall, a supplied vector file and a request to 'make this work as directional signage, covering that whole area'. Image 1: The mostly blank, partly purple space we started with.... Image 2: The vector file from Shutterstock. Image 3: Inside the working file of the area where the doors are, on the right. It's more than just overlaying an existing file - it had to be pulled apart and put back together multiple times, to get things to fit just right, without looking like we'd actually changed it. Images 4 & 5 - the purple's gone, the mailboxes are gone, the signage is up and the installation looks fantastic! And now the signpost tells you where the entry to the centre is :) Concept: Hitomi Sanders for Moonee Ponds Central by Mirvac Artwork (file manipulation!): kazchilds.com :)

12.01.2022 Some decal installation + digital collateral, Easter 2019 at Greensborough Plaza :)

12.01.2022 Getting a little bit of creativity out of my system before Christmas slams me like an out of control truck

10.01.2022 Looks pretty awesome, huh? Warrawong Plaza :)

07.01.2022 Get to Warrawong Plaza, buy a $20 bale sticker and help us fill up this truck - to help out our awesome farmers! Oh, and score a free meal while you're at it. No kidding. Get to it! #warrawongplaza #buyabale... #theplace #theplacetomakeadifference Margaret Barnes Signs

06.01.2022 Yep, I do maps. Lots of 'em! MM Kate Innes for Forestway Shopping Centre :)

05.01.2022 Greensborough Plaza has been so incredibly proactive during this crisis - they've been so quick to respond to constantly changing guidelines and are keeping their customers' safety at top of mind now more than ever (which I didn't think was possible). Cheers to the Melissa in Marketing for pulling digital story time together with zero notice and getting it out there to share! Got little kids at home? Keep them occupied for a while, for free :)

04.01.2022 I'm so excited. Woodlea isn't too far from opening and I've designed the signage (including the logo & mini style guide) for Woodlea Dental (it's already in production) AND on Monday I get to start prepping final art files for Palmers Medical - both brand-spanking new tenancies in this soon-to-shine community shopping hub. Ah, all those years in the signage & print industry served me very well indeed :)

04.01.2022 Asuka Japanese Kitchen opened their doors at Penrith Homemaker Centre recently and from what I’ve been told, their food is fabulous! However, we had a challenge their shopfront isn’t front-and-centre, so how to make them stand out from a distance and entice people through their doors? We also had the bonus of needing to avoid electrical cabling, doors, safety signs and a pole. Starting with an otherwise blank canvas (you'll see that below!), and following the brief from ma...stermind marketeer Holly, I presented six variations on the initial concept; one of which was pounced on as ‘perfect’ first go. A few tweaks to finalise measurements and make sure everything was ready for print & install, and we were good to go. And here you have it the finished external wall treatment for Asuka. With these photos this morning came the message, Omg Kaz - look how amazing it looks - you absolutely nailed it!!!. Well, thanks Hols! I do my best but an outstanding brief with room to play always helps a lot. Concept / brief: Holly Pedersen for CBRE Print & install: The Printers Artwork: Moi

02.01.2022 Hi everyone! Canon invites you to join their photography challenge, CANON MOMENTS MATTER. This encourages Australians to look for, capture, and post the moments... in their everyday lives that spark joy, inspiration or positivity. HOW TO GET INVOLVED: Simply capture an image or a video of a moment that matters to you, then share it on your social channels applying the hashtags #CanonAustralia #MomentsMatter. Instagram is the main channel but you can also get involved via Facebook too. Entries using both hashtags may be spotlighted on the Canon Australia Instagram channel and on the Canon Australia website. The challenge will continue for as long as the national social distancing mandates are in place - which are easing but are not over yet. For more information, visit Canon.com.au/explore/stories From Canon: The purpose is that despite the challenging times we’re facing, everyone has the potential to experience moments of positivity and joy in their day that we can truly treasure, or use as motivation and inspiration to keep moving forward. We know that captured moments have the power to tell stories, and that shared images have the power to spread positivity and inspiration to those in our networks and communities who might be struggling or need of connection. If a moment matters to you, it will matter to those around you... Creating together, inspiring each other and being strong for our loved ones is just one way that we can be in it together for the common good. We look forward to seeing what moments matter to you. Don’t forget the hashtags! #CanonAustralia #MomentsMatter
