24.01.2022 What a stunning photo, taken by a recent visitor, Bruce Jennings. Thanks so much for allowing us to see it, Bruce. Much appreciated. #visitgippsland #visitvictoria #waterfalls #connectingtotoora #tarraterritorytourism
24.01.2022 It is now the second week of the School Holidays, and the Agnes Falls Scenic Reserve is ready for your visit! During the month of June 2020 a huge number of visitors came along - 4118 in fact! - happy to be able to travel away from home now that some of the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. Social distancing rules still apply, however. As always, BYO portable BBQ if you plan to cook, drinking water, and hand sanitizer. The picnic shelter has two tables undercover, and t...here are four outdoor tables, as well as toilets on site. Dogs on leads are also welcome but please clean up after them! After recent rains the falls are looking quite spectacular! #visitgippsland #lovegippsland #southgippsland #visitvictoria #tarraterritorytourism #waterfalls #familyoutings #walkingwithdogs #outinnature
24.01.2022 Agnes Falls is currently looking quite spectacular! With School Holidays coming up we regret that those of you in Melbourne's Covid-19 lockdown cannot come for a visit at present, but everyone from other areas in Regional Victoria are most welcome! BYO facemasks, hand sanitiser, picnic or portable BBQ. Groups of up to 10 outdoors are allowed, but physical distancing with others still applies. Dogs on leads are always welcome, too.... Hope to see you there! #visitvictoria #tarraterritorytourism #walkingwithdogs #waterfalls #visitgippsland #Picnics #familyouting #abcgippsland
24.01.2022 Here's the latest video of the Agnes Falls, taken by recent visitor Butch. Thanks so much for allowing us to share it. Much appreciated! If you live in the local area, and Covid-19 restrictions allow, why not celebrate Fathers Day at this wonderful natural attraction! Dogs on leads also most welcome.
23.01.2022 Next time you are driving up to the Agnes Falls from Toora ( or on your way back, in that direction) look out for this fabulous sculpture on the fenceline of a local farm. There is also a dog, just out of the picture. Such a wonderful tribute to the farming / dairy family. #visitgippsland #visitvictoria #woodsculptures #tarraterritorytourism #connectingtotoora
23.01.2022 Notice to those people who were going to join us at our FoAF Meeting. 1-3pm, up at the Agnes Falls Scenic Reserve, on Thursday 25 June 2020.............. Due to the weather, and Covid-19 restrictions, we will postpone this Meeting for a month, until late July 2020. Sorry for any inconvenience.
22.01.2022 Another month has ended and another one begun, so here is the latest visitation figure for the month of October........2543 visitors. This is only 44 less than October 2019, but due to Covid-19 our total visitation figure is well down, at 3,679 less than for the same period last year 2019 ). The Total to date for 2020 is 26,583, not counting those who remained in their vehicles, or who only made use of the picnic ground. Although we have had many visitors from other Victorian Regional areas, once travel restrictions are lifted in Melbourne we will certainly welcome you all back with open arms! #visitgippsland #tarraterritorytourism #centralgippsland #lovegippsland #waterfalls #picnics #visitvictoria #walkingwithdogs #southgippsland #naturepact
21.01.2022 31 August 2020. Another month has passed and the August visitation was 1137, a good figure seeing that Stage 3 Covid-19 restrictions applied locally, and Stage 4 in many parts of Melbourne. If you live locally it is a great place for some fresh air and exercise!
21.01.2022 Happy School Holidays, September 2020! For those of you living in Regional Victoria here's the perfect family outing for you, with free entry, fresh unpolluted air, no traffic, a peaceful and relaxing bushland picnic area, and the bonus of a beautiful waterfall to view! Plenty of room for the children to play, and to enjoy getting "back to nature"! BYO picnic and portable BBQ, drinking water, and due to Covid-19 regulations, facemasks, and hand sanitiser, and enjoy a wonderfu...l get-away! You may even see a platypus in the river or catch a fish, and hear the sounds of the many birds that make the Agnes Falls Scenic Reserve their home. Hope to see you there! Local townships would also welcome you to buy a coffee, icecream, cafe or pub meal, whilst in the area. So much to see and do in this scenic area - Great Southern Rail Trail, Port Welshpool Long Jetty, quirky townships, and so much more! #tarraterritorytourism #centralgippsland #waterfalls #picnics #familyouting #walkingwithdogs #visitgippsland #visitvictoria
19.01.2022 Due to Covid-19 restrictions our Friends of Agnes Falls group had not been able to hold any further FoAF meetings since our last one, held in January 2020, but the opportunity arose recently, with Regional areas being allowed to have a group of 10 people outdoors. As a consequence only Committee Members, and those members living locally who sometimes have attended a Meeting, were invited to come along. It was good to be able to see the members who attended, after such a long ...time! It has been such a shame that all the local events that FoAF would have attended had to be cancelled, and no Open Day sausage sizzles could be held at the Reserve. Fingers crossed that we may be able to do so in 2021. Please contact us if you may be interested to purchase an Agnes Falls souvenir - prices range from $1 to $24! (postage extra) In the meantime, it has been pleasing to know that people have still been visiting the Agnes Falls over the past months, with the total visitation for the year presently standing at 21,648, which is about 3000 less than the same period last year, no doubt due to Covid-19 restrictions. FoAF members will be holding a Working Bee on-site in the picnic grounds on Wednesday 14 October 2020, from 10.30am to approx.12.30pm. We also anticipate holding a lunchtime Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 18 November 2020, at the Royal Standard Hotel, Toora - maximum of ten people attending at this stage. If you may be interested to become a FoAF Member please contact our Secretary, Kathy, on 5688 1400, or email [email protected] for more details. With another week of School Holidays, and recent rains, the falls have been looking quite spectacular, and the Reserve is still a great place to visit. As always dogs on leads are welcome, but please bring your own hand sanitiser and face masks during the present time, and be mindful of physical distancing with others. BYO drinking water, picnic, or a portable BBQ if you plan to cook. We hope you have been faring well during the past few months of restrictions. All the Best! #tarraterritorytourism #centralgippsland #walkingwithdogs #visitgippsland #visitgippsland #waterfalls
17.01.2022 Here we are into August 2020 already, with the July visitation ascertained at 3525 people going up the track to admire our beautiful Agnes Falls. Quite a lot of water coming over at present, so well worth a look if you are not too far away. These fine wintry days are perfect for a visit. Please keep Covid-19 restrictions in mind, however, and BYO hand sanitiser, and drinking water, as well as a portable BBQ if you plan to cook. Dogs on leads always welcome, but please practise social distancing with others who are not in your family.
14.01.2022 When was the last time you visited the Agnes Falls? With School Holidays commencing this week why not plan a family outing, or get-together with friends, with a picnic at the Agnes Falls Scenic Reserve. The falls are looking wonderful after recent rainy days! BYO portable BBQ if you plan to cook, your own drinking water, and hand sanitizer. Toilets are open for use. Dogs on leads are also welcome, too.... Note : Social distancing rules still apply due to Covid-19 restrictions. #visitgippsland #southgippsland #lovegippsland #visitvictoroa #waterfalls #walkingwithdogs #familyouting #picnics #outinnature #tarraterritorytourism
12.01.2022 If you live in the local area please consider joining us at our ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Thursday 19 November 2020, commencing at 12.15pm at the Royal Standard Hotel, Toora. A Short General Meeting will be held prior to the AGM, with Lunch to follow ((required due to Pub Covid rules - own expense).)... The usual Reports will be presented, and the Election of the Committee for the remainder of 2020 and for 2021 will be held. As seating at the Pub is limited, due to Covid-19 restrictions, please send us a PM as soon as possible if interested to attend. New prospective members would be especially welcome. See more
10.01.2022 Here is an old postcard view of the Agnes Falls. Unfortunately, access to the bottom is not possible at present.
08.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to Level 3 Covid-19 restrictions in our area our FoAF members are unable to have any Working Bees in the Reserve, or even a face-to-face Meeting, until further notice. All the same the Agnes Falls Scenic Reserve is still a pleasure to visit if you live locally (Stage 3 Restrictions), and are coming for exercise, but bear in mind that social distancing rules still apply, and you must wear a face covering. #visitgippsland #connectingtotoora #tarraterritorytourism #waterfalls #visitvictoria #tarraterritorytourism
07.01.2022 Where has the year gone? Another month has ended, and the visitation for September 2020 reached 2392 . Although this period included two weeks of the School Holidays no-one from Melbourne was allowed to visit due to Covid-19 restrictions, so our annual tally sofar is 24,040 (about 3500 less than in 2019.) Ah well, never mind - All those who came would have enjoyed their visit, and we hope you will too, next time time you come!
05.01.2022 We still feel sad about the loss of the allocated funding for our long-awaited cantilevered viewing platform at the Agnes Falls, which was withdrawn 12 months ago by the South Gippsland Shire Administrators. Does anyone have a spare $460,000????
05.01.2022 The Friends of Agnes Falls would like to wish all the Dads a Happy Fathers Day 2020, especially if you are able to get together with your family this year, but also Best Wishes to all those who cannot be visited at this time, due to Covid-19 restrictions. Fingers crossed for next year, and perhaps a special picnic outing to the Agnes Falls when we are all allowed back!
04.01.2022 This lovely photograph of Agnes Falls was taken by recent visitor Stephen, following some days of rain. Looking, and sounding spectacular, as always.
04.01.2022 Here's an interview with Heesco, about his murals in Yarram!
02.01.2022 Spring is well on the way, and we hope Covid-19 restrictions will be eased soon for those wishing to come along and enjoy this magical natural attraction. #visitgippsland #tarraterritorytourism #connectingtotoora #waterfalls #visitVictoria #walkingwithdogs
