25.01.2022 Reminder! Inland Rail meeting tonight (Thursday) at the Felton Hall 6.30pm

23.01.2022 Blue skies and fresh local produce welcomed thousands of people to Felton Food Festival!

19.01.2022 Local news report on last week's Inland Rail meeting

17.01.2022 Ok so they insisted on having last night's Felton Inland Rail meeting as a 'drop in' session, but so many people came that it had to be held as a Q&A session, and then so many more came that the whole session had to be held all over again from the start. It's hard to say exactly how many came, but it was certainly more than 200 and could have been 300. Most left frustrated because very little new information was provided, not even the detailed mapping that the chair conceded ...was being used by the consultants. A large number of people expressed concern about the composition of the Project Reference Group, with some areas not represented at all (eg Leyburn, Umbiram, Southbrook), while others were heavily represented. Check out the line up here and decide for yourself - https://infrastructure.gov.au//yelarbon-gowri/members.aspx While no new information was provided last night, at least the organisers will have been left in no doubt about the passion of our community and our determination to protect Felton for the future. 17.01.2022 Thanks Costa for taking some time out of your busy day to connect to your big fan!

15.01.2022 We're all a bit weary after another successful Felton Food Festival, but it's back to the campaign to save the Felton Valley from being chopped in half by the Melbourne-Brisbane Inland Rail. Here's our latest input to the Yelarbon-Gowrie Project Reference Group, submitted on 14th March.

13.01.2022 If you haven't already volunteered to help at next weekend's Felton Food Festival please get in touch via the link below!

07.01.2022 One of the justifications for building the Inland Rail is to get the huge tonnage of grain presently transported by road onto the rail, which makes a lot of sense. Less trucks on the road, less road damage, more efficient transport to port, cheaper freight charges for farmers -all good stuff. This is a major advantage for the route chosen by ARTC in 2010 (and NTR in 2017), which connects with major grain depots at Millmerran and Brookstead, plus a number of smaller ones, as opposed to the route via Felton which connects with none. 07.01.2022 Sunny on Sunday - the festival is on!

03.01.2022 Felton is a special place, with a tight-knit community. We stuck together to defend our valley from a destructive mining proposal, a gruelling campaign which lasted four and a half years. To celebrate the International Year of the Farmer in 2012, we held a one-off event called the Felton Food Festival on a local farm. The idea was to showcase local food production and connect consumers with the farmers who produce our food. We didn't know if anyone would come, but so many cam...e we were absolutely swamped. Cars were queued up along the road as far as the eye could see, and most of the food stalls were completely sold out by 11am. Lots of families went home early because the kids were hungry and the food had sold out! So we had it again the next year and then every year after that. Last year 12,000 people came, and this unique event is now officially recognised by the Queensland Government as an Iconic Queensland Event, which provides a major boost to the local economy over a wide area for the whole weekend. It's on again on the 26th March, so come along, or better still put your name down to do a couple of hours as a volunteer. There's lots to see and do for all ages, it's educational and above all it's loads of fun!
