21.01.2022 We have been silent these few months, working on a delicious project with my friend Marie Liang. Building on my interest for Australian native plants I developed running my kokedama studio Twined, I finally found a yummy way to intertwine them with... food. We are officially launching a range of Australian native botanicals for creative food and drinks, VIOLET & GOLD. Why that name? Because we love violet the colour, the Australian native violet is lovely, and the Golden watt...le is our National floral emblem. Plus, the violet and gold colours work well together, right? So Marie and I have been tweaking French syrup recipes, testing, boiling, macerating, infusing Australian native botanicals. Tasting and re-tasting - that's the best part, you can imagine! We found a great creative agency along the way, Nectar & Co, who worked on our logo and label design . But no violet nor gold in our brand colours - too "deja vu" ! We worked on our website (well, Marie did), on food and drink recipes to use our syrups. We reviewed hundreds bottles and finally agreed on THE bottle that is beautiful enough to hold the yummy syrup we handcraft with love. We participated in dozens of webinars, some glamourous, some boring: launching a food product, using social media, sales to retailers, taxes, cashflow, crowdfunding... We launch 5 recipes handcrafted with love, here in the (still green) Hornsby shire - Lemon myrtle | Lemon myrtle & ginger | Tasmanian pepper | Tasmanian pepper & Strawberry | Wattleseed. 100% Australian ingredients, vegan, dairy-free, no artificial colours and no preservatives.
