25.01.2022 For all those (Ex)Rovers out their you will know this one .... The Rover shoulder knot's various colours represent the other sections within Scouting and acts to reminder Rovers of their motto 'Service'. It certainly stands out of their uniform.

24.01.2022 We just love old photos. This one is of first Kew Scouts in 1926. Today there are two Scout Groups in Kew (1st & 4th Kew) and these groups are part of Boroondara District and Melbourne Region.

22.01.2022 The Good Turn Knot (which looks just like the Friendship Knot) ...is a reminder to do a good deed every day. That Cattle Rustlers Knot is pretty handy too

22.01.2022 Have you seen the latest mural located on the side of Gilwell Park's Sycamore Lodge? The mural was inspired by the drawings of Robert Baden-Powell which appear in Scouting for Boys and was installed by Diane Turner and her Gilwell Park Heritage Research Team.

22.01.2022 When you were young, did you look for that special stick to go walking with? It did make all the difference so that you could complete that walk. Simply being outdoors just seems to make you happy.

21.01.2022 Old Rover Boat (ORB) Australia Day 2020 oppoprtunity To all my fellow old Rovers! We may be a tad older these days, but we're still as good looking as ever!... Australia Day weekend meant being at Eumeralla, back when no matter what day the 26th fell on, it was a Monday that mattered. Mudbash meant putting anything in an Esky that you did not want to freeze up at Big River, or coping with so much mud at Ballan. Also, no matter how much of a big night we just had, being up early for some sort of community service or helping out at other Scouting events just happened. For so many of us Rovers and Scouting has been such an influence on our lives and led to our life-long friendships, not just at home but around the world. That does not mean we should not get together for a party. Our partners and non-Rover friends are all sick of our stories of back when...but we aren't. A suggestion came my way that we could have a get together on a cruise, so I thought 'why not' and now it is happening! So on Australia Day weekend 2020 we have a group booking on Carnival Spirit, departing the Friday afternoon from Melbourne and returning back to Melbourne early on the Monday Morning. It may have been over 20 years or so since we have caught up, but it just feels like yesterday when we are together. Check out the "ORB" Facebook page for more info and how to book your way onto this special event. Darren Leckie, Group Leader - Hazel Glen Scout Group

12.01.2022 'The Scout' is on display in the Environmental Centre at Gilwell Park, Victoria. This original bronze statuette of 'The Scout' was sculptured by renowned artist Paul Montford for Australia's first National Jamboree held in Frankston, Victoria, in 1934-35. For many years the statue was beside the Chapel and unfortunately the weather affected it. It has been repaired and is now in the EEC building for protection. Thanks to our friends from Gilwell Heritage for this info.

Many old and current Rovers love this part of Victoria and will be out skiing there this year again!
