Laze away in our sunny Front Garden and soak up the sounds of writer and award-winning musician Sam Carmody before The Money War hit the stage with a set of dreamy indie-pop sounds. Sunday Music runs 24pm each weekend until the end of March (except Sun 6 Dec). Entry is free and all welcome.

23.01.2022 In the lead up to this weekend’s Sunday Music: Sam Carmody + The Money War, we caught up with The Money War's Carmen Ollivierre. Formed in 2016, The Money War’s success has seen them tour nationally with the likes of Meg Mac, Dope Lemon, and Holy Holy. Neil Finn is a fan and even hand-picked them as his opening act on a recent Australian tour. 19.01.2022 Join us for today's Sunday Music: Kate Pass Kohesia Ensemble + No Nomad. Led by Kate Pass, the Kohesia Ensemble will play tunes inspired by Kate's love of jazz and Persian music. This group is 100% world-class! In fact, Kohesia Ensemble’s show Shahnameh: Songs of the Persian Book of Kings won the 2020 Martin Sims Award at Fringe World a top tier prize for Best new WA work that is destined to succeed on the world stage". They're joined by six-piece Perth band No Nomad w...hose dynamic blend of soul and jazz is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The bar opens at 1pm, with tunes starting at 2pm. Capacity is limited so come early! Sunday Music is free and family friendly.

It's the second last weekend to see our current exhibitions DesignFreo: Object, Space, Place and the City of Fremantle Art Collection's Watch this space! Both shows have an abundance of local stories and they're open 10am5pm daily until Sun 24 Jan. Tomorrow we're looking forward to a very fun Sunday Music with Cecilia Brandolini and her full band, and indie rising stars Green Pools. 14.01.2022 It's one month until our Perth Festival exhibition, A Forest of Hooks and Nails, opens at FAC. In A Forest of Hooks and Nails the install crew become the exhibiting artists. With years of insider knowledge and intimate behind the scenes experience, the artists will utilise their favourite nooks and crannies of FAC to produce artworks that engage with the building and celebrate the history of this much-loved Fremantle icon. 12.01.2022 If you're in Freo's West End and looking for an art fix, pop into the Moores Building Contemporary Art Gallery on Henry Street and wander through the new exhibition Art in the time of COVID. Curated by David Giles, the exhibition showcases the work of more than 40 WA artists mainly working in the abstract expressionist genre. They share their creative and emotional responses to the unprecedented times of COVID19. The Moores Building is open 10am4pm, 7 days. The exhibition runs until Sun 24 Jan. Based in Roebourne, Juluwarlu Group Aboriginal Corporation is an organisation dedicated to preserving, recording and promoting the culture of Yindjibardni people. Works created at Juluwarlu span multiple platforms including audio, video, documents and photos. Juluwarlu offers traineeships for local people in cultural preservation, trips on Country and artist r...esidences. The Arts Centre also produces documentaries, radio, TV and books and provides a space for the community to relax, feel safe and come together. 10.01.2022 DesignFreo: Object, Space, Place showcases many design disciplines including sensory design. Katie Leenan of The Second Salon was commissioned to create a room scent for our Main Gallery. Katie’s unique blend of essential oils, christened ‘Ground’, subtly infuses the space and sits well within the context of FAC’s limestone and timber physical presence. It's earthy and grounding yet light and energizing. Visit DesignFreo: Object, Space, Place to enjoy Ground and the work of many more of Fremantle's talented designers. Food trucks including The Habibs, Box Pizza Company and Paella on the Move will keep you fuelled as you browse wares including textiles, homewares and ceramics from 50 artisans. 01.01.2022 GIG NEWS! Australia’s most popular live storytelling series Barefaced Stories lights up Fremantle Arts Centre for one massive night of stories and song on Thursday 17 December. Armed only with their true-life tales, each storyteller takes to the stage, strips it all back and wears their bloody, beating heart on their sleeve some humorous, some sad, some downright perverse! Hosted by Barefaced co-creator Andrea Gibbs (ABC & TEDxPerth), this one-off musical extravaganza features special guest artists: Richard Berney & Lucy Peach (My Greatest Period Ever); Ofa Fotu (Hot Brown Honey, Odette Mercy); Amber Cunningham (ABC producer); and fellow musicians and interesting locals all with true tales to tell.
