22.01.2022 Happy #SunBearSunday. Mary, Noy & Pandy are loving their new enclosure. Sun bears are the world's smallest & most arboreal bear species, spending more time in trees than all other bears, & the girls are making full use of all the climbing structures & enrichment furniture in their enclosure. We're still under strict lockdown in Laos & unable to reach the 2 moon bear cubs we were supposed to rescue last weekend. Good news - the endangered Indochinese grey langur & critically e...ndangered Sunda pangolin we recently rescued are both responding well to treatment & we're hopeful they'll make it. 22.01.2022 Hello everyone, I would like to thank everyone who took part in the walk last Saturday. It was a most brilliant effort. Our branches across Australia and others around the world were involved in walking & raising funds for the bears - thank you to you all. Our 20 Perth volunteers braved a chilly and windy morning, including a dog and baby, and began their walk with gusto. Sacha and Paul wore our famous bear costume and during their walk the sun came out and it began to heat ...up. I am sure they both shrunk in the suits as they completed the 10K’s running around Lake Monger three times. Personally I would like to thank everyone who sponsored me, that was so kind. I am afraid I did not go too far but my excuse is, for every step I took, the wind blew me backwards, but I was with everyone every step of the way who were giving their very best. To date our wonderful walkers have raised just over $28,000 with funds still coming, what a wonderful effort! The bears thank you so much! 08.01.2022 The new generation of conservationists in Vietnam are filling us with hope! Two key members of our small Vietnam team, Bich & Ha, recently attended an 'Empowering Women In Conservation' conference by Vietnamese wildlife charity, WildAct. It was a very powerful & important event, building community amongst Vietnamese conservationists & addressing the issue of gender-based violence in conservation. WildAct also funded our recent rescue of a moon bear who had been caged for 20 years (but sadly passed away shortly after) & subsequently raised additional funds for the bears in Vietnam. It's so heartening to see homegrown wildlife organizations leading the way in the fight to preserve Vietnam's incredible wildlife. Thanks WildAct

Your fundraising efforts have already allowed a bear house at our Vietnam sanctuary to go ahead (it had only been partially funded) & additional funds will go towards a new bear house in Laos (we still have a way to go to fully fun...d this).
