French Lamb Casserole - 4 Ingredients One Pot One Bowl Serves 6... * 1KG (2 pounds) Lamb Chops * 1 Packet of french onion soup * 1 can of crushed tomatoes with herbs and garlic * 6 carrots halved Place all the ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours. Optional: Serve on mashed potatoes or polenta. A side of steamed vegetables goes beautifully. This is gorgeous the next day on a nice multi-grain roll for lunch. IT'S THAT EASY!!! NOTE: In the UK & Ireland I have found Ainsley Harriott's packet soup range (french onion ) to be the best. In the USA I have found the envelopes of Lipton french onion soup the easiest to find. Personal Tip: Now for those of you around the world who cannot find french onion DRIED soup mix to be used in casseroles and stew, or for those of you who cannot consume the existing packet variety due to dietary needs or intolerances, here's my home made DRIED french onion soup recipe, thanks to one of our 4I kids who researched and found a home made solution: * 3/4 cup freeze dried onion * 1/3 cup beef stock powder * 4 teaspoons onion powder * 1/4 teaspoon crushed celery seed Optional for taste a quarter teaspoon of raw sugar Directions: Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container.
