18.01.2022 Ningaloo and Exmouth Shire are known for more than their stunning marine life and endless sunshine The Harold E Holt Naval Communication Station, commissioned in 1967, as a venture with the U.S. Navy. The base is home to a complex array of towers as tall as 387m. It saw protests during 1974 during which songs such as 'We don't want no Yankee Bases' were sung. This rare creature is a pseudoscorpion, named after the Ancient Greek parable. The tale suggests that the most enviable life can have a metaphorical sword hanging over it- a lesson in conservation! When fully printed and assembled, our creature will take pride of place in the Karst Cave in the upcoming Ningaloo Centre. 08.01.2022 Umberto Nobile and expedition mascot Titina aboard the Italia, heading north for the Polar Flights of 1928. The story of Nobile's crash on the third Polar Flight sadly ends in the death of one of Norway's greatest explorers. Roald Amundsen led one of the dozens of teams searching for the Italia, who came from all over Europe and from the USA. Amundsen's achievements, bravery and spirit of adventure live on at the @norsk_luftfartsmuseum.
