24.01.2022 DEAREST FOLLOWERS || First and foremost ~ stay positive, stay strong and stay connected with absolute kindness to all those in our #beautifulbridgetown community. As we are all adjusting to these unprecedented times we @fridgetownfest must consider your health as our highest priority and given the unfolding situation Fridgetown Fest 2020 at this stage will not be held in its usual entirety. We will keep you as updated as possible however the following information given to us ...from the president is the Bridgetown Greenbushes Tourism Association means we will likely be postponing the festival until 2021.........The BGBTA committee has pulled event funding applications, there will be no Puzzletown2020 during the July school holidays; there will be no Fridgetownfest booklet of activities; Banquet on a Bridge will happen at a date to be confirmed; and there will be no Business After 5's until further notice. What is still happening through the BGBTA however, is Community Cash Vouchers, available from the Bridgetown CRC , so you can give the gift of shopping local, now and always! Support our small businesses in every way you can, spend times with loved ones and always practise love, kindness and cleanliness Keep finding the positives in each day and we promise to keep you updated if (when ) things change and Fridgetown Fest is back on. Thank you for your understanding at this time. See more

23.01.2022 I think we are all adjusting to the fact that it is going to be a quiet winter. The BGBTA committee has agreed to pull our event funding applications, so there... will be no Puzzletown2020 during the July school holidays; there will be no Fridgetownfest booklet of activities; Banquet on a Bridge will happen at a date to be confirmed; and there will be no Business After 5's until further notice. What is still happening however, is Community Cash Vouchers, available from the Bridgetown CRC , so you can give the gift of shopping local, now and always! Keep finding the positives in each day, and start dreaming up the Back in Business Festival we will have once this cloud has lifted!! See more

23.01.2022 Good Morning Bridgetown It’s going to be a fabulous day! We hope you have all been keeping well and keeping warm as the weather cools down. We are so grateful to our community for the positivity, commitment to shop local and genuine caring small town spirit that has seen us through these unprecedented times. Moving forward with sensibility, sensitivity and a little hand sanitiser wishing all our lovely followers a wonderful week and all our local businesses too

20.01.2022 FRIDGETOWNIANS We are delighted to announce @fridgetownfest has been awarded funding as part of the 2020-21 Regional Events Scheme thanks to @westernaustralia The grant will go towards our marketing and branding strategy to help us raise the profile of the Festival in order to attract more attention and visitors and ultimately contribute to tourism and economic growth in our region. ... Due to COVID-19, even with restrictions easing we are unsure how or exactly when @fridgetownfest will take place but the committee will be meeting in the coming week to make some decisions and discuss with the BGBTA to develop a plan that works. In response to the ongoing COVID situation, this year’s RES Funding period has been extended, meaning that we have until December 2021 to hold our event and utilise the funds. We will certainly keep everyone informed as soon as we have further details! We are grateful to all those individuals and businesses who wrote letters of support for Fridgetown Fest’s RES Funding application and for the ongoing community support we receive every year. We’re also heartened to see so many visitors in Bridgetown-Greenbushes and although FridgetownFest may not take place as planned in its usual capacity, we urge everyone to keep an eye out for Fridgetown Fest updates in the coming weeks on social media so you don’t miss out on anything! Stay safe, keep warm, be kind and enjoy the start of winter

18.01.2022 What does this Coronavirus mayhem mean for little ol' Bridgetown and Greenbushes??? Only time will tell. For the BGBTA, it means that we are unlikely to receive... much funding for our main Puzzletown event, planned for the first weekend in July, as it attracts over 500 people. But both @Fridgetownfest and @Puzzletown can, and should, still go ahead! As a community, we can create three months worth of smaller events, make every weekend interesting and vibrant through winter and encourage people to #doitinWA in our region! So get your creative vibes flowing and plan something for June, July and/or August. The program is already taking shape. Online forms for registering your plans will be available soon, but in the meantime you can email our small, but dedicated team at [email protected] with your ideas. Let's keep our region as vibrant and healthy as we can - support our local businesses, holiday at home, look out for your neighbours and wash your hands! See more

01.01.2022 Aren’t we so lucky here in the Southwest. There are so many amazing places right on our door step like Mount Jones Dam which is part of the amazing Greenbushes Loop Walk, 16km of stunning scenery fauna and flora. Perfect to hike in the cooler months with reports of some people doing it in 3 hours and others at a leisurely stroll of 7 hours. What will you get up to once we are all safely out of the woods?
