14.01.2022 The steel framework of the new kitchen building is complete. It looks amazing.

14.01.2022 Yeah! Much excitement as the roof is on and it looks great to have such a large undercover area at Woorabinda to shelter the youth from the tropical conditions. The kitchen looks enormous now the space is defined with the internal partition wall up.

12.01.2022 What will you grow in the heart of a child? A love of nature? Respect for the environment? Self-confidence? Leadership? Generosity? Kindness? Plant the seed. To...morrow is Schools Tree Day and Sunday is National Tree Day and there's still lots of ways to take part at school, home and in your community. https://treeday.planetark.org See more

10.01.2022 At the moment everyday is exciting to see the progress with our kitchen building thanks to the great work by Area Steel subcontractors. Doors are in and side walls and window frames are up and in.

10.01.2022 Getting closer to completing the kitchen building and power supply

09.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who came down for the working bee today. The signs on the walking track look fantastic. The woorabinda sign looks great with its new coat.

06.01.2022 Jeff and Ross from Area Steel putting the finishing touches on the kitchen prior to handing over to the NT Venture this morning. Well done Area Steel for achieving the finished product in such a tight timeline. Great to work with men who have such a happy can do attitude. The fridge was a very generous donation from Rotary Palmerston/Litchfield Branch. It was a bit of a meccano set putting it together - but with girl scout perseverance I figured which way all the little metal bits went in and the shelves actually fitted! Pulling off the factory protective plastic coating on the stainless steel required the sacrifice of all nails.

05.01.2022 Internal wall between the kitchen and store room completed, external cladding completed, servery shutter installed, just the external flashings and sheet screws to be finished.

05.01.2022 Just had a meeting this morning with Mr Jeff Green of Area Steel Constructions to hand over access to Woorabinda so he can start construction of the 10 m x 18 m kitchen/dining building funded by generous donation from the Bendigo Bank - Coolalinga Community Branch. A very exciting moment. Hopefully completed around Christmas/New Year.

05.01.2022 Exciting news for Woorabinda facilities as the kitchen building donated by the Coolalinga Community Branch of the Bendigo bank has commenced construction. See the pictures of the concrete pour last week.

05.01.2022 Woorabinda kitchen fitout progress

04.01.2022 All people concerned about the future of Howard Springs Nature Park remaining a 'Nature Park' should get active and complete the online survey to have their say about the proposal to consider allowing commercial accommodation facilities and development within the Park boundaries. Despite Scouts NT protesting last year against a commercial treetop adventure challenge facility being built throughout the rainforest at the Nature Park - it is going ahead - and now here is another commercial proposal. We need people power to send the message that our local conservation zones are not for sale to the highest bidder. Complete the survey and give your feedback.

03.01.2022 Great Environmental weekend camp, many thanks to all the leaders, adult helpers and youth who took part. Woorabinda now has bush food and indigenous medicine trees tagged and GPS located within the campground for future use.

02.01.2022 Pleased to advise the builders have completed their construction of the kitchen/dining building, now for the internal fitout, plumbing and power.
