20.01.2022 Yesterday we opened two boxes of cooked banana prawns caught from our boat the Leveque. Both batches of prawns were caught around the same time. Do you know why there is such a huge difference in colour? The prawns on the left were caught and cooked at night while the prawns on the right were caught and cooked at day time. #freshfishshack

20.01.2022 Fresh fish in store now! The boys have caught a good load of flametail snapper in this catch. Flametail Snapper is one of the best tasting deep water fish going around in our opinion.

20.01.2022 BLUE EYE TREVALLA!!! That’s right it’s a locally caught blue eye whilst Ruby snapper fishing. We have caught a few blue eye trevella over the years up here and even past the monte Bello islands but it has been a few years since we have seen one. If your interested in tasting something different to the north west then pop into the shop quick as the boys are filleting it now and there is only one.

18.01.2022 The boys on Dandee are just in with fresh fish for the shop. They caught some black jewfish this trip which isnt a common catch for us out of Exmouth. These medium size specimens are beautifull eating and will be in the shop fresh this arvo.

17.01.2022 So this is what all the fuss is about. Black Jewfish swim bladders are a delicacy that usually fetch prices of up to $1000kg. We are selling these ones for $10 each so if you are a foodie that is interested in trying different types of seafood pop in and give them a go. Here at the fresh fish shack we have never tried Black Jewfish swim bladders before so if they dont sell we will be eating them ourselves for dinner.
