14.01.2022 Agree this was a very, very special garden. Its's a plantspersons garden- knowing how to create and manage the right environment for plants from all parts of the globe - The Cherry tree is Prunus okame, according to Ev the best for our climate and who wouldn't agree when you see the result? Hibiscus acetosella - Africa; Leucospermum - Africa; Medinilla species - tropical regions; Incredible 'plantspeopleship'. The cream of the crop - Wollemia nobilis perfectly positioned. So much here - a private botanic garden!! So generous to invite thousands in to enjoy not just the plants, but the overall perfect environment for slowing down and absorbing....... nature.

13.01.2022 Looks like a bumper season for the Sandpaper Fig, Ficus coronata this season. Walk through the Bush Foods Garden to see this tree along with other bush foods planted in 2010 by local school students. The fruit which appears on the trunk and branches was a food source for indigenous Australians while the rough 'sand paper' like leaves were used to smooth surfaces of weapons and tools. Other specimens of this tree are also found in the Mangroves to Moutains Transect of the Gardens.
