19.01.2022 "QQ" is oh so "cute cute". This Ruby Red coated Cavalier King Charles came to see us this week with an irritated paw, which he had been chewing at. The vet noted some dermatitis in between his toes. He was prescribed some cream that will help with the irritation and inflammation. We also gave him a lamp shade (e- collar) to wear to stop him from being able to reach the area and lick it. He was such a brave patient!!!
19.01.2022 Its "Happy International Hug Your Cat Day". Yes this is a real thing lol. So extra hugs for all those special feline companions today.

His owners will continue his care at home with medication and a special diet and he will be back soon for another check up and of course more belly rubs.

18.01.2022 Blair is a popular face at Frenchs Forest Vet Hospital. She is a regular boarder in our cattery and a big distraction for our staff members, who are often missing from their duties to pay her a visit, she laps up the attention . We think her cat carrier is just Furrtastic!!

17.01.2022 It was so wonderful to see Stretch looking so healthy and well this week. This feline friend was really sick not that long ago, it was found he had a fetish for one of his humans hair ties, he had surgery where they removed a tennis ball sized amount of hair ties from his abdomen. All hair ties are now hidden and counted in their household.
17.01.2022 A big thank you to Pat who has added a new furry family member into her life. This beautiful little female bunny was brought to us as a stray and needed to find a special new furever home. Pat was quick to offer a caring new home and a companion for her other rescue bunny.
16.01.2022 A heavily pregnant female flying fox came in with a open fracture of the radius ulna which are fused in bats . We gave a cesarean and sadly had euthanase mum . The little boy pup is doing well in a humidicrib and nebuliser . The volunteers look after these special animals at their own cost . The flying fox is a vulnerable species due to habitat loss and humans shooting them on their properties and netting trees the wrong way . These amazing mammals fly around with their pups for 6 weeks then they leave them in a nursery tree and come back to feed through the night . They are able to have one pup a year and only have 3-5 in a life time .

10.01.2022 Which is my best angle?? I'm Pawsome on the catwalk . Fergus is a Sphinx, not a feline we see everyday.
10.01.2022 Look at that smile. Pluto is feeling much better after having his Aural hematoma surgery today. Ear hematomas occur when a blood vessel bursts and bleeds into the space between the cartlige and skin. This usually occurs because of some sort of trauma, like scratching, shaking the ears etc. Without surgery the blood will clot and distort the ear to look like an old 1980s football player.
10.01.2022 Vincent was one cool, calm and collected cat for his Health Check and Vaccination today. He was given a dose of Bravecto Plus to keep him safe from Ticks, Fleas and Worms (heart and tummy). It was also recommended that he is booked in for a dental scale and polish as he is getting some build up of tartar on his teeth. We are doing contactless consults at the moment due to Covid, as you can see he wasn't to worried about leaving his human in the carpark lol.

04.01.2022 Henry the wonderful Westie came to us this morning with a limp. The vet examined him and worked out it was to do with an allergy on all of his tootsies, which have been itchy lately . He was given a nice warm malaseb (antibacterial/fungal) foot bath by our nurses and a Cytopoint injection which will hopefully relieve the allergic itch. Good boy Henry!!

03.01.2022 ITS DENTAL MONTH!!! Did you know that 85% of all pets have periodontal disease by the age of three. Dental disease not only causes bad breath, it can lead to pain when chewing, tooth loss and the bacteria under the gums can get into the blood stream and have a negative effect on the liver and kidneys. Having a professional dental clean under anaesthetic will remove tarter and plaque build up from their teeth and under the gum line, it will also greatly improve your ...pets overall health. We use an ultrasonic dental scaler and various instruments and devices to remove the nasty build up on their teeth and get them nice and clean again. Frenchs Forest Vet Hospital provides their clients with FREE dental check appointments. Carter in the below picture recently had a scale and polish done with us, you can see how well his teeth have cleaned up. Luckily he needed no dental extractions and his lovely owner Nurse Tori will continue with the appropriate home care to keep them that way e.g. Dental food, dental treats, water and food additives etc. There are many options available to prevent further build up and keep a happy healthy mouth. Talk to our helpful staff about it. See more
