24.01.2022 Are you a taster or drinker of wine? More importantly which do you want to be? We usually start as drinkers, then one day you notice a particular wine. It changes your perception. This is paying attention to your senses. ... A bit like the distinction between hearing and listening; hearing requires no effort or attention, listening does. The same distinction divides drinking and tasting. Drinking is easy; you've been doing it since you were born. But to really taste wine, you need to take time and pay attention to your senses. Evaluating wine means using your senses of sight, smell, taste and touch. You use your eyes to see and your your sense of smell and taste to pick up aromas, and finally understand quality.
