25.01.2022 Hi Weekly Times, I’m quite annoyed at the one sided article you placed in this weeks paper regarding free range eggs and the opinions of Dr Peter Scott. As a pastured free range egg farmer, I take huge offence to his generalisations and assumptions that he just broadly swept across the entire free range sector. Who pays this mans wages? I think you’ll find it’s the Egg Board who wouldn’t mind us little battlers to just disappear forever. And if there’s a well renown vet stating untruths like this guy has, what hope have smaller producers of advancing our methods or getting the support that would be awarded in other agricultural fields? None! It’s a one sided playing field, and you at the Weekly Times are playing straight into their hands. Thanks a heap.
