24.01.2022 Something for the kids: Friday and Saturday. Friends of Gariwerd Grampians are assisting Parks with a Junior Ranger activity. Its called Parks Bioblitz. Take a photo of something interesting in the park, send it to inaturalist.org to help with recording whats out there. FOGG members will be at Brambuk from 9.30 both days to help you get started, or if you want help identifying what youve seen. What secrets have you found as you walked to Venus baths?

Join us for a day out in the park at one of our upcoming activities!

19.01.2022 Recently Artist John Kellett contacted our Ranger in charge Dave wanting to donate a large set of limited edition prints to support work in the Park and Dave suggested giving them to us. We are very grateful, but as we have limited opportunity to display them we are also going to share them with the Walking Track Support Group who can sell them more easily at stalls and working bees . FOGGs will keep some to sell and have as speaker gifts. If you would like to buy one at a bargain price of $80 please contact us. More details will follow.

15.01.2022 April 9: Rock Art Wander. Under the guidance of ben gunn, and with permission from the indigenous community, we visited two shelters in the Victoria range. We learnt so much and also assisted in accurately measuring the dimensions of the recently discovered site.

15.01.2022 FRIENDS OF GRAMPIANS-GARIWERD GEOLOGY EXCURSION 14 May FOGGS were very happy to see a good turnout of members and interested others. We had Dr Ross Cayley present us with a rapid tour through millions of years and from the Grampians to Antarctica through slides, maps, photos, diagrams and analogies. The Grampians like a wrecked warehouse, or like a stack of playing cards reshuffled. The earth like a pan of simmering soup. We then went out to look at the real world. A magnif...icent day to picnic on Mt William summit, look across to the Ararat hills in one direction, and the Serra Range in the other. I dont remember seeing the air so clear before. We examined a cast of a large worm hole deposited when the summit rocks were a muddy beach, and stopped on the way down the mountain to look at an ancient landslide, and examples of mudstone. Then some of us continued round to Silverband Falls road to have a look at faults in the rocks there. An excellent if mentally exhausting day. See more

13.01.2022 Artist Statement: "I first visited the Grampians about 1970 and in 1973 I was fortunate to acquire a property near the Wannon River in the southern area. I started drawing impressions of the Grampians in the late 1980s after exploring the mountains and getting to know the flora and wonderful land forms. The current style of my ink and pastel drawings dates from 2005 to 2015 and includes flowers, stylized mountains and cliffs, lichen patterns etc. John Kellett Just 2 of Johns works as a sample.
