24.01.2022 Don't know why this surprised me, brush turkeys enjoying the low tide and foreshore near Sanders, d'Albora Marina, Cabarita Park. There were 3 enjoying the weather and the view and happy to pose for me. Has anyone else seen them in the area?
23.01.2022 Dear Friends, The continued improvement of the Park, is assisted by your contact with City of Canada Bay Council . To report any damage or park problems email: [email protected] with your name and contact in order to receive a response. A photo is helpful. Recently, I send this photo "Sand is covering the concrete pathway, making it difficult for visitors on walkers or wheelchairs and children using scooters and bikes. I have witnessed children falling off their bikes even when there is a light covering of sand". Contact Counsellor by cc: [email protected] Andrew is there to assist.
20.01.2022 Firewood, for viewing only, complete with Cone for identification of where the branches are? Tree branches lopped by Council obviously for safety reasons, are still waiting to be removed. Hope removal won't take as long as the fallen dead branches on the Kendall Bay side of the Park which took years to remove.
19.01.2022 It's the time of the year that we send our Joy of Christmas to all of our "friends" of Cabarita Park and Wharf. We thank you for your participation and feedback and support in terms of the Park and surrounding area. Yes we have been quiet but that's just how it is right now. All is well. Our sincere good wishes to YOU.
16.01.2022 Delight in the Jacaranda Trees throughout Cabarita Park and nearby Kendall Reserve whilst they are in bloom.
14.01.2022 Hello Again Rafters! As advised in our mail box, the Unit Base of 'Back to the Rafters' will be using the parking bays along the access road (Remembrance Drive) to the Cabarita Swimming Centre on filming days. 19/21/26/28/29 September
14.01.2022 A delightful view through the native trees and grasses on the western side of beautiful Cabarita Park overlooking Kendall Bay.
12.01.2022 Sunday 8 November a well used pretty spot for families together, a different look during the week, note dirty and sand covered slippery paths, especially when children are running and using scooters etc.
12.01.2022 Saturday 13 March 11am - 12.30pm IGA Breakfast Point and 1-3pm Concord Library for "conversations with the Mayor". We have continued to call for soft fall for the Play Space. Friends, have met Council since 2010, prior to the inception of the new playground, we were asked to choose the equipment relating to LET'S ALL PLAY and soft fall was considered as best practice, then "all children, especially handicapped, parents & elderly could use the area with safety. Play Space was... opened by the Mayor in August 2014 on a blisteringly hot day, where it was impossible to walk on the hot sand. Our 2 Surveys 2015 & 2017 from park users 78.9% have indicated a preference for soft fall. After 6 yrs Council has applied for 2 grants which may or may not be approved for the Playspace? We suggest that if you agree, soft fall be included in your conversation with the Mayor See more
12.01.2022 Hi, Alison Rudland from Cabarita Road has asked for assistance, re lost pet? Read on " A small grey and white cat has been coming to our door after following us through Cabarita Park on Saturday night. I am worried it is lost as it seems friendly but scared. Last night it wanted to come indoors. I am contacting various pet lost and found places but wondered if we could post in Friends of Cabarita. It is so distressing to lose a pet and if may belong to one of our residents in Edgewood". If anyone can assist, please contact Alison or our FB site.
11.01.2022 Moveable Sculpture by Emma Anna purchased by Council 2015/16
11.01.2022 The park was very noisy this morning. Walking, noticed there were 3 grass cutters, usually only 1, occasionally. Wondered if anyone of importance was on Council's agenda to visit? In the garden area beside the Conservatory, a large tree stump was being removed, the tree fell earlier in the year after a big storm. I hesitated to take pics of Council's staff, but couldn't resist the hat.
10.01.2022 Dear Friends of Cabarita Park and Wharf, we have been advised that "Council is undertaking a place making project in Drummoyne as part of our response to COVID 19. It is proposed that IMAG_NE is temporarily positioned in a road closure being undertaken for this project. It is anticipated that the sculpture will generate interest in how spaces and places can be re-imagined.The sculpture has travelled around Australia, New Zealand, America and Denmark and this is a great opport...unity for a new audience to view the work and take a selfie .It will return to its home in Cabarita Park early in the New Year". IMAG_NE is a movable sculpture by EMMA ANNA. The middle photo an E is missing, unfortunately due to vandalism, which has been replaced. Council purchased the sculpture in 2015/6 after it had been displayed at Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi Beach to Tamarama. See more

04.01.2022 Blasts from the past, Environmental Services team pick up garbage.
03.01.2022 Frolicking Lovelies enjoying Cabarita Beach 2137
02.01.2022 https://canadabayheritage.asn.au/why-is-it-called-cabarita/ Excellent article from Canada Bay Heritage 31 Oct, to answer the Q: "Why is it called Cabarita"? read on
01.01.2022 Yes, Friends Cabarita Beach 2137 gets a SMH mention and the beach and water beckons, brave swimmers. Prior to refunds on empty cans and plastic bottles, the beach was littered with all sorts and we formed Cabarita Beach Combers and collected huge amounts of litter which was removed by NSW Environmental Services, who supplied us with sturdy bags. Delighted to say the beach is mostly free of garbage these days, so enjoy.
