20.01.2022 Manu learning the ropes

19.01.2022 Update! Manu has found his bit A Trust flexi eggbutt mullen! No more head bobbing, and he actually chews nicely with it now, and his dressage is now improving by the day. Doesnt he look thrilled

18.01.2022 Another brilliant article. I also noticed a couple years ago from looking at photos of my lower leg that it needed some work, and still does!but i work on it all the time, until someday maybe ill be happy with it

18.01.2022 Cilla is for sale--price reduced due to her being out of work! Grab a bargain! Has competed up to 80cm eventing! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10155950818468904&id=513198903

17.01.2022 Horses are meant to live together, even if you paddock them seperately always let them have some horsey time and socialise with their mates!

16.01.2022 Fun weekend with beautiful spring weather at Alcoa Fairbridge! Manu is getting the hang of this going to shows thing, loving all the attention! Reno unfortunate...ly was withdrawn after dressage due to lameness (damn horses...) so he had a lovely relaxing weekend, while Manu ran his first 80 easily! Just a bit of time on xc as we had some brakes issues so he had to go slow more than he got to run, but such improvement so I am very pleased with him! See more

14.01.2022 Sundae is still searching for her new home she is 5 years old 16.2 hh Irish Sport horse mare. She has been taken slow and given time to grow and is now ready to... be broken in. She is a lovely type of mare and would suit someone who wants to take the time on great horse. I unfortunatly don’t enough time in a day to keep them all and that’s the sole reason of selling. She will make a fabulous competition horse or even just your best friend. Don’t hesitate to contact me about Sundae she will be sold to the best of homes! See more

14.01.2022 Most people don't know the story of how I started. I began riding western at the age of 5, and then moved onto hunt seat equitation. From there at the age of 12 I decided that I wanted to jump so moved myself and my water/jump/life fearing Arab to a jumping stable nearby. The horse quickly got sold as he didn't like my new plan. My parents were good sports and not horsey as I am rather independent minded they just went along with it. I began working as a working student for... Melissa Beardsley at the amazing Blackwood Farms, which gave me an immense wealth of knowledge--I am so thankful for what I learned there--Melissa and her team of grooms taught me everything from stable management, horsemanship, training, the ins and outs of eventing, etc. They were pedantic on cleanliness, of the stable, horse and gear so I learnt the importance of having impeccable presentation. I worked there while going to school (and getting excellent marks) until I was 18. I competed up to 3'3 on my Connemara pony and 3'7 on my TB x Trakehner in eventing. I was lucky enough to have many lessons and participate in many clinics with some very well know coaches and riders--and I was also lucky enough as a working student to get to ride and have lessons on some of the borders horses at the stables--from greenies to 3* eventers and fancy schmancy dressage horses--so I learned to feel a lot of things most people never get the opportunity to do and in some pretty amazing facilities--we had 4 arenas! I then moved to the UK for Uni, but of course I still came back and rode horses for Melissa, and then I also groomed part time for an eventer in the UK whilst finishing my last year of study. I then moved to New Zealand and worked as a groom for an eventer there, before going back to the USA and working again for Melissa as a groom/rider before finally settling in Australia. I worked at the beautiful Leedale Lodge in Pinjarra, working their young horses, until I moved to Bunbury where I worked helping to start young horses under saddle for 3 years. Now I freelance and travel to peoples properties--preferring to mainly teach competitive kids and adults with a focus on eventing, and compete my own horses who are slowly ticking up the grades :)

11.01.2022 I am taking lesson bookings from now until Christmas. Please message or text.

10.01.2022 Cilla For Sale 9yo solid 17hh bay TB mare. Non marey mare, Cilla is easy to have around. Loves her food (esp carrots) respectful and well mannered. Trialed twice very unsuccessfully as a youngster...fast is not her thing! That said, she is not a lazy horse; she is soft and responsive to the leg. She is very rhythmical, and goes the speed you set her in. A competitive Show jumping home would be the ideal place for her, as she is careful and loves to jump. Cilla competed up t...o 80cm and schooled 95cm in Eventing when she was 6, then due to her rider having too many young horses to bring on Cilla then sat in a paddock until this Feb. I brought her back into work slowly so she is still only jumping small, and she never put a foot wrong. This horse has zero buck, bolt or and thing like thatshe is a calm girl. That said, she is sensitive and a mare so would like a kind, sensitive rider who knows how to ride thoroughbreds and mares! She has an extremely soft mouth and currently goes in a Trust Flexi snaffle. Therefore she needs a rider with soft quiet hands and an independent seat. She recently went to Dardanup ode and competed 65cm for her first time back out in years and came home with 6th! She doesn’t mind other horses cantering around her, and doesn’t get excited or anxious when you ride her out. She is the easiest cross country ride I have ever ridden, ride her in a full cheek snaffle and she literally went exactly as fast as I asked her to and didn’t look at a single fence. I do feel that show jumping is where she would really excel though. Needs to move back up to higher heights as trips over 65cm but I am doing a post grad course this year and already have one main horse I compete higher and 2 others currently in light work as I don’t have time to ride often so sadly Cilla is the only one I can sell. My farrier is pleased with her feet, she actually has good feet, unlike most tb’s. Cilla is up to date with everything and just had her teeth done. $3000 Priced for a quick sale but this horse is super fun so I won’t be too sad if she takes a while to sell lol She is going out to Dardanup xc training day on Sunday. https://youtu.be/YK3KBIOGIZQ

07.01.2022 Manu has a parrot mouth. His teeth were never properly looked after, so is getting dental visits every 3 months. He has now fully recovered from ulcers and has almost filled out. Finding a bit to suit him has been nothing short of a nightmare, Look at that tongue! And of course his parrot mouth. but lately I have gotten closer to finding the right bit.

04.01.2022 Lessons will be going ahead today, wear a rain jacket...you will not melt I will cancel if lightning but typically passes quickly. If you wish not to ride in the rain there is still a 50% cancellation fee. Thanks and see you little ducklings out there!
