23.01.2022 Fremantle Business of the Year 2020! We are so proud to have taken home the top accolade at Friday nights Fremantle Business Awards! Plus we also took out the Contribution to Fremantle Award against some stiff competition (shout out to @kidogoarthouse & @sironacapital). This was so unexpected that Michael was actually lost for words for our Business of the Year speech! For anyone who's been on a tour you know that doesn't happen often but thankfully Lucy saved the day .... . . We are so humbled to have Fremantle Tours recognised for our contribution to advocating Freo as a unique travel destination as well as our work promoting so many other local Fremantle businesses. . . We stop in at 3 amazing local venues for a drink as well as check out many more. Plus we share some of the more sordid tales of Freo's past as well as all the new venues set to open this summer. This shot is of the gorgeous Darling Darling (@darlingfreo), a tiny 30 person venue with so much charm and authenticity you'll be singing sea shanties before long (the bar...rel ages negronis & old fashioned will help too ). . . 20.01.2022 What an amazing day full of tours! . . Today started with an 8 person WALK tour pictured here in front of the bridge dingo for inspired piece by @brolga. What a fun group from Dunsborough on staycation and Midland! And a delightful coffee from @firstrulecafe .... . Followed up with a private DRINK tour for the Cockburn Masters Swimming Club. What a legendary crew, we had a brilliant time checking out all the new spots in Freo whilst rediscovering the old. . . First stop was a beer at @freo.social and a sneak peak into the entertainment hall to see the amazing local art (@saranahaeata @loosh.the.artist @laelinedesign & @spencertive) and chat about the buildings history - did you know that Freo Social is in Australia's first indoor badminton court? . . Then up to @beerpourium to hand out on the upstairs verandah and enjoy a drink in Fremantle’s original library. . . Today's final stop was a Gin distillery & tasting tour at the Republic of Fremantle (@republic_of_fremantle). WOW! With tastes of wine (they use to distil to create their base spirit), vodka and both the full bodied and aromatic gins - PLUS finishing off with a G&T - you can't go wrong with a visit here! A few of the crew even left with a bottle of gin of their own, that's right your can buy a bottle of gin or vodka straight over the bar. . . It's also the @freolongtable on Saturday, a fantastic event worth all funds raised going to the amazing @stpatsfreo And next week we have 2 new venues opening! Did anyone say GIN DISTILLERY?! Yep, you heard right. The Republic of Fremantle will be opening its doors next weekend for delicious drinks, gin master-classes and tastings! Check them out @republic_of_fremantle.
