02.01.2022 It’s a story 2,500 years in the making! An Egyptian mummy discovered at Sydney University contains human remains. For the past 150 years the ancient coffin laid undisturbed in a storeroom, since Sir Charles Nicholson brought it to Australia. In late 2017, Egyptologist Dr Connie Lord (1986) and colleagues opened Sarcophagus NMR. 29. To their collective amazement it contained human remains believed to be the feet, ankles and other skeleton parts an Egyptian priestess - Mer-Neith-ites. The discovery has the world of Egyptian archaeology buzzing. For the full story by Candice Sutton news.com.au (28/3/2018). #sydneyuni
