25.01.2022 It was so awesome to see so many students get into the House spirit for Term 2 House Day! Well done to Olsson who won the Secondary Kahoot Quiz and Flynn who took out the Primary quiz. We are eagerly looking forward to Term 3 when we can hopefully hold our House Day together as a whole school!

24.01.2022 The Kindy and Pre-Primary children attended the Constable Care Puppet Show where they learnt about the difference between fun scary and unsafe scary and what to do if they feel unsafe. It was a great show and the children had lots of laughs and loved meeting Constable Care and his friends.



22.01.2022 The Flynn House fundraiser starts tomorrow! There is a free dress day in the Secondary for a cold coin donation. Flynn House Leaders will also be selling raffle tickets to the whole school to win a collection of awesome prizes. Raffle tickets are $2! All proceeds go to Compassion Australia.

21.01.2022 Today, Mr Fialhos Year 11 P.E Studies class visited 3D Mini Golf at Glowing Rooms Australia in Hamilton Hill. Their class has been looking at the biomechanics of various sporting techniques, one being putting. The boys had the chance to put their theory into practice in a wondrous environment. It was a tight contest, but Mr Fialho took out the win!

20.01.2022 The annual FCC Dads and Kids camp was a huge success! Primary students thoroughly enjoyed camping in the stars, on the school oval, playing games with their dads/father figures and having a delicious cooked breakfast! Men had the privilege of hearing Hon. John Gilmour QC challenge them about a key question: How much is enough? Will we choose a lifestyle that will prioritise and bring life to our children? 18.01.2022 On Wednesday Mr Lees Year 5/6 visited Scitech! They have been studying the solar system as part of their Earth and Science unit this term. It was a super fun and fascinating day!

15.01.2022 Last week the Year 3 class had the opportunity to go to Kings Park Education Centre and learn about Living and Non-Living things. Students explored the different stages of plants, wandered around Kings Park in search of different living and non-living things and even had a chance to plant a special seed of their own! Afterwards, we put our mapping skills to the test in a fun orienteering activity that required students to read a map, use a compass and find different checkpoints around the park. It was a very fun and enjoyable day out!

11.01.2022 This week the newest members of our community have been exploring the school and meeting new people. The Pre-Kindy children made beautiful butterfly wings and went on an adventure around the school. After exploring the nature play area they met Dr. Baxter in the office, where they had a chat and asked lots of questions. It has been an exciting start to the Pre-Kindy program and we are looking forward to seeing the children continue to grow and learn throughout the term!

11.01.2022 House Day is tomorrow! A reminder that ALL year groups (PP-Year 11) are encouraged to come dressed in their House uniform with any extra gear (wigs, sweat bands, zinc etc) they want pertaining to their Houses colour!

11.01.2022 A massive thanks to one of the NBL assistant coaches from the Cairns Taipans; Lennon Smartt, for coming down to give a few tips to our Year 11 P.E Studies students. Coach Smartt will be doing sessions with the boys for the next few weeks in the lead up to their practical exam. We are grateful to have a learning and developing elite NBL level coach assisting our students and program.

10.01.2022 On the last day of term the Kindy students went on an adventure to the nature play area. Mr Black and some secondary students were waiting to help with roasting marshmallows on a small fire. The students discussed safety around the fire and went through some safety rules. Then they were able to roast some marshmallows with the older students. It was a fun way to end Term 2 in Kindy!

10.01.2022 The Kindergarten children have been learning about the letter i. From this letter the focus was on insects. The Kindy children used magnifying glasses to look for insects around the Early Childhood playground. They also made insects using lots of healthy fruit and vegetables, the special glue holding all the ingredients together was cream cheese. The end result was really tasty and the children loved eating their healthy insect creations.

09.01.2022 National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 20th year, it is an event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian childrens book. FCC is involved in this project to continue to promote the value of reading and fun of books, encourage students to read and promote story time activities. We hope anyone who watches enjoys our version of the story!

09.01.2022 A reminder that House Day is tomorrow! All students are encouraged to wear their House uniform on this day and are permitted to wear extra accessories that match the colour of their House, such as coloured zinc, face paint, headbands etc. Year 1-11 students will be learning their Houses chants/songs in the lead up to the Inter-House Athletics Carnival next Thursday!

09.01.2022 Today, Mr Lees Year 5/6 class visited the Bell Tower and DFES fire station. In HASS they have been learning about bushfires and fire safety and also natural vs man made landmarks. The class was able to go up the Bell Tower and ring some bells, as well as learn about the history of the tower and its bells. At DFES they learnt about home fire safety and how we can respond to a fire emergency and of course they had time to stop for ice cream on a hot day out in the city!

05.01.2022 Our Inter-House Athletics Carnival is tomorrow at the West Australian Athletics Stadium! Students are to be at school no later than 8:30am as all buses are leaving at 8:45am. Students must come dressed in their House sports uniform. It is a 25 degree and sunny weather forecast so we are asking all students to bring a water bottle and a hat. The hat can be an FCC model or a regular cap associated with their House colour i.e a red cap for Flynn etc. Throughout the day, there wi...ll be sunscreen at every site as well as a gazebo for shade. Please encourage your child to be SunSmart and drink plenty of water. Parent, carers and family members are encouraged to attend. We are asking all spectators to sit in Block B, C or D upon arrival. Students will return to school at approximately 3:15pm. We are looking forward to an amazing carnival and may the best House win!

04.01.2022 The Year 6 students just returned from an amazing few days away at Camp Leschenaultia! The camp was full of fun team-building activities, archery, canoeing, stories around the campfire and moonlit outdoor games. During the camp the students also learnt skills they can use to set themselves up to transition well into secondary school next year. Everyone had an incredible time with all of the sugar and sleeplessness that comes with camps. A big thank you to Mr Hindle for catering the entire camp and Mrs Sheehy for volunteering her time assist us on camp.

03.01.2022 What a wonderful day we witnessed for what was a very successful Year 1-11 Inter-House Athletics Carnival last Thursday at the beautiful West Australian Athletics Stadium. The enthusiasm and participation of our students was simply outstanding and has been widely commented on by various staff and parents. A special mention to the parents and community that chose to give of their time to assist with duties on the day. Your efforts were a valuable contribution to the success of the carnival. Many thanks also goes to the servant-hearted FCC Staff, the day would have been impossible to facilitate without them. A huge congratulations to the Flynn House for winning the inaugural carnival! 02.01.2022 The FCC Primary students enjoyed another fun-filled week during the Scholastic Book Fair (19 - 24 August). Students dressed up in an Arctic Adventures theme for the dress up parade on Wednesday, 19 August. We had characters ranging from penguins, narwhal and explorers to various characters from books! We made a total of over $2,500 in sales and we received a commission of about $500. Out of this amount, we will be giving part of it to Compassion and the rest will be for new books for the library/classes. A big thank you to all staff and parents who helped and supported this event!

02.01.2022 Outdoor Classroom Day is celebrated by schools all across Australia with over a million children taking part this year. The day was a huge hit with all our primary school students. It was wonderful to walk around the school and hear the chatter of all the children as they engaged in learning experiences outdoors. Such a great day!
