25.01.2022 END OF SEASON PRESENTATIONS NIGHT FRIDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER What a huge fabulous night ! I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves :) A special thank you to Joan and Lyn for assisting me over the last three weeks with wrapping all the Raffle Prizes in total we had 47 prizes in our Monster Raffle and raised over $2,100 in ticket sales ! Our Auction with 20 items was a massive hit with the crowd, raising over $4,300 in sales. Special thanks to Peter Collins from Framesport for... supplying the sporting memorabilia for our auction. In all, it was a fabulous night. Joan and Lyn also helped me with the set up at the South Fremantle Football Club on Friday morning, and a huge thank you to Luke Johnson for volunteering to come down and assist as well with Noel and Isaac. The room looked amazing after we had finished with set up. This year we had 136 people attending our End of Season Event, which is the largest event that I have ever organized and everything ran to plan ! Thank you to Mick Connolly for doing a fabulous slide-show presentation for the 2020 Bleakly Vote Count. SFFC Catering Team Bennys did an amazing job serving a hungry crowed with delicious food. A special thank you to all the Coaching and Team Officials, along with our volunteers who assist during training and on game days. Its great to have so many people volunteering their time to assist both our Integrated Football Teams. Wishing everyone a well-earned rest now that footy season is over and I look forward to catching up with everyone mid-March 2021 ! Now its time for me to put my cricket cap on and focus on the 2020/2021 Integrated Cricket Season! Unfortunately theres not rest for me !! Cheers Heather
25.01.2022 Last game of the season and we were playing away at Wembley. The weather was beautiful but a little nippy when the wind was blowing. We had 19 and Wembley 25 players and there was a big crowd watching on. The 1st quarter was fiercely contested with Wembley applying constant pressure on our forward line, so we only managed to score 1 goal and 5 behinds but our backline held Wembley goal less. 1st quarter scores CBC Green 1.5.11. Wembley 0.0.0.... The 2nd quarter started with Alex starting as our ruckman and I think we have found his new role in the team, he constantly won the tap outs. Alex will will provide a great backup to Rob. Wembley got a quick goal and added 2 behinds throughout the quarter. Our midfield started to work like a well oiled machine and started feeding our small forwards - Jayden, Connor and Dylan all scored but Dylans was something special. Jayden kicked a high ball into the goal square, Dylan saw it and positioned himself and took a screaming mark (or it might have been Deb just screaming), then Dylan lined up and slotted home a perfect text book goal, his mum even saw it this time. Halftime scores CBC Green 4.7.31. Wembley 1.1.7. 3rd quarter started with a bang, Rhys scored a quick goal after tackling hard for the ball. Wembley replied with a quick goal, they had 2 other shots on goal but both just missed. Our midfield kicked in to gear again and fed the ball to Jayden who kicked a great goal. Another 2 goals were added by Connor and Sean, who kicked from about 40 meters and scored. 3rd quarter scores CBC Green 8.9.57. Wembley 2.3.15. 4th quarter started and Wembley had 2 shots on goal but both missed, then 3rd time lucky and they slot home a goal, we added another 2 goals and the standout was Connor picked the loose ball up just outside the centre square, he runs and has 2 bounces and then about 40 metres out he launches a massive kick, it lands in the forward pocket, it bounces twice and rolls through for a great goal. Final score CBC Green 10.10.70 Wembley 3.6.24. It was a great game played in the spirit ALL games should be played, Matt, our coach moved our players around to help Wembley players get more ball time and it showed with them stringing some great passages of play together. Our CBC Green boys have improved tremendously this year, special mentions for this game, Alex - in the ruck, a lot more focused and more gameplay. Luke R - who chased and tackled, his 2nd and 3rd attempts were outstanding. Dylan - who took a massive mark and kicked (the right way) to score a cracking goal. Zac - who chased and tackled everyone near him, he is fitting into the team great. It has been an absolute pleasure to be involved in the running of this team, Matt our coach is fitting into our team really well, all my volunteer helpers, I honestly couldnt do it with out you and I am going to miss our sideline laughs. 17.01.2022 Congratulations to the following players who received a 2020 Bravery Award for their courage they have shown since being injured during the season, and in Jasons case, one week before the season started:- Matthew McKie (Fractured Kneecap) Alex Tilli (Dislocated Knee) Leigh Passmore (Footy Injury) Noel Lombardo (Dislocated Shoulder)... Jason Harris (Broken Ankle) Each player turned up to most games and/or training sessions to offer support to their team mates, despite being injured, which showed true commitment.

11.01.2022 Saturday 22nd August and we were at home playing Warnbro, it was our last home game of the season. Rob Greene was captain, it was also his birthday ...Happy Birthday Rob Kyron Timms was playing for Green as he couldnt make the Gold game due to work commitments. The weather was good and a big crowd had gathered to watch the game.... The first quarter has hard fought with Green keeping Warnbro scoreless. Score Green 1.1.7 Warnbro 0.0.0. By half time we had extended our lead but still managed to keep Warnbro scoreless, Green 2.4.16 Warnbro 0.0.0. The guys needed the long break as they had ran their hearts out and had contested every ball, every team member had contributed in the first half of footy. Warnbro caught us napping in the 3rd quarter and scored a couple of quick goals but it was our small forward Connor ONeil, who was revelling being in the forward pocket, he scored another two goals to keep us in front. 3rd quarter scores Green 4.5.29 Warnbro 2.1.13. The 4th quarter started, with the guys wanting to keep the pressure on and win. Every player gave their all with 1st, 2nd and 3rd efforts in the contest to win the ball. By the final whistle we had held Warnbro scoreless in the final quarter, while we had added another 2 goals to the final score. A big thanks to the Warnbro team, they played a great game and continued to push the Green team all the way to the final whistle. Final score Green 6.7.43 Warnbro 2.1.13. It was a fantastic game of footy, the team work and spirit displayed by this group of guys is second to none, every game they play they just keep getting better and better. Notable mentions to Connor who loved playing forward and scored 4 goals, Denzel scoring his first AFL goal and Matty B who scored, then celebrated by running the full length of the pitch, and Josh PB who tackled players 3 times his size. Last but not least a massive thanks to all the Green team parent helpers, week after week these guys make my job so much easier, as well as having lots of fun and laughs every game. Cheers, Garry

09.01.2022 A special thank you to the lovely Joan Lombardo for making these three delicious celebration cakes for Noel (100 games), Owen (100 games) and Alex & Brendon (50 games). We truly appreciate the time and effort that you put into making the cakes for the lads x
09.01.2022 Saturday 15th August and we did a road trip to Mandurah. The weather was overcast and windy and it was going to be a tough day. Mandurah jumped to a quick two goal lead with a couple of slick plays out of the middle, which left the boys a little stunned but the boys dug deep and pulled one back. At quarter time the coach did a couple of position changes and during the 2nd quarter we matched Mandurah goal for goal. Up until half time.... The third quarter was hard fought all over the ground, with some rain and wind just for good measure, by the end of the quarter Mandurah were 11 points ahead. At the start of the final quarter, we kicked a quick goal to close the gap to 5 points but Mandurah were too strong and scored another 2 goals to seal the win. Once again, the way our boys held their heads high and never gave up fighting is a tremendous reflection on the team work and comradery that exists within CBC Green team. Everyone put in 100% but Stephen Donovan, Josh PB, Denzel, Matty B, Luke R and Rob in the ruck all performed to their max ability all day. Special mention to Connor, Nick, Sean and Rhys who on numerous occasions linked up to string some great running passages of play. Nick did suffer a injury deep in the 4th quarter but I have heard that he is ok, which is great news. I am really proud of the team and the way they present themselves and play every week.
