20.01.2022 So last night we attended the HIA apprentice awards to celebrate Nicks achievements and hard work. There's not a more deserving apprentice out there and I know that for a fact, he rocks up day in day out and works his ass of for me, fresh cut carpentry and the clients that we work for. His quality and attention to detail is above and beyond what you can expect from the every day apprentice (and most subbies) and he's got a work ethic to match!! And that's the reason why he cleaned up last night!! He took out 2nd year best carpenter and joiner and best over all second year apprentice!! I'm proud of you bro !! You deserve it!! 19.01.2022 Finally we where able to get back and finish off this re-roof and cedar lining for @dhutcheon_23 and his family!! I can safely say that this was the most challenging job I've ever taken on in my career!! But I could not be happier with the finished product, western red cedar broken up by white mouldings and what will eventually be white exposed roofing timbers. We ripped out an old pair of double doors and replaced them with this amazing new stain grade 1020 front with matching sidelights. With screws thats disappear into the material to top it off!!... 08.01.2022 Loving the look of these slage locks! Unfortunately for me there's 20 of them to install and fit off all of which are mortises!! But none the less they look fantastic on these overheight doors with a crisp, clean looking rectangular pattern!! I installed the metal knock down frames so that the heads of the frames ran along the same plane together, then when I installed the doors I used my @dewalt_australia laser level to line up the two patterns with each other!! That made ...it a lot easier to then line these handles up when it came time to install them because I had ensured that my frames and my doors where perfectly in line!! It's a bit more time consuming but the final product is something to sit back and be proud of!! Let me know what you think!! 04.01.2022 A really fun project project for my mate @comty_pierre at his home in freo!! We Had a section Cut out in the brickwork above the old door frame to open up the space ready for a new custom made hilite timber frame ready for glass to be custom fit into! Then we removed the old door and architraves and replaced them with a whole new setup! New door , new architraves and skirting blocks to transition the new and the old mouldings together! Cant wait to see this one all paint...ed up and with the new glass fitted!
