12.01.2022 The Friends of Coolart are undertaking a project to capture stories and photographs from anyone who arrived in Australia and was settled at the migrant camp in Somers (now Somers Camp School). The camp operated between 1949 and 1957 and at its peak housed 1300 residents from Eastern Europe, many who settled in the area. We need your help to find and gather stories with the long term aim to create a permanent display or exhibition in one of the original camp huts located at Coolart - we would love to hear from you!
