18.01.2022 We had the pleasure of going out with Andy Chapman for some dibbler monitoring work last week. The project is a collaboration with Friends of the Fitzgerald Riv...er National Park and has been supported via funding from the Western Australian Governments State Natural Resource Management Program WA The dibbler monitoring is part of the project Uncovering Cocanarup Conservation, Community & Culture which has the main aim of coordinating a biological survey of Cocanarup (improving our understanding of this asset which is both culturally significant and biologically rich). Unfortunately the results for this monitoring round were; - (pesky but cute) bush rats: 109 - dibblers: 0 This pic is of Andy with one of the 109 rats .

07.01.2022 Well done those people who had a go at the Banksia quiz that Gil Craig organised for the Friends of the Fitz stall at the Hopetoun Festival Market event yesterday. The Junior winners were Luzy & and Eliza Edwards and Pia Couper. More than two adults got the 10 question correct so there was a draw for the 2 winners Moira McMahon and John Tucker. The challenge was to match the Banksia nuts on the table with the photos of the baksias in flower. It was a great way for the public to learn more about our local Banksias
06.01.2022 During the members weekend from the 19th - 21st June activities varied amongst the members and two members, Pam Jones and Louise Lodge set off outdoors to paint and draw. The conditions were perfect with little wind, clear blue skies and no insects. Hopefully this will be the precursor for the running the Art Retreat which couldn't take place due to the Pandemic.
