24.01.2022 A good day. All Frenetic's customers now have extra speed added to their subscription for the month of June to celebrate Frenetic's 1st birthday! We were loaned an auger from one Frenetic customer, who already acts as a node host, so we can install a pole to enable another Frenetic customer to get an even better service. It may sound a small thing but that sense of community and support is what will help Frenetic and every Frenetic customer to grow, thrive and continually improve the service for the benefit of all!!
24.01.2022 Performed a couple of installs today. The first, Cullulla Road, went well. Lots of fun with the 2 pups at the property. Final result was great speeds and a promise of a beer at the local. The second install didn't go according to plan. Too many trees when installed on the residence roof, even for lower frequency gear. So, we took a wander around the paddock until we caught a good signal. Tomorrow, we're going to auger a hole, plant a pole and trench back to the residenc...e. No extra charge from Frenetic, mattocks in the back of the Ute already, borrowing an auger from another Frenetic subscriber to get the hole dug, throw a few snags on the BBQ and we'll make a fun afternoon of it. THIS is why rural life is so good. :D
24.01.2022 To all of frenetic’s friends, thank you so much for all the support you have shown us in 2019. Happy new year and our very best wishes for a safe and prosperous 2020. We’ve a great feeling about the year to come!!
24.01.2022 A couple of mentions for Christmas day. Frenetic will be available from 6am to midday in case of any issues. We don't want anyone missing a critical XBox / PS4 / Nintendo update or Facetime with the relatives!! We have spare capacity and will be making all connections uinlimited data and unlimited speed for Christmas day so updates for new consoles / games / or the Queen's speech in ultra-high-def-3D-surround-solidigram-smell'o'vision can be enjoyed. PLEASE consider the res...t of the frenetic clan and enjoy the best internet we can provide! Very many Christmas wishes to everyone!!
20.01.2022 Deploying a node just off Spa Road in Windellama. Finished the base today and hope to have the node complete by weekend. Frenetic's first step to getting comprehensive network coverage across Windellama district. The satellite map illustrates the calculated coverage from the new node. Light blue inidicates excellent chance of good connectivity. .
20.01.2022 Gotta be happy with this result at Goulburn Airport using Frenetic internet services.
20.01.2022 Frenetic is 1 year old, today!! All our plans are unlimited data, so we're giving everyone 50% more speed for free during June!Frenetic is 1 year old, today!! All our plans are unlimited data, so we're giving everyone 50% more speed for free during June!
20.01.2022 Just checking on the delivery schedule for some new 60GHz radios. Very excited as these beasts deliver some serious throughput (up to 1.8Gbps full duplex) with low latency and decent range. Shipping from Czech Republic via UK. Certified but not available to buy in Australia yet.
19.01.2022 Frenetic internet, a service with truly unlimited data. Frenetic's top 5 data users last night. The bars in dark blue indicate the data download of top 5 individual clients from midnight to 07:30 on 01/04/21 , those in light blue are from midday to midnight 31/03/21. Top 'talker' has also uploaded almost 5GB data making total data transferred almost 59GB in under 8 hours.
19.01.2022 Great way to finish the year. First fix on an external wifi access point for an existing customer now provides wifi and wifi calling across their paddocks. The guys are pretty stoked with the safety of having phone coverage around the property. No cellular signal available. The picture was taken at approx 250m from the house with peak speeds up to 8Mbps still available on an older iPhone!
17.01.2022 Opening up connections for Frenetic's members (we're a group of people striving for better communications in rural areas) highlighted a link that needed an urgent upgrade. Following Frenetic’s upgrade work yesterday, we monitored our network closely last night. I’m pleased to say that we have lots of bandwidth available when required, we reached a new record speed for the network and peak latency was approximately 17% lower during peak period. Using roads and traffic as an a...nalogy, Our new road is wider and we have more lanes to open when needed, the permissible speed limit has been increased and travel times at peak periods have been reduced by 17%. A great result! We will be performing further upgrades (roadworks) later this month but we aim to provide you with more notice.
16.01.2022 Another good day. Got a new node running at the Tarago side of Oallen and connected the hosts. There is a planned upgrade for this node happening next week but we're seeing great speeds to phones, tablets and laptops for the hosts already! Below is a 10km radius coverage map from this node. If you live in a blue area...there's a good chance we can get you connected to frenetic internet services.
14.01.2022 Hey everyone, we've been quiet on Facebook for a few weeks as a new fibre backhaul link with lots more speed has been delivered and we've helped one of our larger customers mothball operations for the duration of the pandemic. After the long Easter weekend we will be letterbox dropping with a flyer. The flyer, if you receive one, provides details about our service and contact details BUT also indicates that you have been coverage checked and can connect to Frenetic. Frenetic... take social distancing and self isolation very seriously. We have developed a solution that will provide a wireless internet service WITHOUT Frenetic needing to enter the property. If you are OK with us entering the property to perform a standard installation, we will be wearing PPE. So, keep an eye on your letterbox for a Frenetic flyer!!
12.01.2022 Frenetic will be deploying a new node for the Covan Creek area within the next 3-4 weeks. We've secured the location, the landowner has been incredibly supportive and cleared a large area at the top of the mountain so we have clear line of sight down the valley. A little more work to do with another node and connecting backhaul links then we'll be good to go!!
11.01.2022 Since 1st June we've been running member connections at unshaped speeds so we could test our new fibre backhaul link. The test results have been extremely positive. From 1st August we will be providing all member connections with a 50% peak speed boost, free of charge. The peak speed boost will help with streaming services such as Netflix and small file downloads (typically emails with attachments, datasheets on websites, etc.) This is the first time Frenetic have really b...een able to say thank-you for your support of our service designed to deliver better internet to rural and remote families. As we grow, we will continue to offer faster speeds at cheaper prices. Thank you!
11.01.2022 Today, frenetic purchased 3 mobile data plans from Optus, including a decent 4G modem on each plan, for new customers. At $68 per month for 500GB data, these no lock in plans represent real value for money compared to NBN satellite internet services, IF you can receive an Optus cellular signal. If you receive only 1 or 2 bars, an external antenna can always be added to improve your received signal and your internet speed. Frenetic can assist with the installation of a compa...tible 4G antenna if required. If you need more than 500GB data (larger families, working from home, lots of gaming etc.,) or more stable speeds than cellular (quite variable at peak periods) frenetic are building out our network to improve rural coverage of fixed wireless internet services with high speeds and unlimited data.
10.01.2022 The other end of the upgraded link we’re putting in place for 01/01/2020!! This dish will be sprayed a similar colour to the tanks to minimise visual impact. With the upgraded fibre backhaul connection coming in a few weeks, frenetic will be expanding our network coverage significantly in the new year!!
08.01.2022 The owners of this tiny house wanted a discrete installation. We're repeating from a neighbour to connect with a minimal footprint radio.
07.01.2022 I'm a little bit gobsmacked at this. BIRRR are meant to advocate for Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) to encourage improved communications to families in rural, regional and remote areas of Australia. I raised a discussion regarding a Telstra small cell node being erected within 12m of an existing Frenetic node, was told by one of the admins that some of my statements were incorrect, suggested I was 'blaming' somebody, then turned off commenting. Way to go, BIRRR. Lots of value to Australians getting the raw end of the NBN and on the wrong side of the 'digital divide'.
06.01.2022 A new install along Boro Road. Custom roof mount solution is working well. Network connection not meeting requirements so we’re going to work on that. Still, lessons learned, and great guys to work with!
06.01.2022 Covan Creek node progress. Tower up, radios on. Massive thanks to Darius for the helping hand!! Next comes power then node testing. Should be fully operational by next weekend.
06.01.2022 Frenetic's latest node being deployed at COVAN CREEK! We should be up and operational within the next 7-10 days. Many thanks to Ian, Austin and everyone at Connen Hill Lucerne, https://www.facebook.com/connenhilllucerne/, for their gracious permission to deploy a node on their farm. Frenetic really can't deliver fast, unlimited internet services to rural famiies and businesses without the support of great local landowners! As always, many thanks to Phil, Dano and Charli...e from Dirtworx Goulburn, https://www.facebook.com//DirtWorx-Goulbu/100014701064677/, for their fantastic work. A great pleasure working with such professionals! Looking forward to providing Covan Creek families with internet services and unlimited anytime data!
05.01.2022 Recently, I've had a few people ask me why they should consider Frenetic internet services, if we have them covered, rather than Telstra or Optus mobile internet. Telstra is $75 per month for 200GB anytime data and $1 per GB data if you exceed your plan. The internet speed you receive is 'best efforts'. Optus is $68 per month for 500GB anytime data and $1 per GB data if you exceed your plan. The internet speed you receive is 'best efforts'.... Frenetic only have unlimited data plans. We charge by speed at $10 per Mbps per month. Relative to Telstra and Optus, that equates to approx 7Mbps speed with unlimited data. A standard definition movie streamed from Netflix needs around 3Mbps, high-definition about 6Mbps. To have a satisfactory experience, those speeds need to be consistent. Below are 2 screenshots from real-world speed tests conducted using an Optus mobile internet service. Poor speed consistency and a poor overall experience.
02.01.2022 Always a pleasure to receive positive feedback.
02.01.2022 A good day. Got the guys at Sandy Point connected. Temporary install until the trench is finished but NBN satellite speeds (which they had), unlimited data and half the monthly cost!! We also got a family on Covan Creek Road connected this afternoon. Smashing 50Mbps download speeds using a newly released antenna that we’re testing. Great result!! We’ve limited coverage along Covan Creek but in discussion with a couple of landholders to deploy a node. Hopefully we’ll have the valley covered very soon.
