25.01.2022 TRAINING UPDATE: Tonight is the first scheduled training session outdoors at Gil Fraser after handover from the football clubs. Training starts from 5pm, love to see all Pirates down at the mighty Gil!
24.01.2022 UMPIRING: Do you have what it takes?? This upcoming season, WASTCA clubs need to each supply an umpire for lower grade games at home grounds each week. For us, this would likely be at the Gil synthetic pitch every week, occasionally at Tom Perrott. ... This suits a recently retired player, or someone who wants to stay connected to the club but can’t bring themselves up for training or games each week. It is a paid position like all umpires in WASTCA and training and umpire shirt will be provided for any interested. 123We’re not limited to 1 spot, so the more the merrier. Anyone keen??
24.01.2022 GRAND FINAL RESULTS: What an amazing weekend to be a Pirate. The ebbs and flows of cricket are something else! By Sunday sundown, another two premiership flags had been won by Pirates! 4th Grade:...Continue reading

23.01.2022 Happening again this week, folks! If you’ve got a cricket itch that need scratching, get down to Elite tomorrow night 830pm and tune up with the Pirates!
22.01.2022 A great day out for beloved former Pirate, Jack Gower, obviously enjoying the opposition bowling attack back home in Wales! Awesome work Jack!
21.01.2022 TEAMS: Great to see another week and 5 full sides. Good stability for most teams, and every side selected is strong enough to get a win on the board. Good luck to all Pirates tomorrow and remember to slip slop slap and slurp in the hot weather expected!... Also remember to keep the extended Pirate family updated with scores by posting game updates to the FMPCC group when you can!
20.01.2022 RESULTS: Some great performances and wins by Pirates yesterday! First XI flipped the coin well and batted first and put 5/202 on the board at home against Whitfords, propelled by a second ton (106) in three matches by Jonathan Clifton opening the batting (pictured below). Whitfords (107) were never in the chase with 6 Pirate bowlers taking regular wickets, best figures to Captain Cadds with 4/33. First XI remain perfect after 7 rounds and top of the ladder.... Fourth grade traveled up the coast to Whitfords and called incorrectly at the toss and were surprised to be sent in to bat. Early trouble was recovered by a swashbuckling 92 from veteran Michael Kent batting at 6 and out in the last over guiding Pirates to 6/190. That target was far too much with the Pirates’ bowling firepower wrapping up a 113-run victory, Timothy Bodlovich ripping out the heart of the Whitfords top order with stunning figures of 4/11 from 8 overs. Pirates remain 3pts clear on top of the ladder after 7 rounds. At home once again, One Day 1 hosted Nollamara Ausind and secured a second win on the trot. Batting first, Pirates were off to a fast start thanks to opener Liam Hawkins belting 57 in just 9 overs and set a target of 213 with Harley Johnston top scoring with 75no. Pirates bowling never loosened their grip on the game with Nollaz all out for 111, a 101-run win. Seventh grade travelled to South Perth in a top-of-the-table clash. Uncharacteristically, the Pirates batting failed to fire with all batsmen outscored by the 21 wides South Perth sent down, scoring only 111 in total. That was not enough against the new ladder leaders although Pirates bowlers did manage to take 6 wickets, Harry Branley taking 3/16 from his 8 overs, before South Perth made it to the target. Seventh grade slip to 2nd on the ladder, still in a very strong position. One Day 3 hosted North Beach Carine at Tom Perrott and put 131 on the board, our 2nd-highest total of the season to date. Pirate bowlers removed 4 wickets in the chase but North Beach Carine were ultimately successful. Two day cricket returns for the mixed grades next weekend so chat to your captains, make yourselves available and get down to training during the week to get into 2-day mode! Go the Pirates!
20.01.2022 Congrats to Pirate representative superstars David Sheppard and Jonathan Clifton!

15.01.2022 SHIRT NUMBERS! Doubles are ok because it's way too hard to get everyone on a different number and most will play in different teams anyway. BUT, if you really want to have your own number, below are the double-ups (or triples!), so if you want to move away from one of these, please reach out to Simmo and see what other numbers are available (or comment below).... 1, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 14, 19, 21, 22, 23
14.01.2022 MILESTONES: A typical Pirates list here, with lots of bowling heroes and the batsmen with more work to do. Most sides are batting this weekend so hope to see a few scores on this list next week!
14.01.2022 PIRATE MILESTONES Congratulations to the Pirates listed below who have recently achieved milestones with the club! Keep an eye out for more big milestones coming up soon! Games:... 13.01.2022 FIXTURES: This weekend brings an opportunity for all three mixed grade teams to secure wins in the first two-day match of the season. First XI is 2/60 chasing 105... 4th Grade is 2/21 chasing 108 7th Grade is defending 174 Round 3 of the One-Day grade competition is also up, and weather is likely to be a factor this week, so be prepared for anything! Sunday also brings the next match in our T20 Division 1 competition with the side playing away at Nollamara at 3pm Sunday. If you can get down and support the team, that would be great! Good luck to all Pirates. Get down to training on Thursday and stretch the legs!
13.01.2022 FIXTURES: First XI, 4th Grade, and 7th Grade move onto Day 2 of these matches and all three sides batted first and all three sides put defendable scores on the board - 4ths & 7ths notching up 200+ along the way! Good luck to all, and if you are at a loose end on Sunday afternoon, the T20 Div 1 team would love your support at Murdoch Sportsground for the final preliminary T20 fixture - win and we host a Quarter Final at the Gil!
12.01.2022 A well deserved result in the WAFCC team of the year for our own Melissa Bownes. One of the most active and eager cricketers you’re likely to find, playing most Saturdays and Sundays and taking wickets no matter the opposition! Well done Mel!
11.01.2022 TEAMS: With three sides in the midst of two-day matches, only 2 sides to be selected for Saturday! With the weather not looking accommodating, we can but wait and hope! Good luck to all!
11.01.2022 G'day to all Pirates. Our last club function for the season will be held informally at the clubrooms at Gil Fraser tomorrow (Saturday) from 1:30pm. This will essentially be our windup and our last chance to look back on a great cricket season. There will be some food and good prices over the bar to draw down on some stock in the fridges. The footy will be on the big screen as well. We might need a small cleanup around the club rooms, but many hands make light work.... Looking forward to seeing as many guys and girls as possible! Go the Pirates! ps - please do not come if you or anyone in your household is exhibiting flu-like symptoms. pps - please wash your hands.
10.01.2022 We see a familiar name here... The five best bowling figures in the entire country, topped by Pirate in a grand final. Just one run conceded behind the best figures ever in Pirate history!... Duffman

Alex and his wife Pat were integral and much loved volunteers of our club over many years, and even in recent times in his advancing years he was often seen down at the club watching the home sides on a Saturday afternoon and behind the bar. Our condolences are extended to all Alex's friends and family, but particularly Craig, Faye, Brian & Todd at this sad time.
07.01.2022 Ahoy Pirates Training continues this evening at Elite Cricket in Cockburn! Would be great to see some good numbers in action as we get closer to outdoor sessions.
