I want you to understand exactly why we desperately need you to chip in tonight. It’s crucial that we raise these funds. 8,000 homeless people won’t be sleeping safely or in comfort tonight across Australia. It’s not a joke As you know, we have established something special. It’s unique and gives hope to those doing it rough due to homelessness or domestic violence. No one else does what we do in Australia. We believe everyone deserves a bed to sleep in. We take spaces, normally underground car parks, that are busy during the day but left empty and abandoned at night time and we activate them in to pop up accommodation to provide a safe, secure and comfortable shelter to get a good night’s sleep. We’ve completed a two-week pilot in Brisbane CBD. In JUST two weeks we have already made positive impacts on the lives of our most vulnerable. We have shown that the model works and are also receiving such positive feedback: After spending the week here, having a good sleep at night and a routine, it reminded me of life. It’s the first time I have had a dream in years However, the truth is, we need urgent funds to now expand. Our vision is to help EVERY Australian doing it tough and suffering homelessness, to give them a better night’s sleep and get them back on the road to recovery. It’s a big project but we know we can do it. We’ve done the ground work but just don’t have the funds to expand as quickly as we would like. It seriously pains us. We are ready to go.. To help save lives, we need your help. We are looking to raise $50,000 tonight, to keep up with demand and help us roll this out across Queensland to startI know it’s a big number (gulp) but if we all chip in together we can do this. $20 funds a doona and sheet for a homeless man or woman, giving them the security, warmth and hope to keep on going. Can you please donate just $5? It is just the cost of your next cup of warm coffee in the morning but one that will help us save more lives.
