23.01.2022 I took this on Thursday, but it was back today - on both occasions being harassed by Magpies.
22.01.2022 Welcome to our newest residents! So good to see some Bettongs in the Reserve again!
19.01.2022 I set up three remote cameras last week in the area where I last saw the EBB - sadly, no sign this week (although I have seen some distinctive conical diggings in recent weeks). However, lots of other cuteness to share: Kangas, Blue Wrens, Ducks and ducklings, Masked Lapwings and chicks, Swamphens, BTRW, and loads of rabbits!!! Enjoy
17.01.2022 I trapped for BTRW again this morning and we managed to trap three - two girls and a young male. Steve and Thomas from the Yarra Valley Nocturnal Zoo took the young male and one of the females, so they now have a strong little family unit for their Zoo. I also caught three rabbits. As we don't currently have Quoll to feed, I released them outside the reserve to take their chances with the local foxes, dogs and cats. I've also had cameras set up. One in with the new Bettong family - loads of pictures of them, a large rabbit, a rat, a pair of ducks, a swamp hen and a young BTRW. All very interested in the food tray! The other two cameras are out in the East in an area often frequented by our EBB; alas no sign of them. But plenty of Kangas, BRTW, rabbits, one very active ringtail possum and one very large rat!
