25.01.2022 REGISTER FOR NEXT SUNDAY !!!! https://www.revolutionise.com.au/freezone/events/71657/ REGISTER FOR NEXT MONDAY!!!!... https://www.revolutionise.com.au/freezone/events/72611/

25.01.2022 Hi there, guys. In these tough times, some of us may need every dollar that we can possibly get. The Freezone Board has decided to refund this year's membership fee to all those who have paid. We believe that it will be better off in your pockets rather than in the club's. This is not an indication of the club folding or anything like that, in fact we are very financially sound. It is merely our way of saying thank you and supporting our volleyball family - like you have supp...orted us. If you have not been refunded yet, or contacted by me, you will be emailed so that we can get some bank details from you. I, and the Board, sincerely hope that everyone is doing the best that they can under these trying conditions. If anyone has any queries, please send me an email at [email protected] . We will get through this together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

23.01.2022 Information about Fair day. Come down to Sports Village zone from 145pm to see the volleyball demonstration game.

23.01.2022 https://www.freezonevolleyball.club/events/list/ Register now to secure your place at volleyball either this Sunday afternoon or Monday evening. Please note - This Monday's timeslot is 7-9 p.m. Sunday is 3.45-6.30 p.m. as per usual.

23.01.2022 Good luck to all those Freezoners (and their friends) who are competing in the last day of the Good Neighbour tournament today in Canberra. It was (filthy) hot yesterday, and hopefully today will be less oppressive! Reminder - NO VOLLEYBALL TODAY AT SYDNEY BOYS HIGH SCHOOL....................... Reminder - VOLLEYBALL TOMORROW EVENING AT PERRY PARK IS ON..................... Places are limited (only 7 remaining), so please register your intention to play. Those who cannot play but have already registered - please let me know if you cannot make it. There is always someone keen to take the spot. https://www.freezonevolleyball.club/events/79882/

23.01.2022 Just a reminder to all, that we need to minimize the risks of contamination while we still continue to get back to playing volleyball in Thursday & Sunday.

23.01.2022 Freezone’s official response to the recent Office of Sport recommendations Hello to everyone. Firstly, please find attached VNSW’s official statement dated 20/8/2020. It has always been Freezone’s intention to responsibly care for everyone who trains or plays at our sessions and tournaments. The Committee has decided to follow the instructions sent to us in the following order of priority regarding Covid-19 updates 1. Federal Government... 2. State Government 3. Volleyball Australia 4. Volleyball NSW A lot of things are staying the same regarding hygiene, social distancing, being symptomatic (no matter how small the symptoms seem) and contact tracing. The major change is the direction that NSW is faced with at the moment the increasing risk of community transmission regarding the Coronavirus. The recommendation is that everyone who partakes in community sport only does so within 10 kilometres of their home. At the moment, this is expected for the next 6 weeks. What does this mean for Freezoners and what will change? If you live more than 10 kilometres from either Sydney Boys High school (2021) or Perry Park Recreational Centre (2015), Freezone advises to please take heed of VNSW i.e. Each individual should consider if their participation is critical to them with the recommendation that ideally people restrict the distance travelled from their home address and the venue to be within 10km. At the same time, Freezone WILL NOT send anyone home if they have arrived at either of our locations (unless they are showing obvious signs of cold or ‘flu symptoms). Why not? - 1. VNSW has NOT mandated this latest change, it is a (strong) recommendation. 2. Freezone has a very comprehensive registration process. This, coupled with the need for participants to give contact details via QR code at the venues, means that any person can be contacted swiftly and easily should the need arise. Additional questions regarding place of residence, known hot-spots et cetera will be added to our compulsory registration process. As VNSW has stated, they do not want the sport to come to a halt, but they are also aware that we need to be more vigilant. I hope that this communication finds everyone well, healthy and safe. I look forward to seeing you at our next volleyball session(s), but I completely understand and respect your decision to stay away as well. Kindest of regards, Mark Bennett President Freezone Volleyball. See more

21.01.2022 Please be aware that you have to register your intention to play volleyball via https://www.freezonevolleyball.club/events/list/. This is for both Sunday and Monday. Please also be aware that at both SBHS and Perry Park, you need to scan the QR code to enter that premises.

21.01.2022 Please note our new Sunday volleyball starting time - 3.45P.M.!!!! DO NOT turn up at 3.00, 3.15 or even 3.30 P.M. as you will not be allowed into the SBHS gym. If you are turning up (somewhere just prior to 3.45P.M.), then you HAVE to be registered with Freezone beforehand.... You can do so here - https://www.revolutionise.com.au/freezone/events/68585/ Remember to stay away if you are feeling unwell/showing signs of 'flu-like symptoms or you don't like washing your hands/coughing/sneezing into a tissue/handkerchief/the crook of your elbow et cetera.

19.01.2022 There certainly seems to be light at the end of the Covid-19 tunnel in Australia and the announcement that community sport can return from July 1st is very exciting. Freezone is currently in discussions with Volleyball NSW and all of our venues about their opening dates and a return to play plan, including the development of a Freezone Covid Safety Plan. We understand many people are very keen to get back on court but we do need to take the time to ensure the safety of everyo...ne in our community as best we can and abide by all venue & government restrictions and requirements. Different venues will likely have different restrictions and different opening dates and for now we have no confirmed information for you but we recommend the following in preparation to play - Get yourself registered Talk to your team mates - see who is keen to return and if you need to recruit more players and friends to participate Prepare yourself physically - get some exercise now, increase your fitness and reduce the risk of injury, especially if youve been a Covid couch potato. Consult a medical professional if necessary. Provide us with feedback - any concerns you have, thoughts on what you would like to see in the clubs future Freezone recommends downloading the COVIDSafe app; at this stage it is not mandatory but if that changes we will let you know - https://www.health.gov.au/reso/apps-and-tools/covidsafe-app After the fantastic response to our Grass Volleyball Event, we have decided to go again, whilst we wait for our indoor venues to get ready for us. The next session will be on Sunday 21st June at 2.00pm for 2 hours. This will be an outdoor session on the oval fields opposite the Sydney Boys High School Gym. As you can imagine we expect that all our members will be as excited as us to get back to playing Volleyball. In line with the NSW regulations this session is capped and you will need to book your (free for members) ticket to be able to attend the session: link attached. https://www.revolutionise.com.au/freezone/events/67163/ Some of the safe Play practices being implemented are: No socialising before or after the session arrive, train, go home . No gatherings of more than 20 on each court (including players, coaches and supporters). NO HIGH FIVES during play, this one is a hard habit to break so good luck. Wash / sanitise your hands before, during and after play. If you feel sick or unwell in any way, DO NOT attend the session. Do not share personal items such as: water bottles, tape, scissors etc. That just leaves me to say, welcome back and from all of us on the board, we look forward to seeing you all soon Stay Safe! Kind Regards Stuart Mackay Vice President Freezone Volleyball

16.01.2022 https://www.redribbonappeal.org.au/ December 1 was World AIDS Day, and as part of Freezone’s support of ACON and their dedication to ending HIV, Stuart Mackay, Louis Eudo and Mark Bennett attended ACON’s Red Bingay last Thursday night. Just from one night of laughter, frivolity and our little table of 3 winning 2 games ACON raised $1800 to help them combat stigma, indifference and discrimination against those who have HIV. ACON also works tirelessly to educate and support all people living in the LGBTI community throughout both rural and metropolitan parts of New South Wales. The Red Ribbon Appeal is ACON’s annual fundraising appeal and I urge all those reading this to please donate what you can and hep ACON to continue to do their amazing, necessary and ongoing work.

03.01.2022 Cancellation of FZ Xmas Beach Party Good evening, It is with regret that I inform you of the cancellation of tomorrow's event. The mitigating circumstances are/were as follows - 1. Freezone will look at doing something for the members in the New Year (should restrictions allow). Have a safe and happy holiday period and we'll see you in 2021!! Kind regards, Mark. See more

Other than that, let's enjoy our sport as we always do. If I receive further information regarding Corona Virus, it will appear on our FB pages and on freezonevolleyball.org .
