11.01.2022 Official Triathlon Western Australia statement on coronavirus; Good afternoon As you would be well aware, Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been declared as a public health pandemic by the World Health Organisation. The virus originated from Chinas Hubei province, and to try and prevent further spread of the virus, the Australian government have placed ongoing travel restrictions to people who may have been affected.... For Triathlon WA clubs, our members health and safety is of utmost importance. The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) have released recommendations regarding sports training or any other group or club activities in line with advice from medical professionals and Health Authorities around the world. If one of your club members have travelled to China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Japan, and Mongolia in the last 14 days, or have come into direct contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19, they should NOT ATTEND TRAINING, and they should place themselves in quarantine. If one of your club members have travelled to China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Japan, and Mongolia in the last 14 days, or have come into direct contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19, AND they have developed feverish symptoms, a cough, a sore throat, or are experiencing shortness of breath, they should NOT ATTEND TRAINING, and they should SEEK REVIEW BY A MEDICAL PRACTITIONER. If club members do not have any feverish symptoms, a cough, a sore throat, or are experiencing shortness of breath, AND if they have not travelled to China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Japan, and Mongolia in the last 14 days, AND if they have not come into direct contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19, they will be able to continue normal training and competition activity. If any of your members fall into any of the above categories, please feel free to remind them of these guidelines, and suggest that they remove themselves from training until they are cleared by a medical professional in line with the AISs recommendations. To help stop the spread of COVID-19, even if members answered no to all above questions, it is recommended all members practice hygiene protection measures recommended by the WHO If any member feels as though they are experiencing the symptoms mentioned above, Triathlon WA recommends removing the member from any group training sessions where they may come into contact with others. More information on how COVID-19 may affect your sporting practises can be found on the AIS website. The Australian Government through the Department of Health also provides up to date information regarding COVID-19 If you require any other information or assistance within your club regarding the above please do not hesitate to contact TWA.

05.01.2022 Our very own Kate Bevilaqua is over in Noosa to compete in the Ultraman Australia this weekend. The Ultraman is a 10km Swim, 421.1km Bike and an 84.3km Run over 3 days.
