10.01.2022 Let’s talk superficial skin ‘frosting’ or ‘blanching’ when a chemical peel has been applied to the skins surface! Superficial frosting is a crystal residue of salicylic acid that accumulates on the skins surface and can often be wiped away. It appears as a light white colour - hence the name ‘frosting’. This frosting affect is very common when we apply our Jessner peel or salicylic acid peel during skin treatments. ... Blanching - is when there is a change to the protein within our skin, caused by extreme heat (in our case - when a chemical peel is applied to the skins surface). This usually occurs when a peel has penetrated quite deep within the skins layers - great for correcting and improving deep set skin concerns - Such as acne scarring, stubborn hyper pigment or fine lines and wrinkles. Spot- blanching can occur in areas that may have been a little more sensitive or dehydrated or to an area where we performed extractions prior to the peel application. It is important to remember - frosting or blanching can be a normal skin response when we apply a stronger chemical peel to the skins surface. We are inducing a controlled trauma to your skin - increasing heat & dropping your skins PH balance, to force your skin cells to increase the way they are functioning within - helping to increase overall healing time and collagen and elastin production, which naturally slows down past the age of 25! Post chemical peel, skin flaking on day 1-2 post treatment, is very normal. If frosting or blanching has occurred, the skin may scab slightly (especially where extractions were performed) and will definitely flake quite intensely- usually starting 1 day after the treatment & can continue to flake for 3-5 days post treatment. It is important to be gentle with your skin post peel. We strongly recommend using nourishing & calming products for the first 7 days, such as our @freshfaceskin Soother cleanser and Soother treatment both morning and night and SPF applied always in the morning! No exercise for 12 hours post treatment & no sun exposure for 7 days post treatment! We will always go through your aftercare with you at the end of each and every app with us. See more

01.01.2022 Appreciation post to my incredible team of skin therapists (+ Claire who’s back from maternity leave in July!) From left to right: Ani, Kiara, myself - Amelia & Tanya. ... It’s taken me a while to find my team & feel comfortable and confident in trusting other therapists with my clients skin, as I truly have built this beloved business of mine, from the ground up. As some of my longest clients know, I started on my own, treating skin, by renting 1 room at a hairdressing salon in Mt Evelyn, just over 2.5 years ago now... I was a one woman show that just loved what I did completely & have been so blessed to have grown my business so quickly, from then to now. My beauty career began over 10 years now & started as a beauty therapist that fell in love with treating skin & soon developed into a skin trainer for numerous salons & skin clinics across Victoria, after completing my cert 4 in training and assessment. It was here, that I realised there was a gap in he market that I had to fill... & this is where my @freshfaceskin product range development began. After just 1 year of going out on my own, my books were fully booked 3-4 months in advance so I needed help! I then brought on an old work colleague, passionate skin therapist & friend - Claire. From there, I have welcomed more passionate and talented skin therapists to work for Fresh Face Skin, that share the same love for skin that I do & that have the same high level of skin treating experience. We follow the same Fresh Face Skin treatment protocols that I have created and each share a real love for delivering results driven skin treatments, that leave our clients feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and excited for their skin journey ahead with us!
