09.01.2022 Our triggers set off our nervous systems which are natural human responses to perceived threats. The key is to see them for what they are. Alarms. Warnings. Guidance. Just because an alarm goes off does not actually mean we are under threat. Our job is to discern. Our job is to check-in and if all is well, simply to switch the alarm off. We do this by deep breathing, by compassionate self talk, by allowing the alarm system to go the course (for the adrenaline to dissipate). Our way back to peace is actually our way back to healing ourselves which is all so very possible. So don’t avoid the discomfort. Get to know it. Understand it and set yourself free.
