21.01.2022 At a local club yesterday, we had a number of students away for various reasons, with only 2 boys in attendance. How to engage two 9 year old boys for the session? We had a duel, thats what! A French Club face-off where the boys, armed with a table each, competitive spirits and their French vocab at the ready participated in a variety of activities and games and were rewarded with points in the form of 1 Euro coins for every correct answer or contribution they made using French. And with 3 girls at a club a couple of weeks back? They elected to take on a collaborative task together for the class. Really important to key into what motivates individual learners as well as the different strategies to engage both boys and girls
