25.01.2022 The politicians tell us to worry about renewables causing electricity outages. Meanwhile we've just seen, in this summer alone, the 13th failure of a major coal unit.

25.01.2022 Another nail in the coffin to this dangerous organisation, that through its lies, has caused real harm to communities and industry. "Sound judgment strips anti wind Waubra Foundation of its low-tax status" http://www.smh.com.au//sound-judgment-strips-antiwind-waub

25.01.2022 We had a passionate and enthusiastic crowd of 20+ community supporters hang around for over 3 hours of great renewables discussion and a speech from Mayor Brad at our Windy Beers last night! Thanks to all who came! We can feel the excitement building and hopefully we'll be able to update you on more steps in the right direction after some big meetings we've got scheduled for the next couple of weeks. Great to hear that you're all keen to hit the streets and help make this thing happen!

22.01.2022 An expert group drafted almost three years ago to assess the health impacts of wind turbine noise has not yet been able to work out what sounds it should be measuring, despite costing the taxpayer about $500,000!

21.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing a bunch of you tonight! We will have bumper stickers available tonight too!

19.01.2022 Lovely photos from such an incredible global movement.

18.01.2022 Installing a wind energy commissioner was probably Tony Abbott’s finest decision as PM. Though it didn’t exactly yield the result he was hoping for!

18.01.2022 "Virtually every mega construction project in the world is running overdue and over budget." The future is low-cost distributed renewable energy. Have a read of this extensive National Geographic run down.

17.01.2022 Wind power is one of the best things to happen to Australian farmers in decades. It's only a matter of time before the Coalition politicians in these rural farming strongholds begin to listen to the growing numbers of their own constituents. Friends of farmers like the Australian Wind Alliance are helping to amplify this message. A great news story from NSW where one farmer tells of the benefit: The royalties help educate my children, help improve the property," he said. "It'll give me the flexibility to keep my cattle going through hard times, through droughts."

17.01.2022 We're here at the Palmyra Western Farmers Market at Palmyra Primary school. Come say hello..grab a bite to eat and if you're little enough play in a giant mushroom house!

16.01.2022 Good rundown on our new energy minister, and some busting of recent myths still being spun by the likes of Alan Jones and The Australian. https://reneweconomy.com.au/taylor-says-there-is-too-much-/

16.01.2022 This photo must make people who claim wind turbines disturb livestock feel a little ... wait for it ... sheepish!

15.01.2022 You hear the term "baseload" a lot in Australia. The confusing thing is that (a) the word doesn't have a generally agreed-upon definition, and (if that wasn't confusing enough already), (b) many of the people saying it don't know very much about how the electricity grid works. In this article, Evan tries to un-confuse us on both points. A good, not too long read.

15.01.2022 "Renewable energy drives down power prices by more than cost of subsidies" A landmark study that everyone in Australia (especially our politicians!) ought to be made aware of.

14.01.2022 A vision from the future? No the Port of Hamburg, today, taken by one of your FCWF Directors. How many turbines can you count? In this brilliant city, a thriving industrial port, renewable energy, and tourism all co-exist. The port gets affordable clean electricity, and literally thousands of tourists admire the port area each day. ... It's win win, and it's something we can do in Fremantle too if the road blocks were removed.

14.01.2022 Installing a wind energy commissioner was probably Tony Abbotts finest decision as PM. Though it didnt exactly yield the result he was hoping for!

12.01.2022 One of your directors enjoying the beautiful scenery today in Waubra

12.01.2022 If you get as excited about wind turbines as us, you'll enjoy a few photos from one of your Directors on a recent windfarm construction visit. (These are the same turbines that our friends at Hepburn Wind have!)

12.01.2022 In case anyone tries to tell you that "clean coal" is something we ought to keep waiting for... let's hear straight from the horse's mouth the CEO of the USA's largest privately held coal-mining company. It is neither practical nor economic, carbon capture and sequestration, he said last week. It is just cover for the politicians, both Republicans and Democrats that say, Look what I did for coal, knowing all the time that it doesnt help coal at all. http://reneweconomy.com.au/coal-ceo-admits-that-clean-coal/

11.01.2022 Hunting wind turbines in Denmark - a beautiful site. Two turbines = 56% of the towns 2016 demand! They were absolutely pumping today.

10.01.2022 A visionary renewable energy project that benefits both WA and Indonesia!

10.01.2022 Inspiring students! Some of the placards these students came up with are brilliant, too. https://www.theguardian.com//climate-change-strike-thousan

09.01.2022 Josh Frydenbergs actions, sadly but unsurprisingly, speak louder than his words. His unprecedented decision to block this clean energy project showed contempt for wind power, and a communitys ability to decide its own future

08.01.2022 One of your directors proudly representing FCWF at the Melbourne #ClimateStrike !

06.01.2022 Looks like we're not the only ones looking at community investment in wind farms! http://reneweconomy.com.au/sapphire-wind-farm-seeks-commu/

05.01.2022 There's so much good energy news to rejoice about in 2018 and be optimistic about for our shared future! Have a read of this fantastic run down from Simon HaC (one of the masterminds behind our sister project, Hepburn Community Wind Farm)

04.01.2022 This is a great day all those affected communities and employees to whom John Oliver has brought global attention. Also a great day for giant squirrels. (BTW, the entire 24min segment embedded in the article is worth every minute)

03.01.2022 A brilliant summary of the national sentinment towards wind farms. It has either improved, or never been bad in the first place! (Shhh don't tell the anti-wind lobby that). A brilliant quote: "It's hard to think of a larger own-goal than the efforts of the four horsemen of the wind farm apocalypse - former senators John Madigan, Bob Day, Nick Xenophon and current senator David Leyonhjelm to have done the ground work to establish a complaint commission and then found the queue of complainants almost empty," said Dr Chapman, a professor emeritus in public health at Sydney University.

03.01.2022 Today is #WindFarmOpenDay ! We look forward to the day that the people of WA can just pop down to #Fremantle Harbour any day of the year to visit their local community owned turbines! (We just need the port authority to lease us the land...) In the meantime we visited Badgingarra Wind Farm near Jurien Bay where 37 Siemens 3.6 MW turbines (and 20 MW of solar) are under construction. Great to see!

03.01.2022 In light of Trumps recent anti-wind rant, its worth reviewing the true facts about human-caused bird deaths

03.01.2022 Watch the first music video ever filmed atop a wind turbine! Filmed at sunset in beautiful Quebec. (also featured: the tower windart of our sister project & inspiration Hepburn Wind)

02.01.2022 Even climate change denialists are giving up on coal!

02.01.2022 Wind farm construction has delivered an economic boost of almost $4 billion to regional Australia, according to a new report by Australian Wind Alliance. I hope The National Party are paying attention!

01.01.2022 Fremantle could have a slice of this - hopefully the winds of change are in the air with a new state government! Benefits-sharing with the community is at the core of our plan. https://reneweconomy.com.au/wind-farms-on-track-to-delive/

01.01.2022 fantastic little infographic showing all the components of a wind turbine, and their rough contribution to cost. #GeekingOut
