23.01.2022 Thanks great people of Avoca for your wonderful support for our art show, Avoca Impressions at the Christian meditation centre. You came in your hundreds not only with praise but fascinating stories about Avoca which can be the subject of future articles in the newsletter I hope. is very clear that your favourite paintings were the five or six of the Avoca theatre which backs the almost universal feeling that we want it to stay the way it is. None of those paintings were fo...r sale except for one which slipped through our fingers into very good hands. But the good news is that I've been commissioned to do copies and have discovered I'm still capable of doing that (just) , making copies that are as good as the originals. This means perhaps being able to satisfy Avocans with theatre memorabilia of asked. Here is the first copy made for someone who wanted their own version of the walk to the beach, the second most popular painting in the show. As good as the orginal? What do you think Lorraine? So its full steam ahead with both keeping the core collection together as a present for the village, and also being able to supply copies which are almost as good. The venue, meditation centre proved superb, a perfect size for local artists and we hope the wonderful Stephanie Hall will be able to keep it in her hands through this year. 20.01.2022 It is so sad that the theatre has had to close. The virus moves with the speed of a tsunami, unraveling our social fabric, and one cant keep up with the new losses each day. I hope it wont be for long. The Hunters have always been true to their arthouse programming which is the best on the coast. Patrons will be in pain.

15.01.2022 Today is the last day of our show, Avoca Impressions . It's been a great success. people love the idea of art telling the stor of our village. Also, it's been a great opportunity to talk about the theatre with virtually everyone who comes through the door, hoping that by some miracle the theatre development does not go ahead. If you want to see the theatre paintings "live" come by today next to the post office from 10.30 am till ^pm. See you! T

13.01.2022 How do you feel about the fact that the Avoca theatre, with it's clever advertising for bric-a-brac sales, uses a photo which shows the theatre at its traditional best.? When they do so it's in the full knowledge that what they have in mind, with their four screens, will have none of the intimacy and charm we see here . A different charm, you say? Well, time will tell wont it? in the meantime, I would suggest, in the spirit of truth in advertising, they not use this lovely nighttime photo. We could lend them this other one. We spent quite a lot trying to visualise what the new building will look like and it's not pretty

07.01.2022 If you'd like to see paintings of the theatre come to my show of 70 paintings of Avoca, Avoca impressionism 22 Years Painting the Village, which is on display all December in the Christian mediation Centre in the centre of the village next to the Locksmith. We are there every day from mid morning till the afternoon. And if not there, phone the number on the door and we'll open up for you.
