23.01.2022 How wonderful... https://architectureau.com//could-cockatoo-island-become-/

21.01.2022 RADAR by @brooke.leeder was made extra special by the changing scenery of the working port. With the doors of the B-Shed wide open, the backdrop to this electrifying contemporary dance performance was different each moment for each viewing. Every show was sold out, and the audiences gave rave reviews. We’re still talking about it too! . . #undercurrent19 #fremantlebiennale @duncanwright__

19.01.2022 We celebrate NAIDOC Week 2020 The Fremantle Biennale acknowledges the importance of commissioning new work led by First Nations artists across multiple disciplines. We are committed in positioning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art practices and culture at the heart of everything we do.

18.01.2022 The projection of ‘Pearls & Blackbirds’ onto the open sails of the @rosef_last_pearl_lugger will be an event etched into the memories of all who witnessed it. We were lucky to include this one off screening as part of the Biennale program - a brilliant example of a site responsive installation. Bravo to @worldofashe who realised her dream to bring her film to life in Fishing Boat Harbour! . . #undercurrent19 #fremantlebiennale @duncanwright__

14.01.2022 THANK YOU to everyone who came to Fremantle to enjoy the 2019 Fremantle Biennale! From the breathtaking WATERLICHT, to the sold-out weekend theatrical performances - from the site responsive works around town, to the special one-off performative events - we loved every minute of the four-weekend program - and it looks like you did too! Without audiences, Western Australia's creative sector can't flourish, and therefore we rely massively on YOU to take part, get involved, buy tickets and bring your wonderful energy to our City. Thank you for doing all that and more - see you again in 2021! @duncanwright__

13.01.2022 Bravo to Lilly K. (and to Brooke for this incredible production)

13.01.2022 https://www.perthnow.com.au//fremantle-biennale-set-to-exp Thank you Fremantle Gazette. We are looking forward to be working across Local Governments to bring you our 2021 Program in November next year.

11.01.2022 On the balcony of the Maritime Museum, under the stars, and with the glowing lights of the port in the background - punters at Midnight Blue Lagoon, the party staged by @clubbmedd - enjoyed the movement of boats and ships of all sizes. Some felt so close, you might touch them! Huge container ships like this are such a magnificent site to behold - we’re lucky to have this brilliant stage for the Biennale. . . #undercurrent19 #fremantlebiennale @duncanwright__

04.01.2022 We've got so many brilliant photos from the Biennale to share with you - but thought we'd throw back to a month ago when Studio @roosegaarde ’s WATERLICHT swept through the Esplanade Park. It was an incredible start to UNDERCURRENT 19, one we wont forget. These are some of our favourite visitor photos, tagged with #fremantlebiennale - from the first weekend in November #fremantlebiennale #undercurrent19 #waterlicht #roosegaarde @ Esplanade Park, Fremantle

02.01.2022 Unlike many outdoor artworks, poor weather can enhance the experience, as rain droplets transform into jewels and winds sweep the smoke into new formations - writes Rebecca Gallo of @artguideau Come rain, hail or shine (AKA the last few days!) Waterlicht will run and we can’t wait for you to experience it. Rug up and listen to waterlichtradio.com when you’re here, from 7.30pm each night (Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd November). Don’t forget your headphones! . Use the hashtag #u...ndercurrent19 so we can see YOUR photos of Waterlicht. We will repost our favourites. . . #thisisfremantle #cityoffremantle #auscouncilarts #minderoofoundation #notredameaustralia #fremantleport #watercorporation #deptlgsc #fremantlebiennale #undercurrent19 #fremantle #contemporaryart #visitfremantle . @duncanwright__ @ Esplanade Park, Fremantle See more
